• Diese Bedienungsanleitung dient zur fachgerechten Ge­räte­hand­
habung und sollte sowohl vor der ersten Inbe­triebnahme, als auch
regelmäßig während der Nutzung des Gerätes gelesen werden.
• Bei Wiederverkauf des Gerätes die Bedienungs­anlei­tung stets mit
übergeben.
• Die Arbeitsgänge der Reparaturstellen-Bear­beitung sind der se­pa­
raten REMA TIP TOP Reparatur-Anleitung zu entnehmen.
• Änderungen, die der technischen Weiterent­wick­lung die­nen, blei­
ben vorbehalten!

I.1Einsatzbereich
Der Reifenspreizer „REP-BOY“ darf ausschließlich zur Kontrolle (sichten) und zur Bearbeitung (Ausar­bei­ten des Lochkanals, Auf­rauen für
das Pflaster, Scha­denstelle mit Lösung einstreichen, Ver­füllen des
Loch­­kanals und Einbau des Pflasters) von PKW-Rei­fen (max.Größe
235/60 R16 max. Gewicht 14,5 kg ) verwendet werden.
Eine andere oder über den beschriebenen Zweck hinausgehende Benutzung gilt als nicht bestimmungs­gemäß.
Die Firma REMA TIP TOP GmbH haftet nicht für daraus entstehende
Schäden. Das Risiko dafür trägt alleine der Anwender. Zur bestimmungsgemäßen Ver­wen­dung gehört auch das Beachten aller Hinweise in dieser Bedienungsanleitung.

Introduction/general information
• This manual explains the correct handling of the tool. It should be
studied before the tool is used for the first time and read regularly
while the tool is used.
• Whenever the tool is sold again, pass on this manual to the new
owner.
• For information about the preparation of the damage, refer to the
separate “Working instructions for tyre repairs with REMA TIP TOP
vulcanizing materials and machines“.
• We reserve the right to carry out modifications which we consider
to be technically advantageous.

I.1 Field of application
The tyre spreader “REP-BOY“ should be used only for inspection and
preparation (preparing the puncture channel, buffing for patch application, cementing the injury area, filling the puncture channel and
patch application) of passenger car tyres (maximum size 235/60 R16
maximum weight 14,5 kg).
Any other use which does not conform to the one defined in this manual is considered to be incorrect.
The company REMA TIP TOP GmbH will not accept any claims due
to damage caused by incorrect use. The user alone has to assume all
risks arising from incorrect use. For the correct use of the tool, it is also
necessary to observe all the instructions given in this manual.

I. Introduction/informations générales
• Ce mode d´emploi explique le maniement correct de l´appareil. Il
doit être étudié avant la première mise en service de l´appareil et
lu régulièrement pendant l´utilisation.
• En cas de revente de l´appareil, toujours remettre ce mode d´emploi
au nouveau propriétaire.
• Pour les informations concernant la préparation des zones à
réparer, référez-vous au mode opératoire séparé pour la réparation
des dégâts de pneus.
• Nous nous réservons le droit d´apporter toutes modifications visant à améliorer le fonctionnement del´appareil.

