3. Mount the bore cylinder on the KSystem syringe.
 Before each use, the user must check the condition of the
instruments (using used blades might increase the risk of
overheating of the bone).
 Never mount the blade alone on the contra-angle or on the hand
piece.
 Never connect a bore cylinder and a drilling blade of different
diameters.

Read the warning on how to use the K-System
before any application. This product is intended
exclusively for medical professionals (dentists,
maxillofacial surgeons, stomatologists).
4. Inject the crushed bone at the height
of the receiving site, pressing over the
piston of the K-System syringe while
keeping the syringe body still.
DESCRIPTION
The K-System consists of an FTBO (Boring Drill Bone Crusher) a
patented device and its injecting syringe. The FTBO consists of a
bore cylinder with teeth at its fore end and a blade drill that is
adapted to be mounted in a fixed way to the bore cylinder. This
gadget is mounted on a contra-angle or a slowly rotating hand
piece. The fine needle core picked up by the bore is immediately
crushed by the blade. The crushed bone gradually fills the bore
cylinder. The bore cylinder is disconnected from the contra-angle,
the drill blade is removed from the boring drill and the latter is then
mounted on a syringe adapted for further injection.
OPERATING METHOD
1. Ascertain the stability of the bore tool
on the blade. Mount the FTBO on a
contra-angle or a hand piece. Apply slight
traction on the tool to make sure it is in
place. Ascertain very carefully the rotating
direction of the FTBO before each use, a
reverse
rotating
direction
could
disconnect the boring cylinder from the
drill blade. Drill at the height of the bone
withdrawal under irrigation and at a slow
speed (max 500 rotations per minute). Do
not drill past point 11.
2. Pull the FTBO out of the contra- angle.
Disassemble the bore cylinder from the
drill blade with the help of the FTBO
disassembly key provided in kits n°1 and
n°2 or available separately.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
DISINFECTION, CLEANING AND STERILISATION
The parts of the K-System must be disinfected, cleaned and
sterilised before the first use and immediately after being used
on a patient.
The following procedure must be used by trained and protected
personnel (gloves, overalls, glasses) through the whole operation.
 Disinfection: The elements of the K-System must be washed in a
bath with a disinfecting solution to disinfect the dirty instruments
(Use the disinfecting solution labelled
compatible with stainless
steel and Teflon, according to the manufacturer’s instructions).
 1st rinse: Rinse to eliminate the disinfecting solution.
INDICATIONS
Indications on when a ground autogenous maxillary bone implant is
necessary:
 Periodontal surgery
 Implant surgery :
 bone removal simultaneously with the preparation of the
implant site
 immediate implantation
 SUMMERS technique
 sinus lift procedure
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
All the usual contra-indications linked to bone graft. K-System has
not been designed to be used during orthopedic procedures.
SIDE- EFFECTS
The user must watch the following points to decrease as much as
possible the side-effects due to the use of FTBO.
The use of a drill at too high a speed or the use of a used drill
increases the risk of overheating of the bone. The use of irrigation is
indispensable when drilling to decrease the overheating of the bone.
 Cleaning: After the 1st rinse, disassemble the syringe and the
FTBO, then soak all these elements in an ultrasound bath
containing an appropriate cleaning solution. Clean by hand using
a soft brush to get rid of all the fragments lodged inside the body
of the syringes and the FTBO tubes (bone, biomaterials, blood,...).
 2nd rinse: Rinse for the second time to get rid of the cleaning
solution.
 Drying: Dry the instruments very well.
 Inspection: After drying examine all of the components and make
sure they work well.
 Sterilisation: Put the elements of the K-System, in an autoclave
pouch and seal it. The sterilisation must take place inside an
autoclave made for the sterilisation of surgical instruments. Select
a sterilisation cycle of 135°C for 20 minutes. (Follow the autoclave
manufacturer’s instructions).

