Forecast for very difficult traffic conditions
Because of departures and arrivals due to winter holidays, many people are expected this
week-end on the roads in the Hautes-Alpes. With very dense traffic, this cross-over weekend should create traffic problems on the main roads going to the ski resorts.
At the same time, Météo France forecasts snow falls on saturday.
Taking into account the expected traffic problems combined with bad weather conditions,
Pierre BESNARD, Préfet des Hautes-Alpes, calls for all drivers (light vehicules,
coaches) to anticipate the situation and to drive only with special snow equipement
(snow tyres, chains) necessary to access the ski stations or to delay their departure.
Therefore, it is strongly advised to all drivers to plan their travel carefully and to consult the
