Readme
This document describes the steps to install Adobe Central Output Server 5.7 Service Pack 1 (referred to
as 5.7.1 release). The document also details the new features and bug fixes in this release.
The 5.7.1 release includes bug fixes (details are available in the release notes). The service pack also
includes support for new operating systems and E-mail servers. The 5.7.1 release expands the platform
matrix to help production Central Output Server deployments to remain supported during the migration.
The 5.7.1 release provides updates for:

The 5.7.1 release includes support for Windows Exchange 2010 / Outlook 2010. The additional platform

Installing Service Pack 1
In this document, <Central root> refers to the Adobe Central Output Server root installation directory.
Microsoft Windows installation
Stop the Central Services running in Services Panel before following the update steps of this Service Pack.
1. Take a back up of the <Central root> directory.
2. Download and extract the Central5.7.1.rar file.
3. Copy the extracted files to the existing <Central root>\bin directory.
If you are prompted, choose to replace the files in the bin directory.
Update SAP Output PAK
1. Take a back up of the <Central root>\bin\jfrdi.exe file.
2. Download and extract the SAPoutputpak5.7.1.rar file.
3. Copy the extracted jfrdi.exe to the <Central root>\bin directory.
If you are prompted, choose to replace the existing jfrdi.exe file.
4. Take a back up of the <SAP Output PAK installed
directory>\SAP_OutputPak_57\ServerTools\adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe file.

5. Copy the extracted adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe to the existing <SAP Output PAK installed
directory>\SAP_OutputPak_57\ServerTools directory.
If you are prompted, choose to replace the existing adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe file.
6. Double click the adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe and run the installation set up to update the Print Queue
Processor.
Note: When running the installation, use your current serial key.
Start the Central Services from Services Panel after completing the above update steps.
Verify the correct version number 5.7.1.xx is displayed, by running the Jfmerge/Jftrans/XmlImport
command.
Update Output Designer
1. Take a back up of the existing <Output Designer installed directory>\Output
Designer5.7\WinMerge.exe file.
2. Download and extract the WinMerge.rar file.
3. Copy the extracted WinMerge.exe to the <Output Designer installed directory>\Output
Designer5.7 directory.
If you are prompted, choose to replace the existing WinMerge.exe file.
Update View manager
If the View manager is currently running, terminate it.
1. Take a back up of the <Central root>\ClientTools\ViewMgr\JfViewMgr.exe file.
2. Download and extract the View Manager.rar file.
3. Copy the extracted JfPreView.exe to the <Central root>\ClientTools\ViewMgr directory.
If you are prompted, choose to replace the existing JfPreView.exe file.
4. Double-click JfPreView.exe copied in the steps above to restart the View manager.
Unix installation
Stop the Central Server.
1. Take a backup of the Central 5.7.0 installation directory.
2. Download the Central 5.7.1 tar file corresponding to your OS version.
3. Copy the Central 5.7.1 tar file to <installation directory>/central.
4. Run the following command from the path: <installation directory>/central:
tar -xvf <Central 5.7.1 tar file>
Restart the Central Server.

Running Central Output Server on RHEL 4
Before running Central Output Server on RHEL 4, ensure that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable is set
correctly. The variable should refer to the System Library Path followed by Adobe Library Path as
described below.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=System_libpath:adobe_libpath
For example, if Central Output Server is installed at : /usr/local/adobe/central
Library path should be set to:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/adobe/central/lib
Note: This is applicable for RHEL 4 only.

In Output Designer, user might not be able to browse to the Fonts folder under C:\Windows while
selecting the Font File location from File > Presentment Targets.
To resolve this issue, the following Registry key needs to be added:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Output Designer5.7\5.7\JfDesign\Paths
To this key, add a new String value:

While running multiple instances of Central you may encounter some errors related to the generation
of tmp file for the PDF presentment target.
To resolve this issue you will need to update the Jfmerge.ini file with the following setting under
[OPTIONS] section:
TmpFilePrefix=JF1
; Indicates the prefix of the temporary file created during PDF output.
; Should be 3 characters and unique for each instance of Central.
This setting needs to be made for all instances of Central in the corresponding jfmerge.ini file and
the prefix should be unique for each instance. This ensures that the tmp file generated is unique for
each instance of Central.

