Super heroes fra and eng DEF

•Super Héros (série Les Parloirs) > FRA Les quatre photographies présentées sont extraites de la série Super Héros (série des parloirs). Elles représentent des autocollants-­‐décalcos de personnages (issus de comics américains) que l’on trouve dans les chewing-­‐gums Malabar et qui sont collés sur certains murs de parloirs, très certainement par les enfants qui viennent voir leur père en prison. Ces Super Héros, icônes populaires « invincibles » hurlantes, en flamme ou vertes de rage, accompagnent les familles durant le court laps de temps de visite imparti et permet au détenu d’ « échapper » mentalement , l’espace d’un moment, aux lourdes conditions pénitentiaires. Tout objet venant de l’extérieur étant interdit au sein de la prison, les photographies ont été prises en cachette à l’aide d’une montre appareil photo produisant des images de basse définition prises sous un éclairage insuffisant dans une pièce insalubre de 5m2. Dans l’idée de préserver le support premier sur lequel se détache les personnages. Les photographies ont été tirées sur des films transparents autocollants et sont ainsi directement « décalquées » sur les murs de l’espace d’exposition. •Super Héros (The visiting rooms series) > ENG The four photographs are taken from the Super Heroes series (The Visiting rooms series). They present super heroes Tattoos found in french chewing-­‐gums called Malabar, and paste on prisons visiting rooms walls, certainly by children visiting their fathers. These invicibles popular characters, howling, burning, green with anger, follow those families during the short time they have to share together, and offer to the prisonners a possibility to escape their mind for a moment. There are a lot of rules the visitors must follow during the time they spend within the prison. You cannot bring what you want in visiting rooms (no water, no newspapers, no pens, no phones, nothing). The artist found as a solution to take these pictures and go through the security checking system, in buying a small « watch-­‐camera ». You have to hide and be fast in your action, no autofocus, no macro for the photo and no place in this 5m2 room. The watch is only providing low resolution pictures and needs a lot of light which means you are not allowed to move at all. The photographs are printed with a color inkjet printer on transparent paper sheets and seem paste on the walls of the exhibition as the originals.
