IFMA: Teaching the sciences and techniques which enable the design, construction and management of advanced mechanical systems, products and services.
- A public institution created in 1991 with the support of a Foundation of large
international industrial groups. Today the IFMA Foundation comprises 43 large
and medium-sized organisations, market leaders who contribute in a very concrete
way to the actions of the Institute.
- An institution which is open to the world: relations with over 250 universities
and companies in more than 30 countries.
- A national network: member of the prestigious Institut Mines-Télécom group of
schools, the N° 1 graduate engineering school group in France.
- A regional network: founding member of Clermont Université.
Enterprise at the heart of the Institute
A GRADUATE SCHOOL FOR ADVANCED MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
BASED ON THE TRIPLE THEME OF TEACHING, RESEARCH AND ENTERPRISE WITH A STRONG INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION
Mechanical Engineering Graduate School
Ambitious research policy based on excellence and innovation
Master of Engineering and PhD degrees
Training top engineers in advanced mechanics and industrial engineering, capable of working in multicultural environments: a
programme tailored to a constantly changing socio-economic context.
Researchers working in two CNRS laboratories
- A solid grounding in engineering sciences, soft skills, foreign languages and
international communication.
- 3 specialisations from the second year onwards: Materials and Structures;
Machines, Mechanisms and Systems; Industrial and Logistics Systems.
- Upcoming international master’s degree: InnoMech (Innovative Mechanisms: Materials, Design and Control).
- Teaching approach based on classes in small groups, project-based learning and hands-on experience.
IFMA focuses on an intercultural approach and cultivates international experience.
