The DxO Optics Pro interface.

Welcome to a software world that offers you countless possibilities.
DxO Optics Pro is a powerful software application that includes many
highly-effective and automatic tools for processing your RAW and
JPEG images.
Unlike most software programs on the market which require you to
manually apply numerous correction settings, DxO Optics Pro can
automatically and precisely correct each of your images.
DxO Optics Pro is based on DxO Labs’ exclusive method of prior
laboratory calibration and characterization of equipment just
like yours. These measurements are incorporated in DxO Optics
Modules, which the software uses to automatically correct your
equipment’s intrinsic flaws.
Thanks to this characterization, DxO Optics Pro automatically
corrects optical and geometric distortion, vignetting, chromatic
aberrations, and lens softness with unrivaled quality. Its many tools
allow you to optimize the exposure and contrast, reduce noise, and
preserve the colors and details in your images.
1.2. Basic
principles of a work session
DxO Optics Pro has been designed to give you a great deal of freedom
in the way you process your images: you can work on your images
directly from your hard drive, or you can combine them into one or
more Projects.
NOTE
A project is an easy way to gather and manage a group of
images that you want to process simultaneously.
DxO Optics Pro does not alter or modify your original image files;
it associates each image file with a set of corrections, stored in a
sidecar file (bearing a “.dop” extension) along with the original file.
So you can modify or undo the corrections at any time.

1.1. Welcome!
The three steps in a DxO Optics Pro work session involve two tabs
and one export function.
DxO Optics Pro’s presets, its performance, its intuitive interface, and
its smooth and quick workflow will let you bring out the best in your
photos in just a few clicks, regardless of the shooting conditions!

Upon launching the application, the Organize tab lets you work on
your images directly from your folders in your hard drive directory,
or on selected images that you have grouped together as Projects.
The Customize tab lets you automatically or manually correct your
images and immediately see the results. Your settings will be applied
definitively when you export the corrected images. You can also save
your various corrections and settings as custom presets, which you
can then apply later on to other photos.
NOTE
All your corrections are saved in real time. If you close the
application, you will find all of the same settings applied to
your images when you reopen the software.
You can export your images from either the Customize tab or the
Organize tab, by selecting the Export to disk command in the Image
browser toolbar, which will open a menu showing the different
export options.

Correcting and processing your first images
The Organize tab.

As soon as you’ve stored your images on your hard drive, processing
them with DxO Optics Pro will take you only a few minutes.
2.1. The
NOTE
With Mac OS X, projects are found in the same directory as
folders. With Microsoft Windows, projects are shown in a
separate directory at the bottom of the navigation panel.
Organize tab
When you open DxO Optics Pro, you’ll see the first of two tabs,
Organize, representing the first of the three steps in processing your
photos. The navigation panel on the left lets you browse between two
types of image sources:
The folder directory structure on your hard drive.
The projects you have created in DxO Optics Pro.
You can browse among your folders or projects to find the images
that you want to process.
Step 1 – Select a folder or a project. Its contents will be displayed
as thumbnails in the Image browser located at the bottom of the
application window. You organize and choose your images in this
pane, which also lets you change the size of the thumbnails, add
notes to, or delete your images.
As soon as the Image browser displays the images, DxO Optics Pro offers
to automatically download the DxO Optics Module(s) corresponding to
your images.

NOTE
DxO Optics Pro reads the characteristics of the camera and
lens saved in the image EXIF metadata. This information allows
DxO Optics Pro to identify the appropriate DxO Optics Module
to use to automatically apply the optimal corrections to your
photos.
The icon in the upper right corner of each thumbnail in the Image
browser informs you about the status of the DxO Optics Module
corresponding to that image:
In the third case (“DxO Optics Module available, but needs
to be downloaded”), DxO Optics Pro presents you a list of
DxO Optics Modules identified via your image’s EXIF metadata as
matching your equipment, and asks you to select the one you want
to download.

A blue star-shaped icon
placed above the status icon indicates
that the file is waiting to be processed by DxO Optics Pro.

Step 2 – Click on a thumbnail. The image will be displayed in the
Image window. A group of settings (called a preset, and in this
instance, the DxO standard preset) is automatically applied to the
image. The DxO standard preset corrects lens flaws and digital
noise, and optimizes the exposure and the dynamic range.

2.2. The
Customize tab
In the Customize tab, you will find the Image browser and the Image window in which you preview the corrections applied to your images.

You will find the following palettes on the left side of the workspace:
• Move/Zoom: For zooming in and out and moving around in the
image.
Step 1 – In the Image browser, click on the thumbnail of the image
that you want to process. DxO Optics Pro will automatically apply to
your image the DxO standard preset, which comprises the following
corrections:
• White balance: Set to As shot.
• Exposure compensation: Set to Smart.
• EXIF (image properties/data): Displays the principal shooting
conditions and the exposure, as well as information relative to the
camera and lens used.
• DxO Smart Lighting: Set to Slight.
• Preset Editor: Displays the available presets and allows you to
create your own custom presets.
• Distortion: Automatic, based on the DxO Optics Module used.
On the right side of the workspace:
• Chromatic aberration: Automatic.
• Histogram: Displays the distribution and the light levels for each
RGB (red, green, blue) color channel present in the image.
• Lens softness: Activated with a medium correction (–0.50).
• Essential Tools: Contains all the basic tools that are indispensable
to image correction.
The Light and Color – Advanced, Detail and Geometry – Advanced,
and Optical Corrections palettes contain advanced settings.
NOTE
For a more complete description of the palettes, see section
4.2 below.
• Noise reduction: Set to High quality.
• Vignetting: Automatic, based on the DxO Optics Module used.

The very first time you launch DxO Optics Pro, the Customize tab
displays only the most important palettes containing the most
essential corrections to apply to your images.
All other available corrections are deactivated.
Step 2 – In the Essential Tools palette, go into (for example) the White
Balance sub-palette. Make your settings with the help of the available
sliders and drop-down menus. DxO Optics Pro will immediately
display the results of your corrections in the Image window.
During your first attempts, go ahead and play around with the sliders to
see how they affect the appearance of your photos. All the corrections
can be undone and will not affect your original image.

