de La Sultana Yacht
L’Histoire incomparable, inédite, étonnante de La Sultana Yacht…
L’aventure commence en 1962 au bord de la Mer Noire dans le plus
grand chantier naval, Varna en Bulgarie. Construit pour la flotte
russe, Aji Petri est le cinquième d’une série de 12 bâtiments, les
«Sister Ships», tous destinés à transporter fret et passagers entre les
ports aux noms évocateurs d’Odessa, Yalta, Sébastopol, Istanbul,
entre Mers d’Azov et de Crimée. Aji Petri avait à son bord 102
passagers en cabine, 110 sur le pont et 46 personnes d’équipage.
Son faible tirant d’eau de 3 m et sa coque profilée en faisait un
moyen de transport idéal pour l’époque. Il aurait pu toujours en
être ainsi…
En 1970, la tension politique mondiale fait des «Sister Ships» des
bateaux très particuliers. Durant la guerre froide, l’URSS retire
progressivement sa flotte des lignes de passagers de la Mer noire
pour l’utiliser à des fins stratégiques pour divers ministères. Aji
Pétri est envoyé dans l’Océan Atlantique Nord pour tenir le rôle de
satellite auprès de l’Organisme Mondiale de la Télécommunication
et, officieusement, pratique aussi des écoutes secrètes pour
son pays. Avec la conquête de l’espace de l’Union soviétique,
l’implication des «Sister Ships » est telle, qu’une série de timbres
est imprimée pour les glorifier. Ils rentrent dans l’épopée héroïque
de toute une nation…
A la chute de l’URSS, Aji Petri est cédé à une compagnie de
navigation bulgare et reprend sa fonction initiale entre Yalta et
Istanbul.
En 2007, sa ligne élégante, la potentialité intéressante de son
agencement intérieur, son look mythique de transatlantique
ont été des atouts majeurs pour entreprendre une restauration
d’envergure.
Pari osé pour Le Groupe ‘La Sultana’: Conserver l’authenticité
d’un bateau au passé étonnant et le transformer en un yacht de
luxe intégrant les technicités les plus pointues, pouvant naviguer
sur toutes les mers et satisfaisant les passagers les plus exigeants.
Une mise en œuvre à la fois colossale et minutieuse; plusieurs
mois d’étude, cinq années dans les chantiers navals, des travaux
occupant à plein temps plus de 60 personnes: ouvriers, techniciens,
ingénieurs spécialisés, architectes navals, maîtres artisans,
organismes de certification de premier plan…
La Sultana Yacht naît avec superbe, mega-yacht de 65 mètres;
luxueux, doté des toutes les dernières technicités en matière de
confort, de performance, de sécurité... dans le sillage mythique
des transatlantiques de légende, troisième fleuron particulier des
Sultana Hotels à la signature unique.

The history
of La Sultana Yacht
The unique, previously unknown, amazing history of La Sultana
Yacht (formerly «Aji Petri»)...
The adventure begins in 1962 near the Black Sea in the largest
shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria. Built for the Russian fleet, Aji Petri
is the fifth in a series of 12, «Sister Ships», all designed to carry
cargo and passengers between ports with evocative names of
Odessa, Yalta, Sevastopol, Istanbul, between Seas Azov and the
Crimea. Aji Petri carrying 102 passengers in cabins, 110 on deck,
and 46 crew members. Its shallow draft of 3 meters and her profiled
hull was an ideal means of transport for the time. It could have
reamained that way...
In 1970, the global political tension made the «Sister Ships» very
special boats. During the Cold War, the USSR gradually withdrew
its fleet of passenger liners from the Black Sea to be used for strategic
purposes for various departments. Aji Pétri is sent to the North
Atlantic Ocean to take the role of satellite with the International
Organization of Telecommunications and unofficially practice
secret spying for her country. With the conquest of space by the
Soviet Union, the involvement of «Sister Ships» is such, that a set
of stamps is printed to praise them. They entered the heroic epic of
a nation...
After the fall of the USSR, Aji Petri is assigned to a Bulgarian
shipping company and resumes its original function between Yalta
and Istanbul.
In 2007, its elegant lines, the interesting potential of its interior
layout and her legendary transatlantic look were all major assets
to undertake a major restoration.
In a bold gamble for the Group ‘La Sultana’: Keep the authenticity
of a boat with an astonishing past and transform it into a luxury
yacht incorporating the most advanced technology that can
navigate the seas and satisfying the most demanding passengers.
Implementation has been both daunting and meticulous; several
months of study, five years in the shipyards, occupying full-time
work for more than 60 people: workers, technicians, engineers,
architects, naval, craftsmen and organizations, leading to full
certification ...
La Sultana Yacht was born, a superb mega-yacht of 65 meters;
luxuriously, equipped with all the latest technology comfort,
performance and safety... in the wake of the mythical transatlantic
legends, the third jewel of La Sultana Hotels with its unique
signature.

The Blazon of La Sultana Yacht
• The lions are descended from armories of Bulgaria, his
former nationality.
• The lion represents strength and bravery, gold, yellow,
the sun and radiant joy of life. The azure, the blue, the sea,
the sky and the infinity, peace and contemplation. Red, the
passion of the East.
• The two black anchors that coexist symbolize by their
number, color and position, the revival of its maritime cal
and wisdom to bear.

After La Sultana Marrakech Hotel, celebrating the values of past
dynasties, earth and Atlas, La Sultana Oualidia Hotel highlights the
nature of the lagoon ecosystem and relaxation. For its new facility, La
Sultana went further more in the evasion, choosing to glorify Morocco
through his shores.

établissement, La Sultana est allée plus loin encore dans l’évasion
en choisissant de glorifier le Maroc par ses côtes. On oublie souvent
que le Royaume a la chance de s’ouvrir sur La Méditerranée et sur
l’Océan et que la longueur de ses côtes est impressionnante.

Le bateau suivra les ardeurs du soleil, séjournant les mois plus frais
sur l’Atlantique au sud du Maroc et les mois les chauds au nord, sur
la Mer méditerranéenne.
Les possibilités proposées sont très attrayantes, séjour sur le
Yacht avec l’alternative d’une visite à Marrakech et/ou un temps
de relaxation à Oualidia. Le bateau pouvant aussi se réserver en
exclusivité pour une semaine sur tous les flots désirés.

Morocco and in the warm months north, on the Mediterranean Sea.
