Read the sentences below. How much can you understand?  Je préfère aller à Sydney en avion;
c’est un long voyage en voiture.
 Le tour d’Italie est en car , mais on

Une montgolfière - what a funny name for a hot air balloon!
The hot air balloon was invented by the Montgolfier brothers (les
frères Montgolfier) - 2 of a family of 16 children! The first flight
was in 1783, and Louis XVI was so impressed he raised them to
the nobility! The Montgolfier company still exists in France.
The machine they invented took their name in the feminine
form. This is normal. The good Dr Guillotin invented Madame
la guillotine and Monsieur Nicotin discovered nicotine!
