So many job possibilities to choose from!
On the morning of Friday, November 2nd, 2012,
the Grade 5 and 6 students had a presentation
to show information on their job shadowing
project. This event took place in the
gymnasium. Several classes and some family
members came to look at the presentations. In
the entire gymnasium there were about 80
posters. There were a lot of tables and every
person had their own station. We enjoyed
interviewing our parents during the job
shadowing and making our posters, but it was
long waiting for people to come talk to us.
Scholastic Book Fair
Andrew and Filip
The Scholastic Book Fair took place in the
library on November 15th and 16th during the
parent-teacher interviews. Mrs. Lori is the one
who chooses the books with the teachers
based on what the students are studying and
what they like to read. She chooses books for
all ages of children in our school.

Did you know that the books arrived in metal
containers? All they had to do was open up
the containers and all the books were already
placed. The parents and their children came to
look at them and chose which books they
liked.
Did you know that there were 315 books that
were sold? The bestselling book was Diary of a
Wimpy Kid. The Parent Participation
Organization (P.P.O.) collected approximately
$1400. All of the money will be going to buy
new books for our school library.

There were 11 grade six students who tried
out for volleyball. Mrs. Danielle only chose 6
players for the tournament. It took place on
November 15th at St. John’s Elementary
School. The girls finished 3rd place in their pool.

Six courageous boys went out on the St. John’s
Elementary School volleyball court. It happened the 16th of November on a Friday. They
were going for an S.S.I.A.A. banner, but unfortunately they won 4th place, which is still good.

All the good smashes by Emanuel and Derick
were awesome. The good passes by Miguel
and Tristan, as well as the awesome bumps by
Tommy really helped the team.
An
unforgettable moment was the block that
Olivier did. One player stated, “We looked like
professionals in action!”
It was their first time going to a volleyball
competition. They did pretty well overall. “We
made some mistakes, but we learned from
them,” one student admitted. The girls lost the
first 2 games and won the 2 others. After the
games they ate their lunch while watching
another team play.
Remembrance Day
for our country’s freedom in World War I. On
August 4, 1914, Canada joined the war that
lasted until November 11, 1918. To honour
them at our school, we wear poppies to
remember the brave soldiers. We also have
two minutes of silence on Remembrance Day.
We hope that everyone did their part by
wearing a poppy this month. We will never
forget you, Canadian soldiers.

It has already been 94 years that we have remembered our Canadians that fought and died

Mrs. Linda has 22 students in her class. The
students have been learning days of the week
and months of the year. Now they are learning
about Christmas and doing Christmas activities. Their favorite things are reading, set
books and gym. This month, they visited the
fire station and saw the fire trucks and the
controls in the trucks. They saw how fast the
firemen put on their uniforms. The firemen
gave them candies at the end of the visit.
Le thème de la classe de Mme Guylaine est « la
famille ». Mme Guylaine a 19 petits élèves
dans sa classe. En septembre, ils sont allés
cueillir des pommes et au milieu du mois de
novembre, ils sont allés visiter les pompiers. Ils
ont fait un vote et leur matière préférée est les
arts plastiques.

Did You Know…
John Adam Memorial School was named
after a Delson resident who volunteered
many hours in the schools in this town. He
was a member of the school council of
Greater La Prairie School Board and
fought tirelessly for a new school in Delson. His success was realized in 1965 with
the opening of John Adam Memorial
School. Unfortunately, he died before the
decision of building this school was made.
Movember
Kayla and Samantha
The students and staff of John Adam raised
money for prostate cancer all month. On the
30th of November the people who brought in
money got to wear a moustache for a day. In
total we raised $228.55.
John Adam students proudly wear their moustaches.
