Sensitization of the public
The Ministry is mobilizing and sensitizing all the inhabitants of the specific locality 12 days prior to the operation. Pamphlets are also being distributed on preventive
practices.
Pamphlet prepared by Ministry of Environment & NDU
Loudspeakers mounted on government vehicles are being used to call upon the
inhabitants to take out early in the morning all discarded receptacles and tyres from
their respective yards and place them in an orderly manner on the road sides so as
to facilitate their collection and disposal.
Information on Chikungunya and precautions to be taken to prevent the disease are
also being disseminated through the same system. The announcement is made in
“creole” and in “bhojpuri”.
This operation is being carried out in collaboration with various stakeholders (district
council, private sector, “force vives” and inhabitants of the localities, etc).