3. Monter le tube trépan sur la seringue
du K-System.
 Avant chaque utilisation, l'utilisateur est tenu de vérifier l'état des
instruments (l'utilisation de lames usées entraîne une
augmentation du risque d'échauffement de l'os).
 Ne jamais monter la lame seule sur le contre-angle ou sur la pièce
à main.
 Ne jamais connecter un tube trépan et un foret lame de diamètre
différent.

du K-System. Ce produit s'adresse exclusivement à
des professionnels de la médecine (chirurgiens
dentistes, chirurgiens maxillo-faciaux,
stomatologistes).
4. Injecter l'os broyé au niveau du site
receveur, en effectuant une pression
sur le piston de la seringue du KSystem tout en maintenant fermement
le corps de la seringue.
DESCRIPTION
Le K-System est constitué du FTBO (Foret Trépan Broyeur d’Os)
dispositif breveté et de sa seringue d’injection.
Le FTBO est constitué, d’un tube trépan comportant à son extrémité
avant des dents, et d’un ensemble foret lame qui est adapté à être
monté d’une manière amovible sur le tube trépan. Ce dispositif est
monté sur un contre-angle ou une pièce à main tournant à basse
vitesse. La carotte prélevée par le trépan est immédiatement broyée
par la lame. Le broyat osseux remplit progressivement le tube
trépan. Le foret trépan est désaccouplé du contre-angle, le foret
lame est retiré du tube trépan, ce dernier est ensuite monté sur une
seringue adaptée pour son injection ultérieure.
PROTOCOLE OPERATOIRE
1. Vérifier la stabilité du trépan sur la lame.
Monter le FTBO sur un contre-angle ou une
pièce à main. Exercer une légère traction sur
l'outil pour vérifier que celui-ci est en place.
Vérifier impérativement le sens de rotation du
FTBO avant chaque utilisation, un sens de
rotation inversé, pourrait désaccoupler le tube
trépan du foret lame. Forer au niveau du site
de prélèvement osseux sous irrigation et à
faible vitesse (500 tours/min max). Ne pas
forer au delà du repère 11.
2. Retirer le FTBO du contre-angle.
Démonter le tube trépan du foret lame à l’aide
de la clé de démontage pour FTBO fournie
dans les kits n°1 et n°2 ou disponible
séparément.
RECOMMANDATIONS D’UTILISATION
DECONTAMINATION, NETTOYAGE ET STERILISATION
Les éléments du K-System doivent être désinfectés, nettoyés,
séchés et stérilisés avant la première utilisation et
immédiatement après l’utilisation sur un patient.
Le procédé suivant sera mis en œuvre par du personnel formé et
protégé (gants, blouse, lunettes de protection).
 Décontamination : Les éléments du K-System doivent être
immergés dans un bain contenant une solution de désinfection
afin de décontaminer les instruments souillés (Utiliser la solution
désinfectante marquée
compatible avec l’acier inox et le
téflon, conformément aux instructions du fabricant).
INDICATIONS
Les indications où une greffe d'os maxillaire autogène broyé est
nécessaire :

CONTRE-INDICATIONS
Toutes les contre-indications habituelles liées à une greffe osseuse.
Le K-System n’a pas été conçu pour être utilisé en orthopédie.
EFFETS INDESIRABLES
L’utilisateur doit porter son attention sur les points suivants pour
diminuer au maximum les risques d’effets indésirables liés à
l’utilisation du FTBO.
L’utilisation du foret à vitesse trop élevée ou l’utilisation d’un foret
usé augmentent le risque d’échauffement de l’os. L’utilisation d’une
irrigation est indispensable lors du forage pour diminuer
l’échauffement de l’os.
 Rinçage n°1 : Effectuer un premier rinçage pour éliminer la
solution désinfectante.
 Nettoyage : Après le rinçage n°1, démonter la seringue et le
FTBO puis immerger tous ces éléments dans un bain à ultrasons
contenant une solution nettoyante appropriée. Effectuer un
nettoyage manuel à l’aide d’une brosse souple afin d’éliminer tous
les débris déposés dans le corps de la seringue et dans le tube du
FTBO (os, biomatériaux, sang, …).
 Rinçage n°2 : Effectuer un deuxième rinçage pour éliminer la
solution nettoyante.
 Séchage : Bien sécher les instruments.
 Inspection : Après le séchage inspecter tous les composants et
vérifier leur bon fonctionnement.
 Stérilisation : Insérer les éléments du K-System, dans un sachet
autoclavable et le sceller. (les éléments du K-System doivent être
démontés pour assurer une stérilisation optimale de tous les
éléments). La stérilisation s’effectue dans un autoclave prévu pour
stériliser des instruments chirurgicaux. Sélectionner un cycle de
stérilisation à 135°C pendant 20 minutes. (Se reporter aux
instructions du fabricant de l’autoclave).
