Ecological intensification of extensive fish farming
Ecological intensification of extensive fish farming
systems family in West Africa and Central from an analysis
of the innovation process
Project Code: LFA/04/CF/CW/2011-14/
Objective:
The overall project objective is to strengthen the sustainability of productivity of fish farming and
more broadly family farmers.
Background/Rationale:
Extensive fish farming grows discretely yet with interesting contributions to sustainable development
and the fight against poverty in some countries. The project objective is to support this dynamic by
incorporating the logic of recent innovations and those under development, to participate in the
removal of major constraints foreshadowed in its development: lack of performance of technical
systems, and access limited to sensitive information.
Project Outputs:

Knowledge of innovations, actors and fish breeding constraints are improved

Technical and organizational innovations are co-constructed

The knowledge gained is shared

Actors' capacities are strengthened
