Start from the central station and walk down Nieuwen Dijk. At Dam square
there is Magna Plaza, the old post office building which is now a shopping mall
with a couple of shoe stores. Kalver Straat is good for young fashion brands.
Continue down Heligeweg and Leidestraat for more of the same. Walk over
the Single Gracht (canal) and down P.C Hooft Straat for designer shops, shoes
and clothing. De 9 Straatjes (the 9 litle streets) area has some one-off trendy
boutiques.
getting around
Trains run at regular 15 minute intervals from Schipol airport to Amsterdam
Central Station, time duration is 15 minutes. Retail is best covered on foot and
can be completed in half to one day.

Monday 11:00 - 18:00.
Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat 09:00 - 18:00.
Thursdays 09:00 - 21:00.
Most stores open on Sundays.
