Language Group Meetings/Receptions
Language Group Meetings/Receptions Friday, March 9, 2012 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. Stay right in the hotel conference area to enjoy this event! 想要__一些美国中部的__老__?威斯康星州中文教__会_大家和我_一吃_餐!Chinese teachers from throughout the Midwest: join us for a language reception and dinner at Milwaukee’s best Chinese restaurant (food not included). Socialize and network with your colleagues. We’ll meet at 6pm in the hotel lobby. In 1812, the Brothers Grimm published the first volume of their fairytales. Two hundred years later, fairytales and other stories are still fascinating and can still capture audiences. The Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Chapter of the AATG, will bring German storyteller Katharina Ritter to Milwaukee to showcase the art of telling stories to an audience. The reception and performance will take place at the Hofbräuhaus. Meet in the hotel lobby at 6 PM and walk together to the location. Stay right in the hotel conference area and meet and enjoy two of Milwaukee’s dynamic artists: Professor Brenda E. Cárdenas, Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at UW-Milwaukee and Poet Laureate of Milwaukee, will talk about growing up in Milwaukee and share her lively and original poetry. Her reading will be followed by a book signing; and Mr. Peter Baime, Professor of Guitar at UW-Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music, will play Flamenco. A veteran performer and dedicated music educator, Peter has given over 2500 concerts for school groups over his distinguished 30-year career.
