George Cope
Appointed President and CEO of BCE and
Bell in 2008, George Cope has served as a
chief executive at publicly traded Canadian
communications companies for more than
two decades.
He is leading the Bell team’s transformation
of Canada’s largest communications
company with a strategy of leading
investment in advanced broadband
networks, innovative communications
services and premium content, and a better
customer experience.
Under Mr Cope’s leadership, Bell launched
Bell Let’s Talk, the largest ever corporate
commitment to Canadian mental health. He
served as Chair of United Way Toronto’s 2013
campaign, which raised a record $117 million.
Mr Cope holds an HBA (1984) from the
Ivey Business School at The University of
Western Ontario. He has received honorary
doctorates from Western and the University
of Windsor. Awarded the Queen’s Diamond
Jubilee Medal for his work on Bell Let’s Talk,
Mr Cope was appointed a Member of the
Order of Canada in 2014.

haute direction au sein de sociétés de
télécommunications canadiennes cotées
en bourse.
Il dirige la transformation de l’équipe Bell,
au sein de la plus grande entreprise de
communications du Canada, en déployant
une stratégie d’investissement considérable
dans les réseaux large bande évolués, les
services de communications novateurs, le
contenu de premier plan et l’amélioration de
l’expérience client.
Sous la direction de M. Cope, Bell a lancé
l’initiative Bell Cause pour la cause, qui
constitue le plus grand engagement jamais
pris par une entreprise dans le domaine de
la santé mentale au Canada. Par ailleurs, il
a été président de la campagne Centraide
à Toronto en 2013, qui a recueilli la somme
record de 117 millions $.
M. Cope est titulaire d’un baccalauréat
en administration des affaires avec
spécialisation (1984) de la Ivey Business
School de l’Université Western et il a reçu un
doctorat honorifique de l’Université Western
et de l’Université de Windsor. Décoré de la
Médaille du jubilé de diamant de la Reine
pour sa contribution à l’initiative Bell Cause
pour la cause, il a été nommé Membre de
l’Ordre du Canada en 2014.
