» M. Research and development PROJECT DATASHEET No.8 TICAADOM a project with Development of a new information collection system intended for conducting remote post-operative monitoring. This multidisciplinary project brings together different types of Information and Communication Technologies applied to the monitoring of physical activity in the home. This system will allow patients and their physical activity to be monitored remotely. Combined with a self-assessment approach, it ensures that patients can safely carry out physical activity. The information gathered is also monitored by a team of healthcare professionals. CONTRIBUTION •• AUTONOM'LAB Monitoring, support prior to the start of the project. OBJECTIVES •• OPERATIONAL The development of a new information system should enable remote post-operative monitoring to be conducted. Limited, in the first instance, to stroke victims, use of this system could be widened to include other pathologies at a later date. Project sponsor University of Limoges For reference Target: persons with reduced independence Project launch: October 2011 Duration: 36 months « EXPERT OPINION This is one of the first projects directed at persons of reduced independence in the Limousin region. We want to do everything we can to avoid losing our independence. As such, we are putting in place the technology to assess the physical activity of persons of reduced independence in the home, in the interest of maintaining independence. » Mr Stéphane Mandigout, Researcher in the HAVAE Laboratory at the University of Limoges •• METHODOLOGY An extensive search for potential industrial and financial partners was conducted during project set-up. The project is the result of multidisciplinary work involving two laboratories at the University of Limoges (HAVAE and XLIM). EXPECTED/ACHIEVED •• RESULTS The usefulness of ICTs, notably in terms of prevention and care, is demonstrated in the creation of a product that is technologically relevant but which remains simple to use, both for the patient and the practitioner.
