With the RER B, it takes approximately 20 minutes from central Paris (Saint Michel or Châtelet areas) to arrive at the ENS Cachan (plus 10mn walk). Therefore, any hotel in Paris connected to the RER B line (which is very central) will be practical and you have a large choice depending on your budget and favorite parts of Paris. Although the conference organizers had at first no intention of making hotel arrangements and the hotels have to be booked and paid for individually by the conference participants, quite a few participants have wished to be together for networking and/or budget reasons. We have thus pre-reserved a quota of rooms with two hotels in Paris. TERMINUS ORLEANS** 197 Boulevard Brune 75014 PARIS, tél:+33.(0)1.45397144 fax: (0)1 45 39 12 86 www.paris-hotel-terminus-orleans.com; email: [email protected] Very well rated by TripAdvisor and Bookings. Offers the conference participants a special group rate of 75€ for rooms with individual bathroom/shower, continental breakfast included. This rate is valid until the 6th of June 2011. Use the code: ENS CACHAN. Hôtel ACROPOLE*** 199 Bd Brune 75014 PARIS tél: + 33 (0)1 45 39 64 17 fax: (0)1 45 42 18 21 www.acropole-paris-hotel.com ; mail : [email protected] Next door to the previous hotel, larger bathrooms, has also accepted to reserve a few rooms for conference participants at 92€ for rooms with individual bathroom, including breakfast buffet. This rate is valid until the 6th of June 2011. Mention the rooms were pre-reserved. Use the code: ENS CACHAN. These two Hotels are conveniently located a few meters from public transportation (Subway, Bus and Tramway); a Metro line that connects to the center of Paris; and a straight connection (about 20mn bus ride) to ENS de Cachan with the Bus n°187 Porte d'Orléans – Fresnes. Exit the bus at the stop “Division Leclerc - Camille Desmoulins”, which leaves you at the rear entrance of ENS (south-east on the “ENS campus map”). Enter the gate to the ENS (student housing CROUS) and follow the alley until the main entrance gate. The conference amphitheater Marie Curie is located on the d’Alembert building which faces the main entrance gate. You can also take the subway and change at station Denfert-Rochereau to the RER B, or take the tramway to Cité Universitaire station of RER B, and exit at the stop Bagneux (then walk 10mn using the map “How to get to the ENS de Cachan”). Enter through the main entrance gate, the d’Alembert building is straight ahead in front of the main entrance gate.
