Dear friends,
After Dance, Theater and Music FOCUS organized by Institut français since 2008, the first Circus FOCUS will take place
in 2012. The FOCUS has become a key event to discover french artists. It creates an ideal setting for foreign supervisors
to assess the last french artistics innovations.
From April 10th to 15th 2012, Institut français organizes the first FOCUS dedicated to Circus performances, in France. In
connexion with the Hautes Tensions festival which takes place at Parc de la Villette (Paris), it grows thanks to several
partnerships : Le Cirque Théâtre (Elbeuf), le Théâtre Firmin Gémier/La Piscine (Antony), le Prato (Lille), 2Rue2Cirque
Co-op, le Montfort théâtre and le Théâtre de la Cité Internationale (Paris). This theaters will open their doors to many
performances and meetings, allowing foreign supervisors to see french places and circus festival. These mute
performances are mostly dedicated to all audiences. Professionals will appreciate the large range of french artistic
offer thanks to 3 big tops performances, an open air show and 12 indoor performances.
Participants will attend workshops in the Fresh Circus seminar (first dedicated to both members of the European
Circostrada Network and professionals encounters organized by ONDA). This event will enable artists and professionals
to share experiences and opinions about a field which is getting more and more structured across Europe.