Pack 1 (hier als Version 5.7.1 bezeichnet) beschrieben. In dem Dokument werden des Weiteren neue
Funktionen und Problembehebungen in dieser Version erläutert.
Die Version 5.7.1 enthält Fehlerbehebungen (Details finden Sie in den Versionshinweisen). Mit dem Service Pack
wurde außerdem die Unterstützung neuer Betriebssysteme und E-Mail-Server hinzugefügt. Die Version 5.7.1
erweitert die Plattformmatrix, damit die Central Output Server-Bereitstellungen während der Migration
weiterhin unterstützt werden.

Installation von Service Pack 1
In diesem Dokument bezieht sich <Central-Stammordner> auf den Stammordner für die Installation von Adobe Central

Microsoft Windows-Installation
Beenden Sie die laufenden Central-Dienste im Dienste-Fenster, bevor Sie die Schritte zum Aktualisieren
des Service Packs ausführen.
1. Sichern Sie den Ordner <Central-Stammordner>.
2. Laden Sie die Datei Central5.7.1.rar herunter und extrahieren Sie sie.
3. Kopieren Sie die extrahierten Dateien in den vorhandenen Ordner <Central-Stammordner>\bin.
Ersetzen Sie die Dateien im Ordner „bin“, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden.
Aktualisieren Sie SAP Output PAK
1. Sichern Sie die Datei <Central-Stammordner>\bin\jfrdi.exe.

PAK-Installationsordner>\SAP_OutputPak_57\ServerTools.
Ersetzen Sie die vorhandene Datei adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden.
6. Doppelklicken Sie auf adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe und führen Sie die Installation aus, um den Print Queue
Processor zu aktualisieren.
Hinweis: Verwenden Sie bei der Ausführung der Installation den aktuellen Serienschlüssel.
Nachdem Sie die oben aufgeführten Schritte zum Aktualisieren abgeschlossen haben, starten Sie
die Central-Dienste über das Dienste-Fenster.
Überprüfen Sie, ob die richtige Versionsnummer 5.7.1.xx angezeigt wird, indem Sie den Befehl Jfmerge/
Jftrans/XmlImport ausführen.
Output Designer aktualisieren
1. Sichern Sie die vorhandene Datei <Output Designer-Installationsordner>\Output Designer5.7\
WinMerge.exe.
2. Laden Sie die Datei WinMerge.rar herunter und extrahieren Sie sie.
3. Kopieren Sie die extrahierte Datei WinMerge.exe in den Ordner <Output
Designer-Installationsordner>\Output Designer5.7.
Ersetzen Sie die vorhandene Datei WinMerge.exe, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden.
View Manager aktualisieren
Beenden Sie View Manager, wenn er gerade ausgeführt wird.
1. Sichern Sie die Datei <Central-Stammordner>\ClientTools\ViewMgr\JfViewMgr.exe.
2. Laden Sie die Datei View Manager.rar herunter und installieren Sie sie.
3. Kopieren Sie die extrahierte Datei JfPreView.exe in den Ordner <Central-Stammordner>\ClientTools\
ViewMgr.
Ersetzen Sie die vorhandene Datei JfPreView.exe, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden.
4. Doppelklicken Sie auf die Datei JfPreView.exe, die Sie in den oben aufgeführten Schritten kopiert haben,
um View Manager neu zu starten.
Unix-Installation
Beenden Sie Central Server.
1. Sichern Sie den Installationsordner Central 5.7.0.
2. Laden Sie die TAR-Datei „Central 5.7.1“ entsprechend Ihrer Betriebssystemversion herunter.
3. Kopieren Sie die TAR-Datei „Central 5.7.1“ in den Ordner „<Installationsordner>/central“.
4. Führen Sie den folgenden Befehl unter folgendem Pfad aus: „<Installationsordner>/central“:
tar -xvf <TAR-Datei „Central 5.7.1“>
Starten Sie Central Server erneut.

