Sorcier est une applique inspirée des
masques rituels Ngil de la tribu Fang du
Gabon. La lumière est diffusée à travers les
perforations du masque et rayonne vers le
haut en une projection à la fois douce et
graphique. Plus qu’un luminaire, Sorcier
habite la pièce et devient une sculpture.
L’applique change de personnalité suivant
la déclinaison de couleurs, de textures et
les percements qui diffèrent pour chaque
version.
Sorcier is a wall light inspired by the ritual
Ngil masks of the Fang tribe in Gabon. The
light appears through the perforations in
the mask and shines upward in a graphic
and gentle way. More than a light, Sorcier is a sculpture. It changes personality
depending on the combination of colours,
textures and perforations patterns.

Marta Bakowski est une designer française d’origine polonaise. Diplômée de la Saint Martins et du
Royal College of Arts à Londres, elle part ensuite à
Berlin pour travailler aux côtés de Hella Jongerius
qu’elle assiste pendant presque deux ans. En 2013,
elle retourne à Paris et y fonde son propre studio
de design. Elle y imagine des objets qui célèbrent la
couleur et la matière, avec des formes simples et
graphiques et une fonctionnalité élémentaire.

Marta Bakowski is a French designer of Polish origin. She graduated from Central Saint
Martins and the Royal College of Arts in London, before she joined Hella Jongerious’ team
in Berlin for almost two years. She finally comes
back to Paris in 2013 and launches her own
design studio where she imagines objects that
celebrate color and material with simple and
graphics shapes.
