Pourquoi désirez‐vous faire partie du conseil d’administration de l’ACEI? I believe that I posses the right combination of experience and skills to help continue the mission of CIRA. In particular I would like to see more opportunities for small and medium sized business to flourish through creation and utilization of web based technologies. By serving on the Board, I would help further the services and advocacy which CIRA provides to Canadians and Canadian business owners. 2. Quelles sont les compétences ou les expériences particulières que vous possédez et qui font de vous le meilleur candidat pour le conseil d’administration de l’ACEI? I have served on the Board of Directors for companies such as Tradebank International, Inc. and People TV, Inc. During my tenure with People TV I served as Board President from 2009-2011. As Board President I was responsible for overseeing the budget, fundraising and developed the network's first strategic plan. Quels seront, selon vous, les trois principaux défis et les trois possibilités clés devant lesquels le domaine .CA se trouvera au cours des trois à cinq prochaines années? The top three challenges facing the .CA domain space in the next three to five years are recognition in the world marketplace, buy in from Canadian business owners and consumers, and maintaining and developing access to the internet for all Canadians. The top three opportunities are to help create and grow global market shares for Canadian web based businesses, growth and development of small and medium sized Canadian business and developing access to underserved communities. 4. Quelles mesures particulières proposez‐vous pour relever un ou plusieurs de ces défis et profiter de ces possibilités? The first thing that CIRA's Board can do are to develop a social media strategy and campaign to expand the "CA brand". By getting Canadians of all ages, socioeconomic and professional backgrounds to support .CA domains, the power of the brand will create tremendous opportunity both domestically and internationally. Canada is recognized around the world as a country of integrity and trustworthiness. This should be intrinsically tied to the .CA brand. Secondly, advocacy for underserved communities should be a focal point for CIRA and .CA. The Board should develop a community outreach component that will help create awareness and garner resources for the access of education, health carte and other web based information capabilities. This would also help to promote the .CA branded image.
