GRILT - Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire en langues et technologies du CCERBAL Journée du GRILT: 1er mai 2015 Dans le cadre des activités du GRILT parrainés par la chaire de recherche en ALAO. Conférence plénière : 10h à 11h30, Pasteur 286 CALL ergonomics: a promising interdisciplinary field Catherine Caws, University of Victoria & Marie-Josée Hamel, University of Ottawa We will start our presentation by reviewing the core concepts that frame ergonomics from both educational and web design perspectives (the what of ergonomics). By (re) thinking of the many options that ergonomics offer, we will cover and revisit key concepts and studies. We will then focus on the field of CALL ergonomics by looking at the evidences and motives that support its development. Why would we want to apply ergonomics principles to CALL research and practices? Finally, we will comment on several engineering methods that researchers and practitioners can explore. In doing do, we will focus on the How of ergonomics, arguing that methods used in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Software Design (SD) and Human-Centred Design (HCD) constitute excellent complement to current practices in CALL ergonomics.
