UPCOMING EVENTS
January 16, 2016? Un diner avec l’Alliance Française at Wheelers Restaurant,
180 Amity Rd, Woodbridge, CT
February 7, 2016 Fêtons la Chandeleur chez Marie Dominique Boyce, 62 Sonoma
Lane, Middlebury, CT de 15h à 18h. Space is very limited. Make your reservations
early. For reservations, call 860 788 3346. Today, for young and old alike, Chandeleur
is above all known as crêpes day and generations have kept alive a collection of
traditions and customs around the making of crêpes. If the cook can flip a crêpe while
holding a gold coin in the other hand, his household will enjoy prosperity throughout the
coming year. Another custom (although less followed) suggests keeping the first cooked
crêpe in a wardrobe in order to assure the abundance of the coming
harvests. http://www.frenchmoments.eu/candlemas-in-france-la-chandeleur/
March 6, 2016 Join the Alliance Française at Rudy's Restaurant and Bar,
1227 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511 at 4 PM for La musique actuelle et ses artistes
francophones.