NOTE
To truly see the results of such corrections as Noise, Chromatic
aberration, or Lens Softness, we recommend that you display
your image at a pixel ratio of 1:1 (zoom level 100%). You can
easily zoom in to 100% by double-clicking in the area of the
image that you want to inspect. (A second double-click will
return you to the original zoom display level.)
Step 3 – Proceed to adjust any other needed settings by successively
going through the Exposure Compensation, DxO Smart Lighting, or
Contrast palettes.
2.3. Exporting
images
To definitively apply the corrections you make in the Customize tab, you
will need to export your images. This step involves the creation of new
files. By default, these new files are in high-quality JPEG format and are
stored in the same working directory as the original image files.
Step 1 – Click on the Export to disk button on the right of the
command bar in the Image browser.
Step 2 – The Export options floating window displays so that you can
choose and set the format (JPEG, TIFF, DNG), the quality, and the
destination of the files to be exported.
Of course, you can use whatever palettes you want, including those
with advanced features. Consult the DxO Optics Pro 9 User Guide for
more details.

Step 3 – After you have made your settings, click on the Export
button.
Two kinds of information appear in the Image browser:
• After your images have been exported, the icon situated in the
upper right corner of the thumbnails in the Image browser will
display the processing status of each image:

Presets
3.1. What
is a preset?
Presets let you easily apply a set of corrections to one or more
images without having to adjust all of the tools and settings in each
sub-palette. By using presets, you can apply your favorite settings
to your photos to achieve the result you want, while maintaining the
possibility of fine-tuning the corrections for each image.
The presets are divided into five categories: General purpose,
Portrait and Landscape, Black & White, Atmospheres, and High
Dynamic Range.
The General purpose presets category include, notably, the
DxO standard preset, which is applied by default to all new images.
You can find more detailed descriptions of other provided presets in
the DxO Optics Pro 9 User Guide.
NOTE
You can create your own presets: after you apply all the
corrections you want to your image, right-click on its thumbnail
in the Image browser, and select Create preset from current
settings in the context menu.

3.2. Applying
presets
There are several ways to apply a preset to an image:
• By clicking on the Preset button: A floating window displays a
preview of all available presets.
• By right-clicking on a thumbnail in the Image browser.
• From the Preset Editor (Customize tab).
You can also apply correction settings from one image to other
images as follows:
• Right-click on the thumbnail of the corrected image in the Image
browser.
• Choose Copy correction settings in the context menu.
• Select the destination image in the Image browser.
• Right-click on the selected destination image and choose Paste
correction settings in the context menu.
TIP
The keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z (PC) or Cmd + Z (Mac OS X) lets
you cancel the correction and return to the previous settings.

command bar
The command bar.
The command bar runs along the top of the Image window. It is a user
interface element that is available in any workspace, whether custom
or default, and contains the following commands (from left to right):
Display and navigation tools
Compare: By clicking on this button and holding the
mouse or trackpad button down, you can temporarily display the
reference image (which by default is the original image before
correction).
Hand tool (Mac OS X only): Lets you move the visible part of the
image in any direction and to zoom in or out by double-clicking on
the image. While using another tool, you can temporarily call the
Hand tool by pressing down on your keyboard space bar.
TIP
You can also use a scrolling motion (via your mouse wheel or
trackpad) to zoom in and out on the image (if using a Mac, you
must simultaneously hold down the Cmd key).
Correction tools
Cropping.
Drop-down menu (at right): Lets you choose the reference image
(before or after correction) to compare with the displayed image.
Dust removal.
Straighten horizon.
Corrections in process: (Mac OS X only): Displays a preview of the
image currently undergoing correction.
Force parallel lines.
Rectangle.
Side-by-side display: The original image before correction and
the corrected image are displayed one next to the other.
Zoom: Lets you choose how large you want the image to
display on your screen. The drop-down menu lets you choose from
several common zoom sizes (from 25 to 400%), or you can enter a
value of your choice (up to 1600%).

The Preset button opens the preview and preset
selection window.

4.2.
Palettes
A palette is a logical grouping of sub-palettes. A sub-palette groups
together all of the settings and tools of a given correction — for
example, color temperature and tint are found in the White Balance
sub-palette.
TIP
To expand the contents of a sub-palette, click on the small
arrow on its left side.
The word “Auto” appearing to the right of the sub-palette name
indicates that DxO Optics Pro automatically optimizes the
corresponding corrections. If you change a parameter in these subpalettes and you want to return to DxO Optics Pro’s default optimal
values, click on the magic wand situated on the right side of the
setting in question.
Two other important icons can also appear in the sub-palettes:
advises you to zoom in at a minimum of
• The barred eye icon
75% in the image to be able to see the effects of certain corrections.
• The question mark icon lets you display context help that describes
what the sub-palette and its associated sliders do.

The Customize tab contains the following palettes:
Move/Zoom: lets you zoom in and out
of the image with the help of a slider
or by entering a percentage value;
identify where you are in the image;
and move around in the image in any
direction.
EXIF: displays the principal shooting
parameters and lets you add your
name and copyright notices.
Preset Editors: Groups all the
presets and allows you to manage
(i.e., add, modify, delete) them.
Histogram: displays the Luminance
as well as the tonal range and the
distribution of pixels in RGB mode
(or separately for any of the RGB
channels).
Essential Tools contains all of the
necessary tools for basic corrections
such as white balance, exposure,
selective tone, contrast, color
accentuation, reducing digital noise,
straightening horizon lines, fixing
perspective, and cropping.
Detail and Geometry – Advanced:
Corrects overall sharpness, moiré
patterns, dust specks, and volume
deformation.

