Après 500 concerts dans 15 pays, en seulement 6 ans, et en totale indépendance,
Scarecrow continue de défendre haut et fort son étendard.
Sombre, détonnant et étrangement cohérent, le quartet innove en proposant un style à
part entière: le Blues-Hiphop, musique contestataire du XXIème siècle.
Des complaintes nées au début du 19ème siècle dans les champs de coton américains,
aux sons urbains des métropoles trépidantes du 21ème siècle, les quatre toulousains
rendent hommage aux mouvements fondateurs tout en contournant leurs codes,
ramenant le blues à la sueur et le hip hop à ses racines instrumentales, qu’ils soit arrachés
d’un dobro ou samplés d’un vieux vinyle.
Sur scène, Slim Paul -guitariste/bluesman- et Antibiotik Daw -scratcheur/rappeurconfrontent les générations dans un exercice de style périlleux: mêler deux langues, deux
cultures et deux instruments que rien n’attirait, avec pour trame de fond le basse/batterie
enivrant de Jamo et le Pap’s.
L’ambiance, le son, le show…Scarecrow c’est du groove et de la conscience, le groupe
parvient tout simplement à faire ce qui est rare, allier le fond et la forme.

After 500 gigs in 15 countries, during 6 years, and in a fully DIY attitude, Scarecrow
become one of France's most hard-touring bands.
Dark, explosive and strangely coherent, the quartet innovates by proposing a real and
unique style: the Blues-Hiphop, protest music of the XXIth century.
From working songs born in american cotton fields in the early 20th, to urban sounds
feeded by big cities in the 80's, the four frenchies give an original tribute to the foundating
movements in playing with the musical codes, bringing back the blues to the harrassing
sun and hip hop to its instrumental's roots, thorned from a dobro or scratched from an old
vinyl.
On stage, Slim Paul -the bluesman- and Antibiotik Daw -MC 'n DJ- settle generations in a
dangerous exercise: melt two languages, two cultures and two instruments that nothing
attract, followed by the unbelievable groove of the bass/drums Jamo and le Pap’s.
The mood, the sound, the show... Scarecrow it's groove and consciousness, the band
manages to do just that is rare, combine the form and content.
