These results only account for France mainland.
For the most recent months, they are estimated from quick reporting information coming from police forces at the end of each month. These are
provisional estimates of monthly results. The initial estimates include compensations for late fatalities within the 30 days period after the accident, as
per required by the international definition, and other technical gaps previously observed between quick and final (road traffic accident national file,
named BAAC) reporting. The correcting factor is calculated based on the comparison between both sources over the last validated year. As the year
currently progresses, first estimates are adjusted to match the data registered in the BAAC until final validation of the national file, the in-year
performance getting more accurate as the time passes by.
