La conférence annuelle a eu lieu les 7, 8 et 9 mai, à l’hôtel Hilton à Edmonton. Le thème
était: L’harmonie universelle à travers les langues, et ce congrès était présenté
conjointement avec The Modern Language Council of the Alberta Teacher’s Association.
Les co-présidents de la conférence étaient : Marcel Gravel et Edmond Levasseur. La pré
conférence, qui a eu lieu le jeudi soir, comprenait plusieurs événements notamment une
séance plénière, dont le thème était : Le curriculum multidimensionnel et le syllabus
communicatif/expérientiel, des ateliers et des pauses. Les présentateurs de ces séances

La conférence a commencé le jeudi soir, avec l’inscription et l’ouverture officielle. Il y a
eu un vin et fromage offert par Prentice Hall. Tôt le lendemain matin, il y a eu d’autres
inscriptions et le discours de la conférencière principale Anne Medina, suivi par des
ateliers, et des séances d’intérêts spéciaux. Il y a eu des séances de partage
d’information pour les professeurs s’intéressant aux thèmes de français, de l’allemand, de
langues autochtones, par Pacific Rim, l’apprentissage de la langue et l’ambassade
d’Espagne. Le soir, il y a eu un banquet, un spectacle culturel et une danse. Les

The Annual Conference took place May 7-9, 1992 at the Hilton Hotel in Edmonton. The
theme was: Global Harmony through languages and was presented in conjunction with
the Modern Language Council of the Alberta Teacher’s Association. The co-chairs were
J. Marcel Gravel and Edmond Levasseur. The pre-conference, which took place on
Thursday night, included many events such as a plenary, the theme being the
Multidimensional Curriculum and the Communicative/Experiential Syllabus, workshops
and a few breaks. The presenters for these sessions were as follows:

The actual conference then commenced on the Thursday night, with registration and the
official opening. There was a wine and cheese hosted by Prentice Hall. Early the next
morning, there was additional registration and a keynote address by Anne Medina,
followed by the workshops, and special interest group meetings. There were Teacher
Sharing Sessions, regarding French, German, Native Languages, Pacific Rim, Language
Learning and Embassy Spain. That evening, there was a banquet, cultural performance
