NATURE DE LA POSITION:
Cet emploi est subventionné par l’Institut de Recherche en Santé du Canada (IRSC). Sous la supervision
de Dr. Melissa Henry et Dr. Robin Cohen, la personne embauchée déploiera l’intervention MeaningMaking intervention (MMi) auprès de patients nouvellement diagnostiqués d’un cancer en stade avancé.
L’intervention est une approche brève et individualisée développée pour faciliter la recherche de sens
suivant un nouveau diagnostique de cancer. Une formation et supervision continues seront fournies.
L’intervention sera déployée au domicile du patient ou à l’hôpital.
PRE-REQUIS:
• Le ou la candidat/e doit être un membre courant en règle de l’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec,
l’Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec, ou l’Ordre des
infirmières et infirmiers du Québec
• Complètement bilingue (anglais et français parlé).
• Confortable avec des personnes qui sont gravement malade et possiblement mourantes.
• Confortable de discuter de questions existentielles.
• Expérience préalable dans le milieu de l’oncologie (au moins un an) est désirable.
• Flexibilité au niveau de l’horaire pour le projet.
SALAIRE:
• Le salaire sera basé sur l’échelle de l’Institut Lady Davis de recherches médicales.

Study: Randomized Controlled Trial of the Meaning-Making Intervention
(MMi) for Patients Newly Diagnosed With Advanced Cancer: Full Study

NATURE OF THE POSITION:
This large trial is funded through a research grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research
(CIHR). Under the supervision of Drs. Melissa Henry and Robin Cohen, the incumbent will deliver the
Meaning-Making intervention (MMi) with people newly diagnosed with advanced cancer. The MeaningMaking intervention is a brief, individualized approach designed to facilitate a search for meaning
following a new cancer diagnosis. Extensive training and supervision will be provided throughout. The
intervention will be delivered in the patient’s home or the hospital.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• The candidate must be a current Member of either the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec, the Ordre des
travailleurs sociaux et thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec, or the Ordre des infirmières et
infirmiers du Québec
• Complete fluency in both French and English (oral) is necessary.
• Comfortable with people who are very ill and possibly dying.
• Comfortable addressing existential issues.
• Prior exposure to oncology (at least one year) is desirable.
• Flexibility in hours is an asset
SALARY:
• Salary will be based on the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research scales.