Light and Color – Advanced contains
such advanced correction tools as
custom color rendering, tone curve,
and HSL (Hue / Saturation / Lightness
by color channel).
Optical Corrections: Lets you correct
distortion, vignetting (the darkening
of the corners and edges of an image),
chromatic
aberrations
(colored
fringing), and lets you optimize the
sharpness of the image.
DxO FilmPack: If DxO FilmPack
is installed on your computer, you
will be able to use it directly in
DxO
Optics
Pro,
which
will
automatically display its dedicated
palette.

Publishing, printing, and externally editing images
DxO Optics Pro lets you publish your images directly in your Flickr®
web gallery, print them, and open them in another application to
further retouch or correct them.
5.1. Publishing
your photos on Flickr®
5.2.
Print your photos
DxO Optics Pro lets you print your photographs. You can access
the dialog box from either the Organize or Customize tab, or from
the File menu, or by clicking on the
icon in the Image browser
command bar.
To transfer photos to you Flickr® gallery:
1. Select the images in the Image browser.
2. Select Export to Flickr on the right of the Image browser
command bar.
3. Click on Connect in the dialogue box to connect to your Flickr®
account.
4. Choose the format and the quality of the files.
5. Click on Export: the selected images are processed and then
transferred.
NOTE
To publish your images on Flickr®, you must have both a Flickr®
account and an active Internet connection.

The print dialog box (Microsoft Windows).
The dialog box displays a preview of the photo to be printed. Several
page setups are available: fill the page with photo; rotate the image;
add a caption from metadata (file name, date, etc.) and select its
position, font, and color.
Note that the dialog box also gives access to the print driver settings.
DxO Optics Pro’s print feature lets you print every kind of file that
DxO Optics Pro supports, including RAW-format images and virtual
copies.
NOTE
In the Microsoft Windows version, the printing tools appear in a
floating window, whereas the OS X version displays an operating
system dialog box.
5.3. Editing your photos in another
application
DxO Optics Pro lets you open your photos in a different application so
you can further retouch or apply more corrections to them. To do so:
1. Select the images in the Image browser.
2. On the right side of the Image browser command bar, select Export
to application.
3. In the dialog box, select the destination application either from
the saved list, or by browsing in your computer’s applications folder.
4. In the Action drop-down menu, choose the export format (JPEG,
TIFF, DNG, or original).
5. Click on Export: DxO Optics Pro will process the selected images
(that is, definitively apply your corrections to your images before
exporting them), after which they will open in the other application.

Further, you can adjust the margins and create contact sheets —
choosing the number of rows and columns and setting the size of
the photo cells either automatically or manually. You can create and
print several pages at a time.

Bienvenue dans un monde logiciel qui vous offre d’innombrables
possibilités.
DxO Optics Pro est un logiciel de traitement d’image puissant qui intègre
de nombreux outils performants et automatiques pour vous permettre de
traiter vos images RAW et JPEG.
Contrairement à la plupart des logiciels du marché, qui nécessitent
d’appliquer manuellement de nombreux réglages, DxO Optics Pro corrige
automatiquement, et avec une grande précision, chacune de vos images.
En effet, DxO Optics Pro repose sur une approche exclusive de calibration
préalable d’un matériel identique au vôtre dans les laboratoires de
DxO Labs. Les mesures réalisées sont modélisées dans des
modules optiques DxO, qui sont utilisés par le logiciel pour corriger
automatiquement les défauts intrinsèques de votre matériel.
Grâce à cette caractérisation, DxO Optics Pro corrige automatiquement,
et avec un niveau de qualité inégalé, les déformations optiques et
géométriques, le vignetage, les aberrations chromatiques et la netteté.
Ses nombreux outils vous permettent également d’optimiser l’exposition
et le contraste, de réduire le bruit et de préserver les couleurs et les
détails.
1.2. Les principes de base d’une session de
travail
DxO Optics Pro a été conçu pour vous donner une grande liberté
dans le traitement de vos images : vous pouvez aussi bien travailler
sur vos images telles qu’elles sont classées sur votre disque dur, ou
les regrouper dans un Projet.
NOTE
Un projet est un moyen simple de rassembler et de gérer un
groupe d’images que vous souhaitez traiter simultanément.
DxO Optics Pro n’altère ni ne modifie vos fichiers originaux. Ces
derniers sont associés à un ensemble de réglages enregistrés dans
un fichier annexe (portant l’extension « .dop »). De cette manière,
vous pouvez revenir à tout moment sur vos corrections ou les
modifier.

Une session de travail dans DxO Optics Pro se déroule en trois étapes,
matérialisées par deux onglets et une fonction d’exportation.
Les autoréglages proposés par DxO Optics Pro, ses performances,
son interface intuitive et son flux de production fluide et rapide vous
permettront de tirer, en quelques clics, le meilleur de vos photos, quelles
que soient les conditions de prises de vue !

Dès le démarrage du programme, l’onglet Organiser vous permet
de travailler directement sur vos images, en naviguant dans
l’arborescence des dossiers de votre ordinateur, ou dans vos
sélections d’images regroupées en Projets.
L’onglet Personnaliser vous permet de corriger automatiquement
ou manuellement vos images et de voir immédiatement le
résultat. Vos réglages seront appliqués de manière définitive lors
de l’exportation des images corrigées. Vous pouvez également
enregistrer vos corrections et réglages sous forme d’autoréglages,
que vous pourrez appliquer ultérieurement à d’autres photos.

NOTE
Toutes vos corrections sont enregistrées automatiquement en
temps réel. Si vous fermez le logiciel, vous retrouverez tous les
réglages effectués sur vos images à la réouverture.
L’exportation des images est accessible aussi bien dans l’onglet
Personnaliser que dans l’onglet Organiser, dans la barre de
commandes de l’Explorateur d’images, avec la commande Export
vers disque, qui va ouvrir un menu vous proposant différentes
options de sortie.

