THE EVENT - L’EVENEMENT The Evian Championship
In 2013, The Evian Championship became a member of the highly select club of five Major
tournaments on the world tour. The tournament has been crowning the leading women
golfers on the planet for over 20 years. This year, all eyes will be focused on Inbee Park as
she could be the first player in history to perform a Super Career Grand Slam if she wins The
Evian Championship. (Career Super Grand Slam = player who has won all of the Majors at
least once during her career).
Prize Money: $ 3,250,000. 487 500 $ for the winner.
The Evian Championship a fait son entrée en 2013 dans le circuit très fermé des cinq
tournois Majeurs du tour féminin mondial. Le tournoi a couronné les plus grandes golfeuses
de la planète depuis plus de 20 ans. Cette année, Inbee Park sera au cœur des attentions
puisqu’elle pourrait être la première joueuse de l’histoire à réaliser le Super Career Grand
Slam si elle gagnait The Evian Championship. (Super Career Grand Slam = joueuse ayant
remporté au moins 1 fois chacun des Majeurs dans sa carrière).

As the fifth and final Major, The Evian Championship occupies a strategic position at the
end of the season for all of the world’s greatest women golfers l For the 2nd time, the LPGA
(US Tour) in association with Rolex and Annika Sörenstam, winner of 10 majors, will be
crowning the top-performing player across the season’s Majors in Evian. After the first 4
Majors of the season and before The Evian Championship, Inbee Park, this year’s winner of
the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and Ricoh Women’s British Open, is already
guaranteed to win the trophy. She will be awarded the trophy at the Rolex Annika Major
Award Ceremony on Saturday 12 September at the Grange au Lac in the presence of
golf’s international institutions and the board of the 5 Major tournaments.
Cinquième et ultime Majeur, The Evian Championship occupe une position stratégique, en
fin de saison, pour l’ensemble des plus grandes golfeuses du monde. Pour la 2e année, la
LPGA (Tour américain) en association avec Rolex et Annika Sörenstam, vainqueur de 10
tournois majeurs, couronne à Evian la joueuse la plus performante sur l’ensemble des
Majeurs de la saison. Après les 4 premiers Majeurs de la saison et avant The Evian
Championship, Inbee Park, vainqueur cette année du KPMG Women’s PGA Championship
et du Ricoh Women’s British Open, est d’ores et déjà assurée de remporter le Trophée. Il lui
sera remis lors de la Cérémonie du Rolex Annika Major Award, le samedi 12 septembre, à
La Grange au Lac en présence des Institutions internationales du golf et du board des 5
tournois majeurs.
VENUE – LIEU
The Evian Resort Golf Club - Evian - France - Par 71 - 6 470 yards (5 916 meters)
Since its complete transformation in 2013, the Evian Resort Golf Club is blossoming in the
heart of its magical setting between lake and mountains, favoring “pure golf”. In 2015, it
has matured and asserts its Major course status, thanks also to a few improvements and
strategic changes (tees on 14 and 18, 12th green).
Player training takes place at the Academy’s facilities, a few minutes from the golf course.
Depuis sa complète transformation en 2013, l’Evian Resort Golf Club s’épanouit au sein
d’un cadre magique entre lac et montagnes, privilégiant le golf pur. En 2015, il gagne en
maturité et affirme son statut de parcours de Majeur, grâce également à quelques
améliorations et modifications stratégiques (départs du 14 et 18, green du 12).
L’entraînement des joueuses se fait sur les infrastructures de l’Academy, à quelques
minutes du golf.
