Three Families in Japan Three families, from different regions and social backgrounds, provide insight into life in Japan. The first family lives in Fujinomiya and the father is employed in the automobile industry. The second family are farmers, residing in northern Japan, where some of the country's finest rice is grown. The last family lives "the good life" in Fukuoka. Post-war Japan was based on growth, employment, social advancement and technological innovation. Japan has lost some of its international influence to other Asian countries, such as China. Approximately 30 years ago, there was very little difference between economic classes, now cracks are starting to appear. The three families reveal what it means to maintain their standard of living. ©2008 Cinéfête Running time in minutes Entry # R Number Expiry date on ROVER 52:00 N1336 R051839 July 1, 2017 URL http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/rover/resources/1500 Suggested Uses Social Studies > Grade 7 > Dynamic Relationships Social Studies > Grade 7 > Interactions and Interdependence Social Studies > Grade 7 > Resources and Wealth Related Resources Video: French version - Trois familles au Japon Video: French version - Trois familles au Japon URL: http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/goToVideo.htm?entry=N1413 Video: Three Families in India Video: Three Families in India URL: http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/goToVideo.htm?entry=N1335 Video: French version - Trois familles en Inde Video: French version - Trois familles en Inde URL: http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/goToVideo.htm?entry=N1415 Video: Three Families in South Africa Video: Three Families in South Africa URL: http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/goToVideo.htm?entry=N1337 Video: French version - Trois familles en Afrique du sud Video: French version - Trois familles en Afrique du sud URL: http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/goToVideo.htm?entry=N1414 Rover.Edonline.sk.ca page 1 of 2 Rover.Edonline.sk.ca page 2 of 2