Dès que vos images sont stockées sur votre disque dur, les traiter
avec DxO Optics Pro ne vous prendra que quelques minutes.
2.1. L’onglet
NOTE
Sous Mac OS X, les projets sont présentés dans la même
arborescence que les dossiers. Sous Windows, ils sont
présentés séparément, en bas de la fenêtre.
Organiser
En ouvrant DxO Optics Pro, vous découvrez l’onglet Organiser.
Il correspond à la première des deux étapes du traitement de vos
photos. Le panneau de navigation, situé à gauche, vous permet de
parcourir deux types de source d’images :
La hiérarchie de dossiers présents sur le disque dur.
Les projets créés dans DxO Optics Pro.
Vous pouvez naviguer dans vos dossiers ou projets pour localiser les
images que vous souhaitez traiter.
Étape 1 - Sélectionnez un dossier ou un projet. Son contenu s’affiche
sous forme de vignettes dans l’Explorateur d’images situé en bas
de la fenêtre du programme. Ce panneau vous permet d’organiser
et sélectionner vos images : vous pouvez changer la taille des
vignettes, attribuer une note ou effacer vos images.
Une fois que l’Explorateur d’images affiche les images,
DxO Optics Pro vous proposera automatiquement de télécharger le
ou les modules optiques DxO correspondants à vos images.

NOTE
DxO Optics Pro lit les caractéristiques de l’appareil photo et de
l’objectif enregistrées dans les métadonnées EXIF de l’image.
Ces informations servent à identifier le module optique DxO
approprié, afin de déterminer automatiquement les corrections

L’icône bleue en forme d’étoile , placée au-dessus de l’icône
de statut des modules optiques, indique que le fichier est en
attente de traitement par DxO Optics Pro.

Étape 2 - Cliquez sur une vignette. L’image s’affiche dans le
panneau Image. Un ensemble de réglages (appelé « autoréglage »)

bruit numérique, et il optimise l’exposition et la dynamique.

Dans l’onglet Personnaliser, vous retrouvez l’Explorateur d’images ainsi que le panneau Image, qui vous permet de prévisualiser vos corrections.

Lors du premier lancement de DxO Optics Pro, l’onglet Personnaliser
propose un espace de travail qui affiche par défaut uniquement les
palettes les plus importantes pour appliquer les réglages essentiels
à vos images.
Étape 1 – Cliquez sur la vignette de l’image que vous souhaitez traiter
dans l’Explorateur d’images. DxO Optics Pro aura automatiquement
appliqué à votre image l’autoréglage DxO standard. Ce dernier
comprend les corrections suivantes :
Sur la partie gauche de l’espace de travail, vous trouverez les
palettes suivantes :
• Balance des blancs réglée sur Original.
• EXIF (Propriétés de l’image) : affiche les principaux paramètres
de prise de vue et d’exposition, ainsi que les informations relatives à
l’appareil photo et à l’objectif utilisés.
• Éditeur d’autoréglages : affiche les autoréglages disponibles et
permet de créer ses propres autoréglages.
Sur la partie droite de l’espace de travail :
• Histogramme : affiche la distribution et les niveaux de luminosité pour
chaque canal de couleur RVB (rouge, vert, bleu) présent dans l’image.
• Outils essentiels : contient tous les outils de base indispensables
à la correction des images.
Les palettes Lumière et couleur - Avancé, Détail et géométrie Avancé et Corrections optiques comportent des réglages avancés.
NOTE
Pour une description plus précise des palettes, consultez la
section 4.2 de ce guide.
• Compensation de l’exposition réglée sur Smart.
• DxO Smart Lighting réglé sur Léger.
• Réduction du bruit sur qualité Haute.
• Distorsion automatique basée sur le module optique DxO utilisé.
• Vignetage automatique basée sur le module optique DxO utilisé.
• Aberration chromatique automatique.
• Netteté de l’objectif activée avec une correction moyenne (-0,50).
Toutes les autres corrections disponibles sont désactivées.
Étape 2 – Sélectionnez par exemple, dans la palette Outils
essentiels, la sous palette Balance des blancs. Effectuez vos
réglages à l’aide des curseurs et menus déroulants disponibles. DxO
Optics Pro affiche immédiatement dans la fenêtre Image le résultat
de vos corrections.

• Déplacer/Zoomer : pour zoomer et se déplacer dans l’image.
Pour vos premiers essais, manipulez les curseurs à votre guise,
pour en découvrir l’incidence sur l’aspect de vos photos. Toutes les
corrections sont réversibles et n’affectent pas votre image d’origine.

NOTE
Pour apprécier le résultat de corrections comme le bruit, les
aberrations chromatiques ou la netteté de l’optique, il est
conseillé d’afficher l’image en pixels réels (niveau de zoom
100%). Vous pouvez facilement zoomer à 100% en faisant
un double-clic sur une zone de l’image que vous souhaitez
inspecter (un nouveau double-clic vous permettra de revenir
en zoom adapté).
Étape 3 – Procédez ensuite successivement aux autres réglages
nécessaires en accédant aux réglages des palettes Compensation
de l’exposition, DxO Smart Lighting, Contraste…
2.3. Exporter
les images
Pour appliquer les corrections effectuées dans l’onglet
Personnaliser, il est nécessaire de lancer le traitement de vos
images, ce qui va entraîner la création de nouveaux fichiers. Par
défaut, les images de sortie sont au format JPEG de haute qualité
et sont stockées dans le même répertoire que les images originales.
Étape 1 - Cliquez sur le bouton Export vers disque, à droite de la
barre de commandes de l’Explorateur d’images.
Étape 2 - Une fenêtre flottante d’Options de sortie s’affiche, vous
permettant de choisir et de régler le format (JPEG, TIFF, DNG…), la
qualité et la destination du ou des fichiers exportés.
Bien entendu, vous pouvez déployer les palettes et sous-palettes à
votre guise pour accéder aux fonctions avancées. Consultez le Guide
utilisateur de DxO Optics Pro 9 pour plus de détails.

des autoréglages
Il existe plusieurs manières d’appliquer un autoréglage à une image:
3.1. Qu’est-ce
qu’un autoréglage ?
Les autoréglages permettent d’appliquer très simplement un jeu de
réglages à une ou plusieurs images, sans entrer dans le détail des
sous-palettes et de tous leurs outils. En utilisant les autoréglages,
vous pouvez appliquer vos réglages favoris pour arriver au résultat
que vous souhaitez, et ensuite, au besoin, affiner les corrections de
chaque image.
Les autoréglages sont classés en cinq catégories : Usage général,
Portrait et Paysage, Noir et Blanc, Ambiances, HDR mono-image.
La catégorie Usage général comporte notamment l’autoréglage
DxO standard, qui est associé par défaut à toutes les nouvelles images.
Une description plus détaillée des autres autoréglages fournis est
disponible dans le guide utilisateur de DxO Optics Pro.
NOTE
Vous pouvez créer vos propres autoréglages : après avoir
appliqué vos corrections sur vos images, faites un clic-droit
sur la vignette, dans l’Explorateur d’images, et sélectionnez
dans le menu contextuel Créer un autoréglage à partir des
réglages courants.

