Starting in March, this monthly Agenda will be released
in digital format, so we will discontinue the paper
edition.
To obtain a copy of the Agenda you can simply consult
the www.sitgestur.cat website and from there you can
print it out at home or from any terminal, without having
to stop in at any information office to collect it. It will
also be available at the multimedia points located on
the Passeig de la Ribera Promenade.
Turisme de Sitges is committed to new technologies,
sustainability and top quality service. It is with this
aim that we’ve changed the Agenda’s format: putting
new tools to good use to be more respectful of our
environment and getting all the information to you at
home.
À partir du prochain mois de mars ce programme
d’activités mensuel s’éditera en format digital, par
conséquent, nous laisserons de l’imprimer en papier.
Pour obtenir le programme vous devrez consulter le
site www.sitgestur.cat et vous l’imprimer à la maison
ou depuis n’importe quel terminal, sans devoir vous
déplacer . Il sera aussi disponible dans les points
d’information multimédia situés sur la Promenade du
Passeig de la Ribera.

Immediately afterwards, the Carnival Queen will head for Rafael Llopart, Sant Damià and Àngel Vidal streets and, along with His Majesty
Carnestoltes, they will continue on to the Town Hall, using the following
route: Àngel Vidal, Cap de la Vila, Major and Pl. de l’Ajuntament.
Once there, his Majesty will take over the Town Hall and address all
the townspeople with the reading of his Predicot or Proclamation. /
Ceci terminé, la Reine du carnaval se dirigera jusqu’aux rues Rafael
Llopart, Sant Damià et Àngel Vidal puis, accompagnée de sa Majesté
Carnestoltes, se rendront jusqu’à la Mairie, avec l’itinéraire suivant:
Àngel Vidal, Cap de la Vila, Major et Pl. de l’Ajuntament. Une fois làbas, Sa Majesté prendra possession de la Mairie et se dirigera à tous
les citoyens et les citoyennes avec la lecture de son Predicot.

appreciate different artistic styles and discover their work. The artists will also explain anecdotes and curiosities of their professional
career.

Moderniste Route Route Moderniste
This route allows us to admire the homes of the Americanos, those
Sitgetans citizens who, from the late 18th century to the first third
of the 20th century, immigrated to Cuba in search of fortune and on
their return, invested in constructing buildings and mansions in the
town of Sitges.
Cette route permet d’admirer les maisons des americanos, ces gens
de Sitges qui depuis la fin du XVIIIème siècle et jusqu’au premier
tiers du XXème siècle émigrèrent à Cuba à la recherche de fortune
et qui à leur retour investirent dans la construction d’édifices et demeures dans la ville.

The Americanos Route Route des Americanos
In the mid 19th century, thousands of young men and women from
the Garraf region left for the West Indies with a dream of making a
fortune. The return of those who were successful during their overseas adventure, called the Americanos, left an important mark on
the town and opened up Sitges to the future.
Au milieu du XIXe siècle, des milliers de jeunes de la région du Garraf
partirent aux Antilles avec le rêve de faire fortune. Le retour de ceux qui
obtinrent le succès dans l’aventure d’outre-mer, les dénommés Americanos (américains), marqua la ville et ouvra Sitges vers le futur.

Sitges Cemetery Route “Route du Cimetière de Sitges”
The cemetery route is closely linked to the americanos, as they were
the first to have memorial graves made for them. In the cemetery we
can observe fantastic examples of these commemorative sculptures by
outstanding architects like: Enric Sagnier, Josep Maria Martino Arroyo
and writers like Josep Llimona, Frederic Marés aswell as others.
La route du Cimetière est très reliée aux americanos, puisqu’ils ont
été les premiers à se faire une sépulture monumentale. Dans le
cimetière nous pourrons voir, un bon exemple de cette sculpture
monumentale funéraire crée par des architectes reconnus comme :
Enric Sagnier, Josep Marie Martino Arroyo et les sculpteurs comme
Josep Llimona, Frederic Marés entre autres.

Terramar Racetrack Route Route Autodrome de Terramar
The “Autòdrom de Terramar” is a car-racing track inaugurated on
October 28th in 1923, and it is the only early 20th Century car-ra-
cing track that is preserved complete. It was part of the garden-city
designed by architect Francesc Armengol in Sitges between 1920
and 1930. Amongst other races that were held on this track, is the
“First International Great Prize of Spain”.
Parcours autour de l’Autodrome qui fut inauguré le 28 octobre 1923
et qui est l’unique qui se conserve en entier de tous les crées au début
du XXe siècle. Il faisait partie du projet ville-jardin que Francesc Armengol créa à Sitges entre 1920 et 1930.Différentes courses ont été
célébrées comme le “Premier Grand Prix International d’Espagne”.

Collection of documents, blueprints and photographs showing the
evolution of the work done during the building process of the emblematic Palau Maricel de Sitges. The photographs, commissioned
by Miquel Utrillo, were taken by Francesc Serra and put together in
the book “Marycel 1917. Catàleg”.
Recueil de documents, de cartes et de photos où s’expose
l’évolution des travaux réalisés dans le processus de construction