I.1 Domaine d´application
L´écarteur de pneus REP-BOY ne peut être utilisé que pour l´inspection
des pneus tourisme (taille maximum 235/60 R16 poids maximum 14,5
kg) et la préparation de ceux-ci (alésage d´une perforation, râpage
pour la pose de l´emplâtre, dissolutionnage de la blessure, bourrage
du cratère et pose de l´emplâtre).
Un emploi différent ou un emploi qui excède le domaine d´application
précité est considéré comme inadéquat.
La société REMA TIP TOP GmbH ne répond pas des dommages causés par un emploi in adéquat de l´appareil, emploi dont les risques incombent uniquement à l´utilisateur. L´utilisation adéquate del´appareil
nécessite également le respect de toutes les instructions données
dans ce mode d´emploi.
II.
Sicherheitshinweise
• Bedienungsanleitung vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig und Schritt für
Schritt durcharbeiten.
• Bedienungsanleitung stets für das Bedienungs­personal zu­gäng­­
lich aufbewahren.
• Defekte, bzw. beschädigte Geräte-Bauteile umgehend ersetzen.
• Nur original REMA TIP TOP-Ersatzteile und Zubehör verwenden.
• Bei jedem Spannvorgang den Fixierbügel einsetzen.
• Beim Abschwenken des Spanntisches immer darauf achten, dass
die Rasterstange in das Drehgelenk einrastet.
• Nur gespreizte Reifen abschwenken.
• Beim Spreizen immer den kurzen Spannhaken zuerst am Wulst
ansetzen.
• Wulste vor dem Spreizen mit geeignetem Reinigungs­mittel von
Schmutz, Montagegleitmittel etc. säubern und Reifen-Sei­ten­
wände/-wulste auf Verletzungen untersuchen, welche die Sta­bi­
lität der Wulste beim Spreiz­vor­gang beeinträchtigen könnten.
• Für sicheren Stand des Reifenspreizers sorgen.
(Empfehlung: Bodenplatte Art. Nr. 517 0784).
• Auf einwandfreien Sitz der Spannhaken achten.
• Hakenenden bis zur Biegung in den Reifen einsetzen.
• Niemals Gegenstände zwischen Spannhaken und Rei­fen beilegen. Beim Herausrutschen Gefahr von Ver­letzungen.
• Zusätzlich zu den Sicherheitshinweisen dieser Betriebs­anlei­
tung sind die für den Einsatzort geltenden Regeln und Un­fallver­
hütungsvorschriften ( UVV ) zu beachten.
• Soweit erforderlich oder durch Vorschriften gefordert, persönliche
Schutzausrüstung benutzen!
II.
Safety instructions
• Before using the tool, read the manual carefully.
• Always keep the manual accessible to the operators.
• Immediately replace defective or damaged parts.
• Use only REMA TIP TOP spare parts and accessories.
• Always insert the safety latch before spreading a tyre.
• When inclining the clamping table, always make sure that the supporting rod is engaged in the revolute joint.
• Incline the tyre ony after it has been spread.
• When spreading the tyre, always place the short tenter hook on
the bead first.
• Before spreading the beads, remove dirt, mounting lubricants etc.
from them with the appropriate cleaner; check the tyre sidewalls
and beads for injuries which may de-stabilize the beads while the
tyre is being spread.
• Ensure that the tyre spreader is secured and fastened correctly.
(Recommended fastener: base plate ref.no. 517 0784).
• Make sure that the tenter hooks are seated correctly.
• Push the ends of the hooks into the tyre as far as possible.
• Never put any objects between the tenter hooks and the tyre. Risk
of injury if the tenter hooks slip out of the tyre.
• Besides the safety instructions given in this manual, the local rules
and regulations for prevention of accidents have to be observed.
• Use personal protective equipment, if this is necessary or prescribed.
II.
Consignes de sécurité
• Lire attentivement et étudier systématiquement le mode d´emploi
avant la mise en service de l´appareil.
• Garder toujours le mode d´emploi à un endroit accessible aux
opérateurs.
• Remplacer immédiatement les pièces défectueuses ou endommagées.
• N´utiliser que les pièces détachées et les accessoires d´origine
REMA TIP TOP.
• Insérez le verrou de sûreté chaque fois que vous écartez les talons
d´un pneu.
• Lorsque vous inclinez le plateau de serrage, veillez toujours à ce
que la barre de guidage s´engage dans l´articulation tournante.
• N´inclinez le pneu qu´après l´avoir écarté.
• Chaque fois que vous écartez un pneu, mettez d´abord le crochet
court de fixation sur le talon.
• Avant d´écarter les talons, enlever de ceux-ci toutes les salissures ainsi que les lubrifiants destinés au montage des pneus etc. à
l´aide d´un nettoyant convenable, et vérifier que les flancs et
les talons du pneu ne possèdent pas de blessures qui puissent
déstabiliser les talons lorsque le pneu est écarté.
• Immobiliser correctement l´écarteur
(platine réf. 517 0784 recommandée).
• Vérifier que les crochets de fixation sont fixés correctement.
• Pousser les extrémités des crochets de fixation dans le pneu aussi
loin que possible.
• Ne jamais mettre d´objets entre le pneu et les crochets de fixation.
Risque de blessures si les crochets de fixation glissent hors du
pneu.
• Outre les consignes de sécurité contenues dans ce mode d´emploi,
il est nécessaire de respecter la réglementation locale relative à la
sécurité du travail ainsi que le règlement en vigueur localement.
• Utiliser des équipements individuels de protection, si cela est nécessaire ou préscrit.
III. Gerätebefestigung
Befestigung der Standrohrgrundplatte direkt im Boden
1. 4 Bohrungen Ø 14 mm im Abstand von je 170 mm im Quadrat
- 95 mm tief mit einer Handbohrmaschine bohren
2. Mitgelieferte Dübel S14 in die Bohrung schieben
3.Standrohr mittels der 4 Schrauben 10 x 60 mit den Scheiben
Ø 10,5 x Ø 20 in den Dübeln festschrauben.
Befestigung des Standrohrs an der Bodenplatte
1.Bodenplatte so hinlegen, dass die gebogenen Ecken nach unten
zeigen.
2.Standrohr auf der Bodenplatte mit den mitgelieferten Schrauben
M10 x 20 und den Fächerscheiben Ø 10,5 festschrauben; das
Fußpedal muss sich über der Bodenplatte auf der Bedienerseite
befinden und darf nicht über die Platte hinausstehen.
Sicherheitshinweise:
• Auf ausreichend Abstand zu sonstigen Geräten/Wänden etc. achten. Empfohlene, freizuhaltende Arbeitsfläche ca. 100 cm umlaufend.
• Beim Bohren auf verdeckte/verborgene Stromleitungen etc. achten! Gefahr von Stromschlag!
• Auf ausreichende Festigkeit des Untergrundes (Beton etc.) achten!
III. Mounting the tool
Fastening the base plate for the supporting tube directly to the
ground.
1. With an electric drill, drill four 95 mm deep holes (Ø 14 mm) at
170 mm distance from one another.
2. Insert the S14 pins (included in the shipment) in the holes.
3. Screw the supporting tube to the pins with the four 10 x 60 screws
and the washers Ø 10.5 x Ø 20.
Fastening the supporting tube to the base plate.
1.Lay the base plate down with the bent corners facing downwards.
2.Screw the supporting tube to the base plate with the screws
M10 x 20 (included in the shipment) and the serrated lock washers Ø 10,5. The pedal has to be located above the base plate von
the same side as the operator; it must not project over the base
plate.
Safety instructions:
• Make sure that the tyre spreader is located at a sufficient distance
from other machines / walls etc.
We recommend keeping free a working radius of 100 cm around
the tyre spreader.
• Mind hidden electric cables etc. while drilling! Risk of electric
shock!
• Make sure that the ground is firm enough (concrete etc.)!
III. Montage de l’appareil
Fixation de la platine directement sur le sol
1.A l´aide d´une perceuse, faire quatre trous de Ø 14 mm et d´une
profondeur de 95 mm, l´un situé à 170 mm de l´autre.
2. Insérer dans les trous les chevilles S14 fournies avec l´appareil.
3. Fixer le pied support au sol avec les 4 vis 10 x 60 et les ron­delles
Ø 10,5 x Ø 20 dans les chevilles S14.
Fixation du pied support sur la platine
1. Poser la platine sur le sol, les extrémités courbes
tournées vers le bas.
2. Visser le pied support sur la platine avec les vis M10 x 20 fournies
avec l´appareil et les rondelles éventail Ø 10,5.
La pédale doit être située au-dessus de la platine, du côté de
l´utilisateur. Il ne faut pas qu´elle dé passe de la platine.
Consignes de sécurité:
• Installer l´écarteur à une distance suffisante des murs et des autres
appareils etc. Distance recommandée autour de l´écarteur: environ 100 cm.
• Lors des travaux de perçage, veillez à ne pas toucher de câbles
électriques cachés! Risque d´électrocution!
• Veillez à une stabilité suffisante du sol (béton etc.)!