ASTUCE
Le raccourci clavier Ctrl + Z (PC) ou Cmd + Z (Mac) vous permet
d’annuler la correction et de revenir aux réglages précédents.

4.1. La
barre des commandes
La barre de commandes.
La barre de commandes longe le haut de la fenêtre Image. Il s’agit
d’un élément d’interface disponible quel que soit l’espace de travail,
personnalisé ou par défaut. De gauche à droite, elle contient les
commandes suivantes :
Outil main (sur Mac uniquement) : permet de déplacer la partie
visible de l’image dans toutes les directions et de zoomer/dézoomer
en faisant un double-clic sur l’image. Lorsqu’un autre outil est
utilisé, il est possible de rappeler temporairement l’outil main en
pressant la barre espace.
ASTUCE
Vous pouvez zoomer dans l’image à l’aide de la molette de la
souris (sur Mac, appuyez simultanément sur la touche Cmd).
Outils d’affichage et de navigation :
Outils de correction :
Recadrage.
Menu déroulant (à droite) : permet de déterminer l’image de
référence (avant ou après correction) à comparer à l’image affichée.
Outil anti-poussières.
Corrections en cours : (Mac uniquement) : affiche un aperçu de
l’image en cours de correction.
Forcer les parallèles.
Affichage des images côte à côte : l’image originale, avant
correction, et l’image corrigée sont affichées l’une à côté de l’autre.
Pipette de balance des blancs.
Zoom : vous permet de choisir un taux d’agrandissement.
Le menu déroulant permet de choisir parmi des taux de zoom
communs (de 25 à 400%), ou de saisir une valeur de votre choix
(jusqu’à 1600 %).

le clic enfoncé, vous pouvez afficher temporairement l’image de
référence (qui est par défaut l’image originale avant correction).

4.2.
Les palettes
Une palette est un regroupement logique de sous-palettes. Une
sous-palette regroupe l’ensemble des réglages d’une correction
donnée, par exemple température de couleur et teinte dans la souspalette Balance des blancs.
ASTUCE
Pour déployer le contenu d’une sous-palette, cliquez sur la
petite flèche à gauche.
La mention « Auto » figurant à droite du titre de la barre de souspalette indique que les réglages de la correction correspondants
sont automatiquement optimisés par DxO Optics Pro. Si vous
modifiez un paramètre dans les sous-palettes et que vous souhaitez
revenir aux valeurs optimales recommandées par DxO Optics Pro,
cliquez sur la baguette magique située à droite du réglage concerné.
Deux autres indications importantes sont également visibles dans
les sous-palettes :
conseille de zoomer à 75 %
• L’icône représentant un œil barré
minimum dans l’image pour discerner les effets de certaines corrections.
• L’icône en point d’interrogation permet d’afficher une aide locale
décrivant le rôle de la sous-palette et le comportement des curseurs
associés.

Plusieurs options de mise en page sont disponibles : remplir la page
avec la photo, pivoter, ajouter une légende extraite des métadonnées
De plus, vous pouvez régler les marges, créer des planches-contact
en déterminant le nombre de rangées et de colonnes, et en réglant
la taille des cellules automatiquement ou manuellement. Vous
pouvez créer et imprimer plusieurs pages.
Notez que la boîte de dialogue donne accès aux réglages du pilote
d’impression. L’impression est permise avec tout type de fichier pris
en charge par DxO Optics Pro, y compris les images au format RAW
et les copies virtuelles.
NOTE
Dans la version Windows, les outils d’impression apparaissent
dans une fenêtre flottante tandis que sur Mac, il s’agit d’une
boîte de dialogue du système d’exploitation.
5.3. Éditez
vos photos
dans un autre programme
DxO Optics Pro vous permet d’ouvrir vos photos dans un autre
programme, par exemple pour des corrections ou des retouches
supplémentaires :
1. Sélectionnez les images dans l’Explorateur d’images.
2. Dans la barre de commandes de l’Explorateur d’images, tout à
droite, sélectionnez Export vers application.
3. Dans la boîte de dialogue, sélectionnez le programme de
destination, soit dans la liste mémorisée, soit en parcourant le
dossier des programmes de votre ordinateur.
4. Dans le menu déroulant Action, choisissez le format d’exportation
(JPEG, TIFF, DNG ou original).
5. Cliquez sur Exporter : les images sélectionnées sont traitées puis
ouvertes dans le programme externe.

