Highlights
Points saillants
Year to date March 31, 2015, there was
315.2 Mkg of fresh chicken available for
the Canadian market, 4.7 Mkg more than
in 2014. Year to date production up to
March 31, 2015 was 271.9 Mkg, 3.2%
(2.4 Mkg) more than in 2014. Year to
date imports in 2015 are 43.3 Mkg, 3.0%
(2.2 Mkg) higher than in 2014. Frozen
chicken inventories on April 01, 2015
were 34.6 Mkg, 1.6 Mkg higher than the
previous month and 0.6 Mkg higher than
on January 1, 2015.
En 2015, en date du 31 mars, 315,2 millions de
kilogrammes de poulet frais ont été disponibles
pour le marché canadien, soit 4,7 millions de
kilogrammes de plus qu’en 2014. La production
annuelle au 31 mars 2015 était de 271,9 millions
de kilogrammes, soit 3,2 % (2,4 millions de
kilogrammes) de plus qu’en 2014. Le cumul
annuel des importations en 2015 est de 43,3
millions de kilogrammes, soit 3,0 % (2,2 millions
de kilogrammes) de plus qu’en 2014. Les stocks
de poulet congelé au 1er avril 2015 étaient de
34,6 millions de kilogrammes, soit 1,6 million de
kilogrammes de plus que le mois précédent et
0,6 million de kilogrammes de plus qu’au 1er
janvier 2015.

in most provinces. On average, Canadian live prices in A-130 are
$0.04 below those in the corresponding weeks of the previous
year. The Ontario live price for A-130 is $1.549 /Kg.

inventories in the whole
bird category were 0.1
Mkg lower than a year
ago. Frozen inventories of
cut-up and further
processed chicken were
0.8 Mkg lower and 0.9
Mkg higher, respectively,
than last year while
miscellaneous chicken
inventories were 0.2 Mkg
lower.

de mars. Les stocks de
poitrines ont augmenté de 7,0
% et les stocks des ailes ont
augmenté de 20,0 % pendant
le mois d’avril. Les stocks de
poitrines et des ailes ont
diminué de 14 % et de 34 %
par rapport à l’année dernière.
Frozen leg quarter
inventories that are
part of the cut-up
chicken category were
0.5 Mkg higher than
last year and nearly flat
since the month of
March. Inventories of
breasts increased
7.0% and wings
increased 20.0%
during the month of
April. Breasts and
wings are down 14%

last year.
