This guide is intended to get you started with Rational ClearCase or Rational ClearCase MultiSite.
Product Overview
IBM® Rational® ClearCase® offers reliable, scalable and flexible software asset management including flexible workspace
management, advanced build management and mainframe development support for midsize to large development teams.
IBM Rational ClearCase MultiSite® is an option to Rational ClearCase that enables parallel development across geographically
distributed environments by replicating and synchronizing project data.

Step 6: Install Rational ClearCase on one or more server hosts
For more information, see the IBM Rational ClearCase, ClearCase MultiSite, and ClearCase LT Installation and Upgrade Guide.
Install Rational ClearCase MultiSite on all server hosts on which you intend to create replicated VOB databases. If you
intend to use the Rational ClearCase Remote Client or Rational ClearCase Web Interface, configure at least one Rational
ClearCase Server as a ClearCase Web Server, following the instructions in Appendix F of the IBM Rational ClearCase and
ClearCase LT Administrator's Guide.

Step 7: Install Rational ClearCase on one or more client hosts

Step 8: (optional) Install the Rational ClearCase Remote Client
Open a Web browser on any computer, whether or not it has ClearCase installed, and go to the URL
http://server_name/ccrc/update, where server_name is the name of a computer that you configured as a ClearCase Web
server host in Step 6. The update page includes complete instructions for downloading and installing the Rational
ClearCase Remote Client.

Step 9: Important note

If you are upgrading earlier versions of Rational products, carefully read the upgrade instructions contained in the
installation documentation of the various products.