Willkommen zu einer Softwarewelt, die Ihnen zahllose Möglichkeiten
eröffnet.
DxO Optics Pro ist ein leistungsfähiges Bildbearbeitungsprogramm,
das zahlreiche potente und automatische Werkzeuge enthält, um
Ihre RAW- und JPEG-Bilder zu verarbeiten.
Im Gegensatz zu dem Großteil von Programmen auf dem Markt, bei
denen die zahlreichen Einstellungen manuell vorgenommen werden
müssen, korrigiert DxO Optics Pro automatisch und mit großer
Präzision jedes einzelne Ihrer Bilder.
Tatsächlich basiert DxO Optics Pro auf einem exklusiven
Kalibrationsprozess in den Messlabors von DxO Labs mit
Fotoequipment wie dem Ihren. Aus den Messungen werden die
optischen DxO Module entwickelt, die das Programm für die
automatischen Korrekturen der jeweiligen Abbildungsfehler Ihrer
Fotoausrüstung nutzt.
Dank dieser Charakterisierung korrigiert DxO Optics Pro

DxO Optics Pro ist dafür bekannt, dass Sie große Freiheiten bei der
Bearbeitung Ihrer Bilder haben: Sie können individuell direkt mit
Ihren Bildern auf der Festplatte arbeiten, oder sie gruppieren die
Bilder in einem Projekt.
ANMERKUNG
Un projet est un moyen simple de rassembler et de gérer un
groupe d’images que vous souhaitez traiter simultanément.
DxO Optics Pro verändert oder modifiziert die Originaldateien
nicht. Stattdessen wird jeder Originaldatei ein Set an
Korrektureinstellungen zugeordnet, die in einer Einstellungsdatei
(mit der Dateiendung „*.dop“) neben dem eigentlichen Bild
gespeichert werden. So können Sie Ihre Korrekturen jederzeit

Die Verarbeitung Ihrer Bilder erfolgt in drei Schritten, die durch zwei
Register und einer Exportfunktion umgesetzt werden.
Die automatischen Einstellungen, die DxO Optics Pro bietet, die

Organisieren direkt auf Ihren Bildern arbeiten, die Sie in

Im Register Bearbeiten können Sie Ihre Bilder automatisch oder
manuell korrigieren und das Ergebnis sofort sehen. Während
des Exports der korrigierten Bilder werden Ihre Einstellungen
für die korrigierten Bilder letztlich angewendet. Sie können Ihre
Einstellungen außerdem in sogenannten Presets sichern und später
auf weitere Bilder anwenden.
ANMERKUNG
Alle Ihre Korrekturen werden ständig automatisch gesichert.
Wenn Sie das Programm schließen, werden Sie die Korrekturen
für diese Bilder nach dem Öffnen von DxO Optics Pro wieder
vorfinden.
Der Export der Bilder kann sowohl im Register Bearbeiten als auch
dem Register Organisieren gestartet werden. Dazu gibt es in der
Iconleiste des Bild-Browsers den Befehl Export auf Festplatte (PC)
bzw. Auswahl entwickeln (Mac), der ein Menü öffnet, das Ihnen die
verschiedenen Exportoptionen anbietet.

Sobald Ihre Bilder auf Ihrer Festplatte gespeichert sind, wird die
Bearbeitung mit DxO Optics Pro nur wenige Minuten benötigen.
2.1. Das
Register Organisieren
Wenn Sie DxO Optics Pro öffnen, befinden Sie sich direkt im
Register Organisieren. Es entspricht dem ersten der zwei
Bearbeitungsschritte für Ihre Fotos.
Mit dem Navigationspanel auf der linken Seite können Sie zwei
Typen von Bildquellen durchsuchen:
Die Hierarchie der Ordner auf Ihrer Festplatte.
Die Projekte, die in DxO Optics Pro erstellt wurden.
Sie können Ihre Ordner oder Projekte durchsuchen, um die Bilder
herauszusuchen, die Sie bearbeiten möchten.
ANMERKUNG
Unter Mac OS X werden die Projekte im gleichen
Verzeichnisbaum angezeigt, wie die Ordner. Unter Windows
hingegen werden sie im unteren Teil des Fensters getrennt
angezeigt.
Schritt 1 – Wählen Sie einen Ordner oder ein Projekt aus.
Deren Inhalte werden als Miniaturbilder im Bild-Browser
angezeigt. Der Bild-Browser befindet sich im unteren Bereich
des Programmfensters. In diesem Panel können Sie Ihre Bilder
organisieren und selektieren, sowie die Größe der Miniaturbilder
ändern, eine Bewertung vergeben oder löschen.
Nachdem der Bild-Browser die Bilder anzeigt, wird DxO Optics Pro
Ihnen automatisch vorschlagen das oder die optischen DxO Module
zu laden, die zu Ihren Bildern korrespondieren.

Schritt 2 – Klicken Sie auf ein Miniaturbild. Das Bild wird im BildPanel (Bildfenster) angezeigt. Ein Ensemble an Einstellungen (ein
sogenanntes „Preset“) wird automatisch auf das Bild angewendet.
Das Standardpreset heißt DxO Standard. Es korrigiert die optische
Verzeichnung und das digitale Rauschen, optimiert die Belichtung
sowie die Dynamik.
ANMERKUNG
DxO Optics Pro liest die Charakteristika der Kamera und des
Objektivs aus den EXIF-Metadaten, die mit dem Bild gespeichert
werden. Diese Informationen dienen zur Identifizierung des
entsprechenden optischen DxO Moduls, um damit automatisch
die optimalen Korrekturen anzuwenden.
In dem Fall, dass ein optisches DxO Modul verfügbar ist und geladen

Register Bearbeiten
Im Register Bearbeiten finden Sie wiederum den Bild-Browser sowie das Bild-Panel (Bildfenster), in dem Sie eine Vorschau der Korrekturen
sehen, die Sie auf Ihre Bilder angewendet haben.

