Enhancing Safety and Security
Questions Continued
Q: What is the purpose of the ID card?
As part of government’s commitment to
enhancing the safety and security of
visitors and employees in government
buildings, security improvements continue
to be implemented at the Provincial
Administration Buildings (PAB Complex) in
Charlottetown, including access to buildings
and use of employee IDs and visitor passes.
A: The photo ID identifies you as an
employee of a particular department
and allows you access within the PAB
Complex. It is proof to the business
community and the public in general
that you represent and/or have
certain authorities as an employee of
government.
This brochure is designed to help you
understand these improvements.

card / photo IDs be used to track
employees’ movements in, out, and
within the buildings?

current departmental ID and obtain a new
one from your new department.
Q: Where can I obtain more
information?
A: For more information on IDs contact
your departmental Human Resources
representative. For information on other
security measures call 368-5132.
Government employees visiting the PAB

issued a temporary access
card to be worn for the
duration of their visit.
For Visitors
A: No, the electronic access system was
established for security purposes only.
Q: Do I have to get a new electronic
access card / photo ID if I change
departments?
