CTA Annual Report 2008
Information Products and Services Department (IPSD) The main objectives of IPSD are to increase the availability of information and improve awareness of information sources. This department focuses on providing information on agriculture and rural development, encouraging greater involvement of ACP authors and publishers in publishing activities, promoting the use of various media, and integrating information dissemination activities. The department’s activities are structured around the following: Print and electronic production of CTA’s institutional publications and those produced in collaboration with other publishers and development agencies. The department produces radio (Rural Radio Resource Packs) and television programmes as well as content for distribution via digital satellite. The Publications Distribution Service (PDS) distributes the titles on CTA’s publications list. Publications that have no CTA involvement are distributed through the Dissemination of Reference Books on Agriculture (DORA) programme to pre-selected organisations. The Question-and-Answer Service (QAS), Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) Service, and Database Subscription Programmes help a wide cross-section of ACP users to access a variety of information on relevant topics.