As TIP TOP accessories are very reliable , thanks to their construction
and the high quality of their parts and materials, they have long intervals between servicing.
For safety and warranty reasons, damaged parts should immediately
be replaced by original TIP TOP spare parts. Any work which exceeds
maintenance work has to be carried out only by a specialist.

VII. Gerätehandhabung
1.Voreinstellung der Spannhaken je nach Reifenbreite: Durch Herausdrehen der Festellschraube (1) kann der Spannhaken kurz (2) in
zwei unterschiedlichen Höhen in den Fixier­boh­rungen verstellt werden. Durch Ziehen des Kugelkopfes (3) kann der Spannhaken lang
(4) in 6 verschiedenen Positionen eingerastet werden. (Abb. 1)
2.Reifen auf REP-BOY stellen und zuerst kurzen Spannhaken (2) am
Wulst ansetzen, anschließend den gegenüberliegenden zweiten
Spannhaken (4) am Wulst ansetzen und den Spann­hebel (5) nach
unten drücken. (Abb. 2)
Wichtig: Bei zu geringer Spreizung den Spannhaken lang (4) eine Stufe weiter nach außen setzen.
Sicherheitshinweis:
• Beim Versetzen des Spannhakens (4) muss der Reifen im nicht­
gespreizten Zustand sein.
• Wulste vor dem Spreizvorgang säubern und auf mögliche Beschädigungen überprüfen.
• Beim Spreizvorgang auf sicheren Sitz der Spreizhaken am Wulst
achten!
3.Den Fixierbügel (6) bei jeder Spreizung in den Spannhaken lang
(4) einsetzen, so dass der Spannhebel (5) nicht mehr nach oben
gedrückt werden kann. (Abb. 3)
4.Der Spanntisch (7) kann mit den Reifen durch Drücken des Fuß­
pedales (8) in 4 Stellungen abgeschwenkt werden, so kann durch
Drehen (360°) des Spanntisches (7) der Reifen in jeder gewünschten Position gehalten werden.

