Prior learning assessment and Recognition for Part-time students only: GCE O Level certificate or equivalent with passing grades A-E and with at least 3 years working experience related to the Electrical, Electronics, mechanical & Automation field may be considered. Career Prospects The traditional work sectors (electricity and electronics, electrical accessories and instruments, the production and transport of energy, telecommunication, manufacturing and processing industries) have grown thanks to the multiplication of applications for electricity and computers. Given the widespread uses of electronics, electrical engineering and industrial computing, the skills provided to Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy graduates are sought in very diverse fields: Power Plants Energy Management Technical Sales Installation an Commissioning of Electrical Appliances Maintenance Management Computer and communication technology Microelectronics Industry More specific job titles: Methods technician, Research manager, Test manager, manufacturing team manager, maintenance coordinator, developer production/design engineering, automation electronics technician, process specialist, industrial computing & more Teaching Methods Practical and experimental skills are developed through project work and laboratory exercises. Design skills are developed through course work exercises supported by the use of the relevant computational packages. Practical skills are tested and assessed throughout the programme using a combination of coursework assignments, design studies, laboratory logbooks and project reports and/or papers. An important part of this subject will be devoted to the design and implementation of renewable energy systems that include Photovoltaic and Wind Power production.
