workshops to focus on specific learning goals.
A great way to catch-up or get ahead!
À la carte means you pick as many classes you need or like and set up your own
schedule!
Each workshop meets for a single 1-hour 40-minute class.
Tuition is $35 per workshop, class materials included!
Take as many as you want, “Life is a buffet”! ;-)

ACCENTS FRANÇAIS – Phonetics: The Vowels and the Nasals - ALL LEVELS

French is considered the language of romance. Come and perfect your
pronunciation, correct your accent and receive an introductory lesson to the
international phonetic transcription to better speak…the language of love!
FRENCH GRAMMAR FOR ENGLISH SPEAKERS! - ALL LEVELS
A subject, a verb (transitif ou intransitif), a noun, a pronoun (pronom sujet,
accentué, complément, relatif, démonstratif, possessif?), an article (défini, indéfini ou
partitif), a preposition, a direct or indirect object, an adjective, an adverb, a
clause, a tense, an auxiliary, a past participle…OMG! Yes, we hear you! This
will help!

de…? French articles will never be confusing anymore! Ordering from a menu
will become so natural, as life should be…Bon appétit!
JE SUIS POSSESSIF! – Les adjectifs possessifs et démonstratifs!
Mon, ma, mes, ton, ta , tes, ce, cet, cette ou ces? For once, be selfish, and brag
about what you own! Be materialistic, tell us what you have! But be careful,
most things you own end up owning you…
VIVRE LE MOMENT PRÉSENT… – Le présent de l’indicatif
Conjugating French verbs in the present tense can be challenging? Through a
well-structured approach, we will help you master conjugation of regular
(parler…), irregular (être, avoir, aller, -IR and –RE verbs…) and reflexive verbs
(se promener...) to better live…the present moment!

One of the most confusing grammatical structures in the French language!
Come and revisit these past tenses learning their differences at the same time.

Beau, bel ou belle? Rapide ou vite? Confusing? Come and revisit adjectives placed before or after a noun and the agreement – adverbs and gérondif form
(-ING form in English) “en allant”… Express your feelings and emotions with
more fluency!
HOT OFF THE PRESS! – La voix passive et le vocabulaire des actualités

Learn the vocabulary of French news practicing the passive form at the same
time : “La Tour Eiffel a été conçue par Gustave Eiffel”. Come and discuss the

WHAT IF? – LES HYPOTHÈSES “Si j’étais… , je serais”

In this workshop, we will focus on the 3 types of “If clauses” reviewing six
different tenses: Si + Présent = futur simple / Si + imparfait = conditionnel
présent / Si + Plus-que-parfait = conditionnel passé. Reimagine the world
and reinvent yourself…

the “reported speech” - one of the most complex French grammatical
structures - to better tell on people, gossip about others and spread rumors ;-)
EXCUSE MY FRENCH! – le français familier

Finally a class you can swear and curse…but in French only! Informal French,
colloquial expressions and slang are on the menu! Goodbye “Sacré Bleu” and
older clichés! Welcome modern slang! Must be 18 years old or more!
FAKE OR REAL? – Les faux amis et les mots pièges

Amis, faux amis, ennemis? Learn how to use the right word and avoid the
language traps of cognates: attend vs attendre, complete vs compléter, assist vs
assister, library vs libraiie, eventually vs eventuellement, etc. Reconsolidate your
friendship with the faux amis and make them your vrais amis!
WHO ARE THE FRENCH? – Atelier interculturel
C7 - Tuesday, December 6 / 6:00-7:40pm
C8 - Thursday, December 8 / 10:00-11:40am
How would you describe the French? What does it mean to be French
nowadays? In this workshop, we will define the concepts of French
civilization vs nation, discuss the French exceptions, analyze the relationship
between the French language, national identity and explore the character of
French people throughout their history. Time to make the French your
friends!
