Committee Charges
Provide advice and guidance on the PIEVC Protocol
including:
1. Identifying and completing required updates,
including changes to the climate chapter and
severity scoring criteria.
2. Developing an implementation plan to require the
use of the protocol by Canadian engineers that
includes:
a) Development of a regulatory standard,
b) Development of wording of a clause for
procurement documents related to the design,
building, maintenance and rehabilitation of
infrastructure,
c) Marketing the Protocol as recognized
professional development for engineers, and
d) Determining the benefits of embedding the
protocol into the education system.
3. Promoting the benefits of the Protocol to policy
makers within federal, provincial, territorial and
municipal governments and the use by
practitioners within these bodies.
4. Establishing a business case for development and
implementation of an online tool version of the
Protocol.
5. Providing advice to the Public Policy Committee
regarding the feasibility of implementing an
infrastructure resilience certification program.
Tâches du comité
Fournir des conseils sur le Protocole du CVIIP, y compris:
1. Déterminer et effectuer les mises à jour nécessaires,
y compris les modifications du chapitre sur les
changements climatiques et les critères d’évaluation
de la gravité.
2. Élaborer un plan de mise en œuvre pour exiger
l’utilisation du Protocole par les ingénieurs
canadiens :
a) Élaboration d’une norme réglementaire;
b) Formulation d’une clause pour les documents
d’approvisionnement se rapportant à la
conception, à la construction, à l’entretien et à
la remise en état des infrastructures;
c) Promotion du Protocole en tant que contenu de
développement professionnel reconnu pour les
ingénieurs;
d) Détermination des avantages d’intégrer le
protocole au système d’éducation.
3. Promouvoir les avantages du Protocole auprès des
décideurs politiques des gouvernements fédéral,
provinciaux, territoriaux et municipaux et son
utilisation par les praticiens de ces instances.
4. Établir un dossier justificatif pour le développement
et la mise en œuvre d’une version en ligne du
Protocole.
5. Fournir au Comité des politiques publiques des
conseils sur la possibilité de mettre en œuvre un
programme de certification de la résilience des
infrastructures.
