Summary Résume Harnessing wind energy for power generation is highly increasing in the entire world and especially in France. As a result, wind turbines reliability is becoming more and more important in France and especially in Picardie region. Regarding the recent studies on wind turbine reliability, there is a lack of fault detection in the wind turbines monitoring systems. For this, here the analysis of electrical signals from the generator is presented as an alternative for monitoring and preventive maintenance of wind turbines. Accordingly, the effect of the planetary gearbox on the stator current of the induction generator for the wind turbine application is presented. In this thesis we have developed a dynamic model of variable speed wind turbine, in which we have considered the model of induction generator with a wound rotor connected to the network by back -toback converter and also the dynamic model of planetary gearbox for the first time. For that this work presents a generic dynamic model of planetary gearbox which includes essential non-linearities. This model needs the minimum number of parameters. The proposed wind turbine model is simulated with MATLAB software. It has been shown and confirmed theoretically that the oscillations of the transmission can be detected by monitoring the current of the induction generator for a wind turbine. This provides a less expensive, more efficient and innovative alternative for the vibration monitoring.
