Information Session and Program Launch:
Transatlantic Diffusion of Sustainability Through Environmental
Sciences and Engineering
When: Friday, March 4, 2011, from 2:30 PM to 4 PM
Where: Desmarais Building, Room 3105
What: In the 2011-2012 academic year, a new student mobility and research
program will be launched at the University of Ottawa. Both undergraduate and
graduate Engineering and Science students will be eligible to partake in a fully
funded (approx. $4500) semester-long exchange at our partner institutions:

Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento, Italy
Trinity College, Ireland
Universita degli studi di Pisa, Italy
Students will receive training which applies emerging sustainable science and
engineering principles. Students will benefit from technically rich international
curricula, which will address environmental issues associated with water, air and
soil pollution. The project will assist students to develop technical and social skills
when studying and monitoring environmental problems worldwide.
 Open to Co-op students as a possible work term

Promotion transatlantique du développement durable par l’intermédiaire des
programmes de sciences et de génie de l’environnement

Quoi : Un nouveau programme d'échange et de recherche sera lancé à l'Université
d'Ottawa dès septembre 2011. Les étudiants de premier et deuxième cycles des
programmes de sciences et de génie seront admissibles à participer à un semestre
d'échange entièrement financé (approx. 4500 $)

Les étudiants suivront des formations faisant intervenir de nouveaux principes et
outils dans le domaine du développement durable appliqué aux sciences et au génie.
Dans un contexte d’échange transatlantique, ils suivront un programme
international riche sur le plan technique et aborderont des questions
internationales liées à l’environnement (pollution de l’eau, de l’air et du sol). Grâce à
ce projet, les étudiants acquerront des compétences techniques et sociales en
étudiant et en surveillant des problèmes environnementaux à l’échelle
internationale.
