Chapter 1 : INTRODUCTION
1-1. SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT
• 1 REMOTE KEYPAD (RKD100).
• 1 DB9 (M/F) cable (Length = 3 meters).
• 1 User’s Manual.
1-2. GENERAL INFORMATION
The REMOTE KEYPAD (RKD100) is a control device for the

OCTO and Quattro series. The RKD100 is specially designed to be
integrated into a desktop or an electrical 2-gang wall mount box. It
allows driving all the Audio & Video switching. The RKD100 is very
easy to use and to install, since it only requires one cable to connect it. The
RKD100 is auto-powered by the device at which it is connected and doesn't
need any extra power supply.
The RKD100 is also compatible with the OCTO VUE series, but with limited
functions.
1-3. STARTING

c Turn OFF your OCTO or Quattro (rear panel switch).
d Connect the RS-232 connector (DB9 female) of your device to the DB9 male connector of the RKD100 with the
supplied DB9 cable.

e Turn ON your OCTO or Quattro (rear panel switch).
f Select a source with the INPUT SELECTION buttons.
g Make the audio adjustment with the AUDIO buttons.
Chapter 2 : TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
2-1. FRONT PANEL
Fn :
Secondary function selection button.
INPUT SELECTION :
• Selection of the 8 input sources: 1 to 8.
Button turns ON = source displayed (MAIN).
Button blinking slowly = source displayed on PREVIEW (only if the controlled device
is a Octo Vue Series device).
• Selection of the 4 frames: F1 to F4.
2 Buttons turn ON = frame displayed on output (MAIN).
NOTE: Frame selection can be used only when Fn is active.
• A long push (1 second) on the selected input button turns the output to BLACK : black
screen. A short push on the selected source (turns ON button) displays the corresponding
source on the screen output.
FREEZE :
Freezes the output image
Button blinking slowly = FREEZE active.
Allows to display logo onto the output.
Button blinking quickly = LOGO displayed on the output.
NOTE : Logo display can be used only when Fn is active.
LOGO :
EFFECT PRESET :

Selection of the CUT, FADE & TITLE effects. This function is available only for devices
that include it.
Button turns OFF = CUT,
Button blinking = FADE,
Button turns ON = TITLE.

VOLUME (+ /-):
Allows to switch OFF the audio output.
Button turns ON = Mute is active.
Allows to permanently broadcast the same audio source whatever the video source selected.
Select a source with the INPUT SELECTION button, then press Fn and then the
BREAKAWAY button .
Button blinking slowly = Breakaway is active.
Audio level adjustment.

Chapter 4 : WALL MOUNTING
To install the REMOTE KEYPAD in a standard 2-gang electrical box, proceed as follow :
c Remove the front panel of the REMOTE KEYPAD (4 screws).
d Disconnect the 5-pin MC connector (screw terminal) from the REMOTE KEYPAD'S PCB and disconnect the 4 wires
from the 5-pin MC connector.
e Connect the new cable on the 5-pin MC connector as shown below:

• Connect TX on PIN 3 of the OCTO or Quattro DB9 connector.

• Connect RX on PIN 2 of the OCTO or Quattro connector.

• Connect 0V on PIN 5 of the OCTO or Quattro DB9 connector (only 1 wire is necessary).

• Connect 12V on PIN 8 of the OCTO or Quattro DB9 connector.

f Connect the 5-pin MC connector to the PCB of the REMOTE KEYPAD and install the front panel into the standard 2gang electrical box.
g Secure the front panel with the 4 screws.
Chapter 5 : WARRANTY
Analog Way warrants the product against any defects in material and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of
purchase (back to the factory).
In the event of any malfunction during the warranty period, Analog Way will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective
unit, including free material and labor.
This warranty does not apply if the product has been :
- improperly installed or abused,
- handled with improper care,
- used or stocked in abnormal conditions,
- modified, opened,
- damaged by fire, war, or Natural disasters (Acts of God).
In no way shall Analog Way be responsible for direct or indirect loss of profit or consequential damages resulting from any
defect in this product.
In case of any problem, get the serial number of the unit, a description of the problem, and then call your authorized dealer.