Ausführen von Central Output Server auf RHEL 4
Bevor Sie Central Output Server auf RHEL 4 ausführen, stellen Sie sicher, dass die Variable D_LIBRARY_PATH
richtig festgelegt ist. Die Variable muss sich auf den Pfad der Systembibliothek, gefolgt vom Bibliothekspfad
von Adobe, wie nachfolgend beschrieben, beziehen.
Wenn Central Output Server beispielsweise an folgendem Speicherort installiert ist: /usr/local/adobe/central
Dann muss der Bibliothekspfad wie folgt festgelegt werden:

Zur Behebung dieses Problems müssen Sie die Datei Jfmerge.ini mit den folgenden Einstellungen im
Abschnitt [OPTIONEN] aktualisieren:

Gibt das Präfix der in der PDF-Ausgabe erstellten temporären Datei an.

Dans ce document, <racine Central> correspond au répertoire d’installation racine d’Adobe Central Output Server.
Installation Microsoft Windows
Arrêtez Central Services exécuté dans le panneau Services avant de suivre la procédure de mise à jour
correspondant à ce Service Pack.
1. Effectuez une sauvegarde du répertoire <racine Central>.
2. Téléchargez le fichier Central5.7.1.rar et décompressez-le.
3. Copiez les fichiers décompressés vers le répertoire <racine Central>\bin existant.
Remplacez les fichiers du même nom dans le répertoire bin, le cas échéant.
Mise à jour de SAP Output PAK
1. Effectuez une sauvegarde du fichier <racine Central>\bin\jfrdi.exe.
2. Téléchargez le fichier SAPoutputpak5.7.1.rar et décompressez-le.
3. Copiez le fichier jfrdi.exe décompressé vers le répertoire <racine Central>\bin existant.
Remplacez le fichier jfrdi.exe existant, le cas échéant.
4. Effectuez une sauvegarde du fichier <répertoire d’installation de SAP Output PAK>\SAP_OutputPak_57\
ServerTools\adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe.

6. Cliquez deux fois sur adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe et exécutez le programme d’installation pour mettre à
jour Print Queue Processor.
Remarque : utilisez votre numéro de série actuel au cours de l’installation.
Démarrez Central Services à partir du panneau Services après avoir suivi la procédure de mise à jour
ci-dessus.
Vérifiez que le numéro de version est maintenant bien 5.7.1.xx, en exécutant la commande Jfmerge/Jftrans/
XmlImport.

Remplacez le fichier WinMerge.exe existant, le cas échéant.

Arrêtez View Manager si celui-ci est en cours d’exécution.
1. Effectuez une sauvegarde du fichier <racine Central>\ClientTools\ViewMgr\JfViewMgr.exe.
2. Téléchargez le fichier View Manager.rar et décompressez-le.
3. Copiez le fichier JfPreView.exe décompressé vers le répertoire <racine Central>\ClientTools\ViewMgr.
Remplacez le fichier JfPreView.exe existant, le cas échéant.
4. Cliquez deux fois sur le fichier JfPreView.exe (copié en suivant la procédure ci-dessus) pour redémarrer
View Manager.
Installation UNIX
Arrêtez Central Server.
1. Effectuez une sauvegarde du répertoire d’installation Central 5.7.0.
2. Téléchargez le fichier tar Central 5.7.1 correspondant à la version de votre système d’exploitation.
3. Copiez le fichier tar Central 5.7.1 vers <répertoire d’installation>/central.
4. Exécutez la commande suivante à partir du chemin : <répertoire d’installation>/central :
tar -xvf <fichier tar Central 5.7.1>
Redémarrez Central Server.

Exécution de Central Output Server sous RHEL 4
Avant d’exécuter Central Output Server sous RHEL 4, vérifiez que la variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH est
correctement définie. Celle-ci doit contenir le chemin de la bibliothèque système (System_libpath) suivi
du chemin de la bibliothèque Adobe (adobe_libpath), tel que décrit ci-dessous.
Par exemple, si Central Output Server est installé sous /usr/local/adobe/central

Lors de l’exécution de plusieurs instances de Central, vous pouvez rencontrer des erreurs liées à la génération
d’un fichier temporaire pour la cible de présentation PDF.
Pour résoudre ce problème, il vous faudra mettre à jour le fichier Jfmerge.ini avec le paramètre suivant
sous la section [OPTIONS] :
TmpFilePrefix=JF1
TmpFilePrefix représente le préfixe du fichier temporaire créé lors de la génération du PDF.
Le second terme doit comporter 3 caractères et être unique pour chaque instance de Central.
Ce paramètre doit être ajouté pour toutes les instances de Central dans le fichier jfmerge.ini correspondant,
et le préfixe doit être unique pour chaque instance. Cela permet d’assurer que le fichier temporaire
généré est unique pour chaque instance de Central.

