The Jacquart story is the Champagne growers own story, who made the efforts to control their
own destiny rather than relying on the big Grande Marque houses as a route into the market. In
the early 1960s, a small group of growers realised that in order to build their own businesses in a
sustainable way, they needed to launch their own Champagne instead of supplying grapes to the
negociant middlemen or directly to the Grande Marques. The Champagne Jacquart brand was
subsequently released for the first time in 1962 and the ‘Mosaïque’ label was chosen to represent
the patchwork of grower families across the region, all joining together with a common vision.

DUNLEAVY
SUPPORT THE LOCAL
Dunleavy Vineyard is located in the heart of the beautiful Wrington Vale in Somerset, just outside
Bristol. Dunleavy produce fantastic rosé from Pinot Noir and Seyval grapes, combining passion,
sustainable agricultural practices and the latest viticultural techniques. Dunleavy Vineyards were
planted by owner and manager Ingrid Bates. Ingrid has a background in biology and began her
viticultural career 10 years ago when she took up a job maintaining a small local vineyard. Having
found her true vocation, her own vineyard was finally planted just a few weeks before the birth of
her first child in 2008. A few years down the line and after much hard work, Dunleavy Vineyards
released its first wines in 2013.

COUP DE COEUR
Wine tells a story and can help build a relationship. Sometimes, we can fall in love with
wine producers because they make good wines, which have a good story, and give us good
feelings. Here are a couple of wine producers and wines that you may fall in love with…
YEALANDS ESTATE
MARLBOROUGH – NEW_ZEALAND
According to conventional wisdom, you weren’t supposed to be able to plant vineyards in the
rugged foothills of the Awatere Valley. Thankfully, Peter Yealands saw beyond conventional
wisdom.
Long hours and unstinting determination brought about a gradual, sympathetic transformation of
the landscape and the creation of the remarkable Seaview Vineyard – the largest privately-held
wine estate in New Zealand.
Given the scale of the undertaking, it’s apt that Peter’s vision also encompassed the foundation of a
business that sets a gold standard in terms of environmental sustainability, from its carbon neutral
winery to the widespread adoption of low-impact winemaking methods.

DOMAINE FILLIATREAU
In 1967, Maurice Filliatreau let his son, Paul, have 8 hectares of his vineyard. At that time,
rosé wines were predominant. In those days, the prestige surrounding the delicacy and spirit of
Saumur Champigny had not yet been fully acknowledged. As a lover of these light red wines with
berry flavours, Paul Filliatreau devoted all his time to producing them. In 1990, Fredrik joined his
father at the head of the wine-producing business. By dint of method and perseverance, Paul and
Fredrik Filliatreau are now running a vineyard of more than 40 hectares.