Info: Durch Aufsetzen einer Lampe mit Magnetfuß (Art.Nr. 517 4522)
auf dem Zustellrohr (9) kann der Innenbereich des Reifens gut ausgeleuchtet werden.
5.Beim Ausspannen des Reifens zuerst den Spanntisch (7) geradestellen, dann den Fixierbügel (6) aus dem Spannhaken lang (4)
nehmen und den Spannhebel (5) nach oben schwenken. (Abb. 5)

VII. Handling the tool
1.Presetting the tenter hooks depending o tyre widths. The short
tenter hook (2) can be adjusted to two different heights by tightening the locking screw (1) in the appropriate mounting hole. The
long tenter hook (4) can be engaged in six different positions by
pulling the spherical button (3). (Fig. 1)
2.Position the tyre on the REP-BOY; place the short tenter hook (2)
on the bead first, then place the opposite tenter hook (4) on the
bead, and press the tension lever (5) down. (Fig. 2)
Important: If the beads are not spread wide enough, pull the long
tenter hook (4) one step further out wards.
Safety instructions:
• Completely relax the tyre beads before adjusting the tenter hook (4).
• Clean the beads before spreading them, and check them for damage.
• When spreading a tyre, make sure that the tenter hooks are safely
seated on the beads.
3.Before spreading the tyre, always insert the safety latch (6) in the
long tenter hook (4), in such a way that the tension lever (5) can no
longer be pushed upwards. (Fig. 3)
4.By pressing the pedal (8), you can incline the clamping plate (7)
together with the tyre into four positions; in addition, the clamping
plate (7) can be turned (360°); thus the tyre can be held in every
required position. (Fig. 4)
Note: With a magnetic lamp (ref.no. 517 4522) fitted on the sliding
tube (9), you can ensure sufficient illumination of the tyre inside.
5.To relax the tyre beads, move the clamping plate (7) back into the
horizontal position first, then take the safety latch (6) out of the long
tenter hook (4), and move the tension lever (5) up­wards. (Fig. 5)

1. Réglage préalable des crochets de fixation en fonction de la largeur du pneu: Vous pouvez fixer le crochet court de fixation (2)
à deux niveaux différents, en vissant la vis de fixation (1) dans le
trou de fixation approprié. Vous pouvez engager le crochet long de
fixation (4) dans 6 positions différentes en tirant la poignée sphérique (3). (Fig. 1)
2. Mettre le pneu sur le REP-BOY. Placer d´abord le crochet court de
fixation (2) sur le talon, puis positionner l´autre crochet de fixation
(4) (situé en face) sur le talon; appuyer sur le levier de tension (5).

Instruction importante: Si les talons ne sont pas suffisamment
écartés, déplacer le crochet long de fixation (4) d´un échelon vers
l´extérieur.
Consignes de sécurité:
• Lorsque vous déplacez le crochet de fixation (4), le pneu doit être
complètement détendu.
• Nettoyer les talons avant de les écarter et vérifier qu´ils ne possè
dent pas de dommages.
• Lorsque vous écartez le pneu, assurez-vous que les crochets de
fixation sont fixés correctement sur les talons.
3. Chaque fois que vous écartez le pneu, insérer le verrou de sûreté
(6) dans le crochet long de fixation (4), afin d´empêcher que le
levier de tension (5) soit poussé vers le haut. (Fig. 3)
4. En appuyant sur la pédale (8), vous pouvez incliner le plateau de
serrage (7) avec le pneu de manière à le mettre dans 4 positions
différentes; il est également possible de pivoter le plateau de serrage (7) (360°), ce qui permet de maintenir le pneu dans toutes les
positions convenables. (Fig. 4)
Remarque: Une lampe magnétique (réf. 517 4522) montée sur le support coulissant (9) permet de bien éclairer l´intérieur du pneu.
5. Pour détacher le pneu, procédez comme suit: Remettre le plateau
de serrage (7) en position horizontale; ensuite enlever le verrou
de sûreté (5) du crochet long de fixation (4) et pousser le levier de
tension (5) vers le haut. (Fig. 5)