Auf der linken Seite des Arbeitsbereichs finden Sie die folgenden
Paletten:
• Bewegen/Zoom: um sich innerhalb des Bildes zu bewegen und
zu zoomen.
• EXIF (Eigenschaften des Bildes): Zeigt die wichtigsten
Aufnahmeparameter der Belichtung an sowie Informationen über
die Kamera und das Objektiv, die bei der Aufnahme verwendet
wurden.
• Preseteditor: Listet die Presets auf, die zur Verfügung stehen, und
dient zum Erstellen eigener Presets.
Die Paletten Belichtung und Farbe – Fortgeschritten, Detail und
Geometrie beinhalten weiter fortgeschrittene Einstellungen.
Schritt 1 – Klicken Sie im Bild-Browser auf das Miniaturbild des
Bildes, das Sie bearbeiten möchten. DxO Optics Pro wird automatisch
das Standardpreset DxO-Standard auf Ihr Bild anwenden. Dieses
Preset enthält die folgenden Korrekturen:
• Weißabgleich steht auf „Original“
• Belichtungskorrektur steht auf „Smart“
• DxO Smart Lighting steht auf „Leicht“
• Rauschminderung im Modus „Hohe Qualität“
• Verzeichnung automatisch - basierend auf dem verwendeten
optischen DxO Modul
Auf der rechten Seite des Arbeitsbereichs:
• Vignettierung automatisch - basierend auf dem verwendeten
optischen DxO Modul
• Histogramm: Zeigt die Verteilung und den Pegel der Helligkeit für
jeden der RGB-Farbkanäle (Rot, Grün, Blau) im Bild.
• Chromatische Aberration automatisch
• Wesentliche Werkzeuge: Enthält alle Grund-Werkzeuge, die zur
Bildkorrektur unerlässlich sind.
ANMERKUNG
Eine ausführlichere Beschreibung der Paletten finden Sie in
Kapitel 4.2 dieses Dokuments.
• DxO Lens Softness aktiviert mit mittlerer Korrektur (-0,50)
Alle weiteren zur Verfügung stehenden Korrekturen sind deaktiviert.

Beim ersten Start von DxO Optics Pro zeigt das Register Bearbeiten
den Standard Arbeitsbereich, der nur die wichtigsten Paletten
anzeigt, um die essenziellsten Korrekturen für Ihre Bilder
vorzunehmen:
Schritt 2 – Wählen Sie zum Beispiel in der Palette Wesentliche
Werkzeuge die Unterpalette Weißabgleich. Führen Sie Ihre
Einstellungen mithilfe der Schieberegler und der Drop-down-Menüs
durch. DxO Optics Pro wird sofort im Bild-Fenster das Ergebnis
Ihrer Korrekturen anzeigen.

Bei Ihren ersten Versuchen verschieben Sie die Schieberegler nach
Belieben, um die Auswirkung auf die Erscheinung Ihrer Bilder zu
erforschen.
ANMERKUNG
Um das Ergebnis der Korrekturen wie zum Beispiel das
Rauschen beurteilen zu können, aber auch die Chromatische
Aberration oder die optische Schärfe, sollten Sie das Bild in
reellen Pixeln, (also bei 100% Zoom) anzeigen. Sie Zoomen
ganz einfach auf 100%, indem Sie einen Doppelklick auf den
Bildbereich machen, den Sie genauer betrachten möchten.
Mit einem weiteren Doppelklick können Sie wieder in die
ursprüngliche Zoomstufe zurückkehren.
2.3. Bilder
exportieren
Um die Korrekturen, die Sie im Register Bearbeiten eingestellt
haben, auszuführen, müssen die Bilder exportiert werden. In diesem
Schritt werden neuen Dateien erzeugt. Als Standard sind dies JPEGs
hoher Qualität. Sie werden in dem selben Verzeichnis gesichert, in
dem sich auch die Originalbilder befinden.
Schritt 1 – Klicken Sie auf den Button Export auf Festplatte (PC)
bzw. Auswahl entwickeln auf der rechten Seite der Iconleiste des
Bild-Browsers.
Schritt 2 – Es öffnet sich ein schwebendes Fenster, das die
Ausgabeoptionen anzeigt. Sie können das Format auswählen (JPEG,
TIFF, DNG …) und Einstellungen wie die Qualität und das Ziel, wohin
die Bilder exportiert werden, vornehmen.
Schritt 3 – Fahren Sie so sukzessive mit den weiteren notwendigen
Einstellungen der Paletten Belichtungskorrektur, DxO Smart
Lighting, Kontrast …
Selbstverständlich können Sie die Paletten und die Unterpaletten
nach Belieben komplett aufklappen, um zu den fortgeschrittenen
Funktionen zu gelangen. Weitere Detailinformationen hierzu finden
Sie im Benutzerhandbuch von DxO Optics Pro 9.

Schritt 3 - Nachdem Sie alle Ihre Einstellungen vorgenommen
haben, klicken Sie auf den Button Exportieren.
Im Bild-Browser erscheinen daraufhin zwei Informationen:

Presets
3.1. Was
ist ein Preset?
Mit Presets können ganz einfach ein Set an Einstellungen auf eines
oder mehrere Bilder angewendet werden, ohne dass man in die
Details der Unterpaletten und deren Werkzeuge gehen muss. Indem
Sie mit Presets arbeiten, können Sie Ihre bevorzugten Einstellungen
vornehmen, um das Ergebnis zu erhalten, das Sie wünschen.
Anschließend können Sie nach Bedarf die Korrekturen für jedes
einzelne Bild noch verfeinern.
Die Presets sind in fünf Kategorien aufgeteilt: Allgemein, Porträt
und Landschaft, Schwarz-Weiß, Atmosphäre, High Dynamic Range.
Die Kategorie Allgemeine Presets enthält insbesondere das
DxO Standard Preset, welches als Standard auf alle neuen Bilder
angewendet wird.

3.2. Presets
anwenden
Es gibt verschiedene Möglichkeiten, ein Preset auf ein Bild
anzuwenden:
• Klick auf den Button Preset: Es öffnet sich ein schwebendes
Fenster, das eine Vorschau aller verfügbaren Presets anzeigt.
• Per Rechtsklick auf ein Miniaturbild im Bild-Browser.
• In der Palette Preseteditor (Register Bearbeiten).
Des Weiteren können Sie die Korrekturen von einem Bild auf ein
anders übertragen:
• Im Bild-Browser machen Sie einen Rechtsklick auf das
Miniaturbild.
• Aus dem Kontextmenü wählen Sie Korrektureinstellungen
kopieren.
• Im Bild-Browser wählen Sie nun das Ziel-Bild.
• Machen Sie einen Rechtsklick auf das Ziel-Bild und wählen im
Kontextmenü Korrektureinstellungen einfügen.
TIPP
Mit dem Tastaturkürzel Ctrl + Z (PC) bzw Cmd + Z (Mac OS X)
können Sie die Korrektur abbrechen und zu den vorherigen
Einstellungen zurückkehren.

