The map presents an overview of the thickness of surficial materials over bedrock. It is based on
interpolations of depth values from wells, other drillings, and seismic investigations. The locations of
rock outcrops from geological maps have also been used.
The uncertainty of the calculated depth values increases with distance from drill sites and rock
outcrops. For distances exceeding several hundred meters, the uncertainty is considerable. Drill sites
are shown only on the maps in scales of 1:50 000 and 1:100 000.
