Contexte et bilan
L’Association Francophone pour l’Enseignement et la Recherche en Pharmacognosie (AFERP) compte
environ 140 membres et a organisé ses 3èmes journées internationales (qui se tiennent tous les 2 ans) conjointement
au second symposium Franco-Pakistanais sur la chimie des substances naturelles : le premier, avait été organisé par
l'Université de Karachi (Hussain Ebrahim Jamal Laboratory ou HEJ) et le CNRS, à Karachi en Janvier 2004, sous
l'égide de l'Ambassade de France à Islamabad.
Les approches et préoccupations pour la recherche sur les produits naturels étant les mêmes pour ces deux
groupes avec des ouvertures vers l’agronomie et les valorisations industrielles, ce congrès a été organisé à Rennes
sur le site de l’Agrocampus. Outre des aspects généraux habituels, un accent tout particulier a été mis sur les
produits naturels de la mer et du littoral ainsi que sur les produits d'origine laitière d'intérêt pharmaceutique, compte
tenu de l'importance de ces produits dans l'économie locale et des résultats scientifiques acquis en ce domaine par
les laboratoires de la région. Les échanges scientifiques ont été stimulés par des conférences de haut niveau, des
scéances posters, des visites d’entreprises bretonnes et une découverte du patrimoine régional.
Le bilan chiffré de ces journées est le suivant :

Budget global (36 000 €) hors hébergements
Le 3ème symposium franco-pakistanais sera organisé en Janvier 2008 à Karachi ( Pr I Choudhary) et
Islamabad (Pr A Hasan). Le congrès mondial des associations de pharmacognosie (> 1000 pers) sera organisé
en du 3 au 8 Aout 2008 à Athènes par l’AFERP aidée des Sociétés de pharmacognosie européenne, allemande
et américaines.

Un ministre pakistanais reçu à l'Agrocampus

L'Agrocampus et l'Université Rennes 1 ont accueilli les 3 journées internationales de l'Aferp (Association
francophone pour l'enseignement et la recherche en pharmacognosie) sur le thème « Produits naturels
d'intérêt pharmaceutique et nutritionnel ». Plus de 130 personnes, dont des scientifiques étrangers venus
de Madagascar, Pologne et Grèce, ont participé à la rencontre, surtout consacrée aux produits issus de la
mer, du littoral et du lait.
La délégation la plus nombreuse venait du Pakistan, pour participer à un symposium, le second de la
série avec des chercheurs français. Elle était conduite par le ministre de l'enseignement supérieur, le
professeur Atta-ur-Rahman, un expert reconnu sur le plan international. Grand consommateur de produits
laitiers, le Pakistan s'appuie sur une coopération avec la France pour construire des outils universitaires à
la hauteur des besoins. L'Inra-Agrocampus fait d'ores et déjà figure de partenaire, de même que
l'université technologique de Troyes. Le ministre et les scientifiques pakistanais ont été reçus vendredi par
le maire de Rennes, Edmond Hervé. Mardi, ils sont allés à Toulouse pour une visite des laboratoires
Pierre Fabre.

We have reached Pakistan and at our homes individually. We have enjoyed our tour to Rennes,
