Posada de Vallina is located in the heart of the Jewish quarter , opposite the south of the Mosque­ Cathedral of Cordoba, just steps from the wall of the Alcázar
Reyes Cristianos and the Puente Romano , in an old house built before the construction of the mosque ( 785 AD by Abderrahman ) .
This home was enabled by Alarifes ( Builders of the Mosque ) and later in the Middle Ages became the Posada Maestre , possibly the most important inn in Spain , thanks to its location on the Via Augusta, place the
circulations settlers and merchants of the time.
Voices Popular mentioned that in the current room 204 , Christopher Columbus was staying.
It was subsequently used as a dwelling and today is the Hotel Hacienda Posada de Vallina .
