ir est un équipementier important dans le karting depuis de nombreuses années : de la célèbre combinaison aux chaussures, gants,
et autres accessoires, tous les pilotes connaissent cette marque italienne de renommée internationale.
Tout le monde connaît MIR, mais qui la connaît vraiment ?
Flash back... MIR a été créé en 1983, l’année où les premières combinaisons de
pilotes ont été portées par Nanini et De Cesaris. Implantés en Toscane, les créateurs
de MIR ont fait leurs armes dans la Haute Couture en fournissant des grands noms
comme Armani et Versace... Leur passion pour le sport auto les a conduits à se lancer
dans la fabrication d’une ligne de vêtements originale et personnalisable. MIR fabrique
entièrement sa gamme sportswear dans ses ateliers d’Arezzo où elle emploie une
vingtaine de personnes.
MIR oriente sa production à 70% vers le karting : elle équipe d’ailleurs le plus officiellement du monde des teams comme Birel, Swiss Hutless, CRG, Top Kart, Alpha Karting,
Haase, Merlin, ... pas mal, non ? Lors du championnat du monde 2006 à Angerville,
MIR a réalisé en partenariat avec KSP les combinaisons des pilotes de mini-karts qui
accompagnaient les pilotes stars sur la pré-grille : joli coup médiatique immortalisé par
les caméras d’Eurosport ! D’autres surprises sympathiques de ce style risquent de se
produire en 2007... Désirant s’impliquer dans tous les domaines de la compétition, Mir
est partenaire officiel des 2 plus grandes organisations européennes, l’Open Masters
d’Italie et les Grand Prix Karting FFSA, en fournissant les tenues des officiels et du
staff technique.
Les pilotes de renom qui s’habillent en
MIR ne se comptent plus. Au-delà de la
notoriété qui en découle, c’est surtout la
coopération avec des pilotes de haut niveau qui est à retenir pour maintenir la
plus haute qualité technique des produits.
Parmi la bonne vingtaine de champions du monde de karting ayant porté le fameux M, comment ne pas évoquer un certain Fernando Alonso, fidèle à MIR jusqu’en F1 tout comme Ralf
Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Kimi Raikkonen, ... MIR est donc sérieusement implantée dans le
monde de l’auto avec ses gammes Level 1 et Level 2, satisfaisant à toutes les homologations,
mêmes américaines. A l’international, MIR était présente cet hiver aux salons de Francfort, Orlando, Chicago... MIR confirme sa première place dans les développements technologiques avec

ir has been a major equipment supplier to the kart world for many years now. Kart drivers everywhere are familiar with this internationally famous designer’s range of shoes, gloves and other accessories.
The MIR name is famous, but how much do we really know about them ?
Flash back... MIR was created in 1983. That was the year the company’s racing suits
were first worn by Nanini and De Cesaris. Working from a base in Tuscany, the creators
of MIR cut their teeth as haute couture suppliers to such big names fashion houses
as Armani and Versace. But their passion for motorsport soon led them to produce an
innovative, customisable line of sportswear. MIR manufactures its complete range of
sportswear in manufacturing shops in Arezzo, where it employs about twenty people.
70% of MIR’s output is destined for the karting market, and it is official supplier to Birel,
Swiss Hutless, CRG, Top Kart, Alpha Karting, Haase, Merlin, and others. An impressive podium, if ever there was!
During the 2006 world championship meeting in Angerville, MIR partnered with KSP to
produce minikart driver suits that were worn by the star drivers on the pre-grid. Quite
a media coup in front of the Eurosport cameras! Look out more surprises of a similar
nature during the 2007 season...
Underscoring its ambition to be present in all areas of competition, MIR has become
an official partner to the two largest European organisations, the Open Masters in Italy
and the FFSA Karting Grand Prix series, for which it will be providing all the apparel for
the marshals and technical staff.
The list of famous drivers who wear MIR
garments is long. In addition to the notoriety it brings, the company’s association
with the top drivers helps ensure that only
the highest quality products are supplied.
Among the twenty or so world kart champions to have sported the famous M, how can we not mention Fernando Alonso, who remained
faithful to MIR all the way up to Formula 1, as were Ralf Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Kimi
Raikkonen. MIR is a household name in motor sport, and its Level 1 and Level 2 ranges meet the
most stringent certification standards, including in America. On the international stage this winter,
MIR will be exhibiting at shows in places like Frankfurt, Orlando and Chicago.
Underscoring its leadership in the technology race, MIR is offering a range of new materials and
innovative motor sports garments.
The manufacturer’s great speciality is allying the extremes within its range.

a molti anni Mir è un fornitore importante nel mondo del karting: dalla celebre tuta alle calzature, ai guanti e agli altri accessori, tutti i
piloti conoscono questa marca italiana di fama internazionale.
MIR è nota a tutti, ma chi la conosce veramente ?
Flash back... MIR nasce nel 1983, l’anno in cui le prime tute da pilota vengono indossate da Nannini e De Cesaris. Stabilititisi in Toscana, i creatori di MIR provengono
dall’alta moda, dove sono stati fornitori di nomi importanti come Armani e Versace...
Fu la grande passione per le auto sportive che li spinse ad avviare la produzione di
una linea di abbigliamento originale e personalizzabile. MIR produce l’intera gamma
sportswear nelle proprie fabbriche di d’Arezzo, dove lavorano una ventina di operai.
Il settanta percento dell’intera produzione MIR gravita attorno al karting: d’altronde

da kart). Dall’altro produrre dei capi di abbigliamento totalmente personalizzati, in serie limitate o