Service Pack 1 のインストール
このドキュメントでは、<Central ルート > は Adobe Central Output Server ルートインストールディレクトリと読
み替えます。
Microsoft Windows でのインストール
この Service Pack の更新手順に進む前に Services Panel で実行している Central Services を停止します。
1. <Central ルート > ディレクトリのバックアップを作成します。
2. Central5.7.1.rar ファイルをダウンロードして解凍します。
3. 解凍したファイルを既存の <Central ルート >\bin ディレクトリにコピーします。
ファイルのコピーを確認するメッセージが表示されたら、bin ディレクトリ内のファイルを選択
して置き換えます。
SAP Output PAK の更新
1. <Central ルート >\bin\jfrdi.exe ファイルのバックアップを作成します。
2. SAPoutputpak5.7.1.rar ファイルをダウンロードして解凍します。
3. 解凍した jfrdi.exe を <Central ルート >\bin ディレクトリにコピーします。
ファイルのコピーを確認するメッセージが表示されたら、既存の jfrdi.exe ファイルを選択して置
き換えます。

4. <SAP Output PAK インストールディレクトリ
>\SAP_OutputPak_57\ServerTools\adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe ファイルのバックアップを作成し
ます。
5. 解凍した adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe を既存の <SAP Output PAK インストールディレクトリ
>\SAP_OutputPak_57\ServerTools ディレクトリにコピーします。
ファイルのコピーを確認するメッセージが表示されたら、既存の adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe ファイ
ルを選択して置き換えます。
6. adobe_sap_pqp_5_7.exe をダブルクリックしてインストールセットアップを実行し、Print Queue
Processor を更新します。
メモ：インストール実行時に現在のシリアルキーを使用します。
前述の更新手順完了後に Services Panel から Central Services を開始します。
Jfmerge/Jftrans/XmlImport コマンドを実行することによって、現在のバージョン番号 5.7.1.xx が表
示されることを確認します。
Output Designer の更新
1. 既存の <Output Designer インストールディレクトリ >\Output Designer5.7\WinMerge.exe ファイ
ルのバックアップを作成します。
2. WinMerge.rar ファイルをダウンロードして解凍します。
3. 解凍した WinMerge.exe を <Output Designer インストールディレクトリ >\Output Designer5.7
ディレクトリにコピーします。
ファイルのコピーを確認するメッセージが表示されたら、既存の WinMerge.exe ファイルを選
択して置き換えます。
View Manager の更新
View Manager を実行中の場合は、終了します。
1. <Central ルート >\ClientTools\ViewMgr\JfViewMgr.exe ファイルのバックアップを作成します。
2. View Manager.rar ファイルをダウンロードして解凍します。
3. 解凍した JfPreView.exe を <Central ルート >\ClientTools\ViewMgr ディレクトリにコピーしま
す。
ファイルのコピーを確認するメッセージが表示されたら、既存の JfPreView.exe ファイルを選
択して置き換えます。
4. 前述の手順でコピーした JfPreView.exe をダブルクリックして View Manager を再起動します。

Unix のインストール
Unix のインストール
Central Server を停止します。
1. Central 5.7.0 インストールディレクトリのバックアップを作成します。
2. OS のバージョンに対応した Central 5.7.1 tar ファイルをダウンロードします。
3. Central 5.7.1 tar ファイルを < インストールディレクトリ >/central にコピーします。
4. パスから次のコマンドを実行します。< インストールディレクトリ >/central:
tar -xvf <Central 5.7.1 tar ファイル >Central Server を再起動します。
RHEL ４で Central Output Server を実行する
RHEL 4 で Central Output Server を実行する前に、LD_LIBRARY_PATH 変数が正しく設定されてい
ることを確認してください。この変数は、以下に説明するように、システムライブラリパスとそ
れに続いて Adobe ライブラリパスを参照する必要があります。
たとえば、Central Output Server が次の場所にインストールされている場合 :
/usr/local/adobe/central