1-2. INFORMATIONS GÉNÉRALES
La REMOTE KEYPAD (RKD100) est un clavier de contrôle à

distance des produits de la gamme OCTO et Quattro. Spécialement
conçue pour l'intégration, elle permet toutes les commutations Audio et
Vidéo. La RKD100 est simple à connecter par une liaison série RS-232.
Elle est télé alimentée par l'appareil auquel elle est reliée et ne nécessite
donc pas d'alimentation externe. La RKD100 est aussi compatible avec les
produits de la gamme OCTO VUE dans une utilisation limitée aux fonctions
principales de commutation.
1-3. MISE EN SERVICE

c Éteignez votre OCTO ou Quattro (Interrupteur en face arrière).
d Raccordez le connecteur RS-232 (DB9 femelle) de votre appareil, au connecteur DB9 mâle du RKD100 avec le
câble DB9 fourni.

e Allumez votre OCTO ou Quattro (Interrupteur en face arrière).
f Sélectionnez une entrée avec les touches de sélection (INPUT SELECTION).
g Effectuez les réglages audio avec les touches AUDIO.
Chapitre 2 : DESCRIPTION TECHNIQUE
2-1. FACE AVANT
Fn :
Touche d'accès aux fonctions de deuxième niveau.
INPUT SELECTION:
• Sélection des 8 entrées: 1 à 8.
Touche allumée = source affichée sur la sortie (MAIN).
Touche clignotant lentement = source affichée sur la sortie PREVIEW (Uniquement si
contrôle d'un produit de la gamme Octo Vue).
• Sélection des frames: F1 à F4
Les 2 touches allumées = frame affichée en sortie (MAIN).
NOTE: La sélection des Frames est accessible uniquement lorsque la touche Fn est
activée.
• Un appui long (1 seconde) sur l'entrée sélectionnée permet d'activer la fonction BLACK:
Un écran noir est affiché sur la sortie. Un appui court sur la touche d'entrée sélectionnée
(touche allumée) permet d'afficher cette entrée en sortie.
FREEZE :
Gèle l'image de la sortie.
Touche clignotant lentement = freeze actif.
Permet d'afficher les logos sur la sortie
Touche clignotant rapidement = logos affichés.
NOTE: La fonction affichage des logos est accessible uniquement lorsque la touche Fn est
activée.
LOGO :
EFFECT PRESET :

Sélection des touches d'effet CUT, FADE et TITLE. Cette fonction est disponible que si la
machine contrôlée la supporte.
Touche éteinte = CUT
Touche clignotante = FADE
Touche allumée = TITLE).

MUTE :

VOLUME (+ /-) :
Mise en sourdine de la sortie (MAIN).
Touche allumée = Mute actif.
Permet de diffuser en permanence une même source audio quelque soit l'entrée vidéo
sélectionnée. Sélectionnez une source avec les touches INPUT SELECTION, puis appuyez
sur les touches Fn puis BREAKAWAY
Touche clignotant rapidement = Breakaway actif.
Réglage du volume audio.
2-2. FACE ARRIÈRE
Connecteur DB9 mâle:
Liaison RS-232 et alimentation.

Chapitre 4 : ENCASTREMENT DANS UN MUR
Pour installer le REMOTE KEYPAD dans une boite électrique standard de 2 unités, suivez les instructions ci-dessous :
c Retirez le panneau supérieur du REMOTE KEYPAD (4 vis).
d Déconnectez le bornier à vis (MC 5 pôles) de la carte du REMOTE KEYPAD et débranchez les 4 fils du bornier.
e Connectez le nouveau câble sur le bornier à vis comme indiqué ci-dessous:

• Connectez TX sur la broche 3 du connecteur DB9 de l'OCTO ou Quattro.

• Connectez RX sur la broche 2 du connecteur DB9 de l'OCTO ou Quattro.

• Connectez 0V sur la broche 5 du connecteur DB9 de l'OCTO ou Quattro (un fil seulement).

• Connectez 12V sur la broche 8 du connecteur DB9 de l'OCTO ou Quattro.

f Connectez le bornier à vis (MC 5 pôles) sur la carte du REMOTE KEYPAD et installez le panneau supérieur dans la
boîte électrique 2 unités.
g Fixez la face avant avec les 4 vis.
Chapitre 5 : GARANTIE
Analog Way garantie le produit contre les défauts matériels et vices de fabrication, pour une période de 3 ans à partir de la date
d'achat (retour en nos locaux).
En cas de mauvais fonctionnement pendant la période de garantie, Analog Way décidera, à son choix, de réparer ou de
remplacer l'appareil défectueux, incluant la gratuité des pièces et de la main d'œuvre.
Cette garantie ne s'applique pas si le produit a été :
- utilisé ou installé en dehors de son cadre de fonctionnement,
- manipulé sans aucune précaution,
- utilisé ou stocké dans des conditions anormales,
- modifié, ouvert,
- endommagé par le feu, guerre ou catastrophe naturelle.
En aucun cas Analog Way ne peut être responsable d'une perte de profit ou de dommages directs ou indirects consécutifs à un
mauvais fonctionnement du produit.
En cas de problème, préparer une description détaillée de la panne, relever le numéro de série de l'appareil, puis contacter votre
revendeur agréé.