Iconleiste
Die Iconleiste.
Die Iconleiste befindet sich im oberen Bereich des Bild-Fensters.
Sie ist fester Bestandteil der Benutzeroberfläche, egal welchen
Arbeitsbereich Sie wählen (benutzerdefiniert oder Standard).
Von links nach rechts enthält sie die folgenden Funktionen:
Werkzeuge zur Anzeige und Navigation
Vergleichen: Indem Sie auf diesen Button klicken und die
Maus gedrückt halten, können Sie vorübergehend das Referenzbild
anzeigen. Als Standard ist dies das Originalbild vor der Korrektur.
Hand-Werkzeug (nur Mac): Dient zum Verschieben des sichtbaren
Bereichs des Bildes in alle Richtungen. Bei einem Doppelklick auf
das Bild kann ein- und ausgezoomt werden. Wenn ein anderes
Werkzeug aktiv ist, können Sie vorübergehend zum Hand-Werkzeug
zurückkehren, indem Sie die Leertaste gedrückt halten.
TIPP
Sie können auch mit Hilfe des Mausrads in das Bild zoomen
(beim Mac halten Sie gleichzeitig die Taste Cmd gedrückt).
Analog können Sie die Scroll-Gesten Ihres Trackpads nutzen.
Korrekturwerkzeuge
Drop-down-Menü (rechts): dient zum Festlegen des Referenzbildes
(vor oder nach der Korrektur) um mit dem angezeigten Bild zu
vergleichen.
Zuschneiden
Einzelbildmodus : (nur Mac): Zeigt eine Vorschau des Bildes im
Lauf der Korrekturen.
Parallelen korrigieren
Staub entfernen
Horizont anpassen
Rechteck.
Anzeige des Bildes Seite-an-Seite: Das Originalbild vor der
Korrektur und das korrigierte Bild werden nebeneinander dargestellt.
Zoom: Hier können Sie eine Vergrößerung wählen. In dem
Drop-down-Menü können Sie die üblichen Zoomstufen wählen (von 25
bis 400%), oder einen beliebigen Wert bis max. 1600% eingeben.

Paletten
Eine Palette ist eine logische Gruppe von Unterpaletten. Eine
Unterpalette enthält alle Einstellungen für eine Korrektur,
zum Beispiel Farbtemperatur und Farbton in der Unterpalette
Weißabgleich.
TIPP
Um den Inhalt der Unterpalette zu zeigen, klicken Sie auf den
kleinen Pfeil links.
Das Wort „Auto“ auf der rechten Seite der Titelleiste der Unterpalette
bedeutet, dass die entsprechenden Korrektureinstellungen
automatisch von DxO Optics Pro optimiert werden. Wenn Sie in
der Unterpalette einen Parameter ändern und Sie zu den von
DxO Optics Pro empfohlenen optimalen Werten zurückkehren
möchten, klicken Sie auf den Zauberstab, der sich rechts der
jeweiligen Einstellung befindet.
In den Unterpaletten gibt es außerdem zwei weitere wichtige Icons:

abgedunkelten Ecken und Bildränder)
sowie die Chromatische Aberration
(Farbsäume) korrigiert und die Schärfe
des Bildes optimiert.

Mit DxO Optics Pro können Sie Ihre Bilder direkt in einer Flickr®
Webgalerie veröffentlichen, sie drucken oder mit einem Retuscheoder Bearbeitungsprogramm öffnen.

Veröffentlichen Sie Ihre Bilder auf Flickr®

Drucken Sie Ihre Fotos
Mit DxO Optics Pro können Sie Ihre Fotografien ausdrucken.
Direkt nach dem Import steht die Dialogbox in beiden Registern –
Organisieren, Bearbeiten – im Datei-Menü zur Verfügung, oder Sie
klicken in der Iconleiste des Bild-Browsers auf das Icon .
So übertragen Sie Ihre Fotos in Ihre Flickr®-Galerie:
1. Wählen Sie die Bilder im Bild-Browser aus.
2. In der Iconleiste des Bild-Browsers wählen Sie ganz rechts
Export nach Flickr.
3. In der Dialogbox klicken Sie auf Verbinden, um sich in Ihrem
Flickr® -Account anzumelden.
4. Wählen Sie Format und Qualität der Dateien.
5. Klicken Sie auf Exportieren: Die ausgewählten Bilder werden
verarbeitet und anschließend übertragen.
ANMERKUNG
Das Dialogfenster zum Drucken (Microsoft Windows)
Flickr®
Um Ihre Bilder auf
zu veröffentlichen, müssen Sie über
ein Flickr® - Account und eine aktive Verbindung ins Internet
verfügen.

Die Dialogbox zeigt eine Vorschau des Bildes, das gedruckt werden
soll. Es stehen mehrere Layout-Optionen zur Verfügung: Foto auf
Papiergröße anpassen, drehen, Beschriftung aus extrahierten
Metadaten (Dateiname, Datum, etc.) hinzufügen und deren Position,
Schriftart und Farbe wählen.
5.3. Bilder mit einem anderen Programm
bearbeiten
Desweiteren können Sie die Ränder anpassen, einen Kontaktbogen
erstellen und die Zahl der Zeilen und Spalten automatisch oder
manuell anpassen. Sie können mehrere Seiten erstellen und
drucken.
In DxO Optics Pro ist es möglich, Ihre Bilder in einem anderen
Programm zu öffnen, zum Beispiel um weitere Korrekturen und
Retuschen vorzunehmen:
Beachten Sie, dass Sie mit der Dialogbox Zugang zu den
Einstellungen des Druckertreibers haben. Sie können jeden von
DxO Optics Pro unterstützen Dateityp drucken, einschließlich RAWBilder und virtuelle Kopien.

2. In der Iconleiste des Bild-Browsers wählen Sie ganz rechts
Export in Applikation.
3. In der Dialogbox wählen Sie das Zielprogramm aus, entweder aus
