otal et ses partenaires de la joint-venture Bongkot ont annoncé, mi-avril, le démarrage de la production du champ
de gaz à condensats en mer de Greater Bongkot South
(GBS) situé dans le golfe de Thaïlande. La joint-venture est opérée
par PTTEP (44,45 %), aux côtés de Total (33,33 %) et de BG
Group (22,22 %). « Je me félicite du démarrage à la date et selon
le budget prévus de la production du champ de GBS, qui augmentera de
50 % notre capacité de production en Thaïlande et permettra à la jointventure Bongkot de mieux répondre à la demande croissante de gaz en
Thaïlande. Après le succès des démarrages récents de Pazflor (Angola)
et d’Usan (Nigeria), ce nouveau développement permet au groupe de
franchir une étape supplémentaire dans la mise en œuvre de sa stratégie
de croissance », a déclaré Jean-Marie Guillermou, directeur
Asie- Pacifique de la branche exploration-production de Total.
Le champ offshore de GBS est situé à environ 200 kilomètres
à l’est de la province de Songkhla. Ce nouveau développement
indépendant comprend une plate-forme centrale de traitement,
une seconde de quartiers d’habitation et 13 autres de production.
La capacité de traitement de la plate-forme centrale est de 350 millions de pieds cubes par jour et de 15 000 barils de condensats par
jour. Le gaz est acheminé vers le réseau de PTT via un nouveau
gazoduc, tandis que les condensats sont transportés vers le FSO,
unité flottante de stockage et d’expédition, situé à 80 kilomètres au nord. Détenu à 33,33 % par Total, le champ de Greater
Bongkot North est le principal actif du groupe en Thaïlande.
En 2011, il a contribué à hauteur de 41 000 barils équivalents
pétrole par jour à la production du groupe. Total est également
présent dans le secteur de l’électricité en Thaïlande. Le groupe
détient une participation de 28 % dans Eastern Power and Electric
Company Ltd qui exploite depuis 2003 la centrale à gaz à cycle
combiné de Bang Bo, dont la capacité est de 350 mégawatts. •

Total and its joint venture partners Bongkot announced, in mid-April,
the launch of production in the Greater Bongkot South (GBS) gas and
condensate field in the Gulf of Thailand. The joint venture is being operated by PTTEP (44.45 %), alongside Total (33.33 %) and BG Group
(22.22 %). “I am delighted with the start-up of the GBS field in line with
the schedule and within the budget which will increase by 50 % our production capacity in Thailand and will enable the Bongkot Joint Venture
to further contribute to the growing gas demand in Thailand. After the
recent successful start-up of Pazflor and Usan, in Angola and Nigeria
respectively, this development is a new milestone in the implementation of Total’s growth strategy,” declared Jean-Marie Guillermou,
Senior Vice-President of Exploration and Production at Total.
The GBS offshore field is located around 200 kilometres east of the
Songkhla province. This new independent development comprises a
central processing platform, a living quarter platform and thirteen wellhead platforms. The central platform’s processing capacity is 350 million
cubic feet of gas per day and 15,000 barrels of condensate per day. Gas is
exported to the PTT grid via a new spur line, while condensate is exported to the Floating, Storage and Offloading vessel at the Greater Bongkot
North Field, 80 kilometres to the north. With Total holding a 33.33 %
stake, the Greater Bongkot North field is the group’s main asset in Thailand.
In 2011, it contributed around 41,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to
the group’s production. Total is also present in Thailand in its electricity
sector. The group holds a 28 % stake of Eastern Power and Electric
Company Ltd (EPEC) that since 2003 has been operating the combined
cycle gas power plant of Bang Bo, with a capacity of 350 megawatts. •
