It is based on the "Aeroelan'k" principle but applies to the whole French supply chain. It should support 400 SMEs and 70 clusters over 3 years. If you would like to be part of the game: SMEs, cluster heads, consultants, supporters... please send us a short email and we will contact you. [email protected] / [email protected] DINAMIC-SPACE programme After Daher, Thales, and Aerolia , the 4th cluster lead by Sogerma was launched on September 4th in Nantes. This collective operation managed by CCIR and SPACE now supports 21 SMEs of the Pays de Loire region in improving their supply chain performance. More information in French at http://paysdelaloire.dinamicentreprises.fr/ SPACE contact: [email protected] Executive members SPACE has now 71 associate members ! 1/4 We welcome Pascal GARNERO, new representative for Daher Socata and François BERTRAND, new representative for Latécoère, companies which are both executive members of SPACETM. SPACE NEWS SPACE DEPLOYMENT IN GERMANY SPACE participated in the Niedersachsen Aviation "Partnership Day" in Jaderberg. Airbus communicated their "Global Supplier Strategy" to suppliers who are providing "Jigs & Tools" for the Airbus and Premium Aerotec plants in Germany. SPACE has been mentioned and considered as an important element for supplier development. Berlin-Brandenburg Aviation Association (BBAA) organised an information event regarding "Challenges for the Aerospace Supply Chain". SPACE presented the OEM challenges and the SPACE strategy in Germany to the BBAA members. The German SPACE Expert Pool is growing. Now we have 8 experts from Airbus, Liebherr and Diehl ready to support the ramp-up of diagnostics and projects with our associated members. The first diagnostics have been completed and projects have been started. Contact. We are building a good relationship with TEDAE who should soon become an Honorary member. Norbert Schroeder will go the EACP meeting end of September in Bilbao to present the successful German SPACE deployment. We will wait till there are a few more new executive members in Aerostructure before kicking off a meeting of the SPACE Spanish community before end of the year. EVENT Bronzavia, Comat, Freyssinet, Tronico: 4 SMEs awarded SPACE asked those SMEs whose improvement projects were rewarded with "the best improvement award 2013" at the Paris-Le Bourget airshow to talk to us about their partnership with SPACE. © Airbus S.A.S 2013 photo by e*m company / H. GOUSSé Klaus Richter at Paris-Le Bourget airshow (June 2013) Bronzavia Industrie is a well-known manufacturer and supplier of hightech equipment and parts for all the major contractors in the aerospace industry: UTC, Safran, Eurocopter, ATR, Dassault, EADS, etc. SPACE: What was your project and what results did you achieve? Less than a year after the takeover of Aéro92, a subsidiary of Auvergne Aéronautique in compulsory liquidation, Bronzavia Industrie had successfully transferred and incorporated all staff and facilities of Aéro92 at its Sartrouville plant in the Paris area. SPACE: What sort of support did SPACE provide ? This operation was actively supported by SPACE and resulted in a 50% increase in turnover, reaching 10M€, and an improvement in OTD from 45% to nearly 90%. At the Paris-Bourget, Airshow, Klaus RICHTER, Executive Vice President Airbus Procurement & EADS Corporate Sourcing, and Maurice PERRAULT, President of SPACETM presented Bronzavia Industrie the 2013 Award for its performance improvement programme. 2/4 SPACE N°22 (Oct 2013) COMAT Aerospace designs, manufactures, integrates and markets innovative equipment (mechatronic solutions, equipment for the energy sector) for customers with very high technical requirements. It accomplishes its mission thanks to continually growing technological excellence of its teams and its acquired know-how of aerospace project management. Through its innovations, COMAT Aerospace has helped its customers grow and has created jobs. SPACE:What was your project and what results did you achieve? Lean manufacturing has been developed over two years. COMAT Aerospace has spent more than 400 Hours of training over 227 days to continue to improve organisation, process, quality, cycle time, OTD. The 3 initial objectives have been achieved: Improve quality in order to meet delivery dates: "On time delivery" OTD. Previously 70%, the result is now 100 % Improve Workflow (Value Stream Mapping) to reduce the cycle time of THALES parts: previously 35 days, the lead time is now 16.5 days Improve the supplier performance review and reduce NC (number supplier with NC / total supplier) : previously 5%, the NC ratio is now 1.8 % SPACE: What sort of support did SPACE provide ? COMAT Aerospace would like to thank the SPACE AEROLEAN’K organisation and all the members (M. DESPROGES, Mme SCHILTE, etc…). Without their involvement and contribution, it would not have been possible to implement this plan to improve operational excellence. SPACE is a true springboard in the ongoing search for perfection. Freyssinet Aero Equipment is a mechanical engineering firm that has been supplying the aerospace industry for 20 years (Turnover: 12M€ / employees : 65). SPACE: What was your project and what results did you achieve? From early beginnings supplying naked parts to large mechanical assemblies more recently, it has always aimed to achieve a standard of excellence in industrial performance through the adoption of the MRPII referential. The aim was first to implement “the extended enterprise” and to improve performance through actions such as “supplier development”, and second, to internally control internal flow so as to reduce the number of cycles and increase their reliability. In terms of performance, the Customers OTD ratio increased from 85% to 97% and the Supply Chain OTD ratio from 74% to 91%. SPACE: What sort of support did SPACE provide ? This was made possible through the “Aerolean’k” programme driven by Space, where the firm was a pilot for one cluster and a member of another. At the same time, together with the suppliers, the Airbus 6P strategic management action tool was implemented with the help of SPACE experts. TRONICO specialises in the design and integration of electronic systems for high-value-added equipment, throughout their life cycle. SPACE: What was your project, what results did you achieve? What sort of support did SPACE provide ? A project team that included two permanent members of SPACE worked for two years to set up a Sales and Operations Plan (SOP) within the company. The project aimed at improving the OTD KPI by 5 points and implementing the planning process which would enable anticipating decisions relating to human and material resources needed for the following 6 to 18-month period. The results were very encouraging: OTD KPI, customer satisfaction and internal impact were all improved (better information sharing process, better decision process at the right level with follow-up, identification and control of the critical work centers’ capacity, better Human Resources management to anticipate training and staff adjustment). TRONICO is now improving this process by implementing a MPS (Master Production Schedule), with the support of SPACE. 3/4 SPACE N°22 (Oct 2013) TRAINING TRAINING CALENDER Next training sessions october 2013 December 2013 To find out more, visit our website January 2014 www.space-aero.org/page/training/ MASCOT MASCOT3 5 days 21/10/13 31/10/13 28/11/13 10/12/13 08/01/13 Initiation of MRPII 2 days (Free training for SPACE members) MASCOT4 5 days 11 & 12 dec 21/01/14 04/02/14 11/03/14 01/04/14 22/04/14 MCSA-SIPEM, 18120 MEREAU MECACHROME, 37530 Amboise MCSA-SIPEM, 18120 MEREAU Why do aerospace SMEs need MASCOT?
