Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines Computers vorgesehen und dient dort
zum Aufbau einer Internetverbindung über DSL.

Treiber-Installation & Anschluss
• Legen Sie zuerst die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein
(DSL-Modem noch nicht an den Computer anstecken!).
• Falls das Installationsprogramm nicht automatisch startet, so öffnen Sie das Verzeichnis
"Driver" und starten Sie dort im jeweils zu Ihrem Betriebssystem passenen Verzeichnis das
Setup-Programm (für Windows ist dieses im Verzeichnis "Windows" zu finden).

Möglicherweise sind die Verzeichnisnamen bei neueren Versionen der Treiber-CD
anders; evtl. ist auch die Vorgehensweise bei der Installation anders. Beachten Sie
dann evtl. vorhandene Text- oder PDF-Dateien auf der CD.
• Der Treiber meldet nach kurzer Zeit, dass man das USB-Modem an einen USB-Port des
Computers anstecken soll. Nach dem Anschluss (verbinden Sie das DSL-Modem über das
mitgelieferte USB-Kabel mit einem freien USB-Port des Computers) fährt das SetupProgramm mit der Installation fort.

Manchmal kann es dazu kommen, dass Windows die neue Hardware schneller
erkennt als der Treiber von der CD auf die Festplatte kopiert wird; Windows meldet dann, dass die Hardware nicht richtig installiert ist. Ignorieren Sie diese
Meldung und lassen Sie das Setup-Programm weiter laufen.
Windows XP meldet während der Installation, dass der "Windows-Logo-Test" nicht bestanden wurde. Ignorieren Sie diese Meldung und bestätigen Sie mit "Installation fortsetzen"
(mehrfach erforderlich).
Danach wird die Hardware korrekt erkannt; die Installation ist abgeschlossen.
In der Menüleiste wird ein neues Symbol eingeblendet, über das die Funktion des DSLModems überwacht werden kann.
• Verbinden Sie die kleine Westernbuchse auf der Rückseite des USB-Modems über das mitgelieferte Datenkabel mit dem Signalausgang des Splitters, den Sie von Ihrem Netzbetreiber
erhalten haben.
Einrichtung einer Internetverbindung unter Windows XP (SP2)

Die folgende Beschreibung kann bei neueren Betriebssystemversionen bzw.
Updates möglicherweise anders ablaufen.
• Wählen Sie unter "Start\Alle Programme\Zubehör\Kommunikation" den "Assistent für neue
Verbindungen", klicken Sie auf "Weiter>".
• Wählen Sie die Option "Verbindung mit dem Internet herstellen" (normalerweise bereits voreingestellt) und klicken Sie auf "Weiter>".
• Wählen Sie "Verbindung manuell einrichten" und klicken Sie wieder auf "Weiter>".
Machen Sie zwischen den einzelnen Teilen KEIN Leerzeichen, schreiben Sie das
"t-online.de" unbedingt klein, keine Großbuchstaben!
Vergessen Sie vor der Mitbenutzernummer das "#" nicht.
Das Passwort ist zur Sicherheit gegen Schreibfehler zwei Mal einzugeben. Klicken Sie
danach auf "Weiter>".

• To disconnect the Internet connection, click with the right mouse button on to the small icon
in the menu bar with two screens and select "Disconnect". Otherwise the connection will
remain active (even if the Internet Explorer or another browser has been ended) and further
costs are incurred! After terminating the connection, the small icon will disappear from the
menu bar.
Tips and notes
Intended use
The product is intended for connection to a USB port of a computer and is used there for establishing an Internet connection via DSL.
• The LED "ADSL" is permanently lit when the DSL modem is connected correctly to the DSL
line. The LED blinks if the DSL modem is searching for a DSL signal.
• Zum Starten doppelklicken Sie das Verbindungsicon auf dem Desktop und klicken Sie auf
"Verbinden". Wenn alles richtig eingegeben wurde, erscheint in der Menüleiste von Windows
ein kleines Icon mit zwei Bildschirmen, das Ihnen die aktive Verbindung anzeigt.

• Never break the USB connection to the DSL modem if possible when data is being transferred. Always terminate the Internet connection through the small connection icon in the menu
bar. Otherwise, you could leave damaged files on your hard disk.
• Starten Sie danach den von Ihnen verwendeten Webbrowser, z.B. den Internet Explorer. Bei
Verwendung anderer Webbrowser kann es erforderlich sein, diesen zuerst zu konfigurieren,
bevor eine Verbindung möglich ist.
• Zum Beenden der Internetverbindung klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das kleine
Icon in der Menüleiste mit den beiden Bildschirmen und wählen Sie "Verbindung trennen".
Andernfalls bleibt die Verbindung aktiv (auch wenn der Internet-Explorer bzw. ein anderer
Browser beendet wurde) und es fallen weitere Kosten an! Nach dem Trennvorgang verschwindet das kleine Icon aus der Menüleiste.
Tipps und Hinweise
• Die LED "USB" leuchtet bei Stromversorgung über USB.
• Die LED "ADSL" leuchtet dauernd, wenn das DSL-Modem korrekt an die DSL-Leitung angeschlossen ist. Die LED blinkt, wenn das DSL-Modem nach einem DSL-Signal sucht.
• Die LED "DATA" leuchtet bzw. blinkt bei Datenübertragung.
• Trennen Sie möglichst nie die USB-Verbindung zu dem DSL-Modem, wenn Daten übertragen
werden. Beenden Sie die Internet-Verbindung immer über das kleine Verbindungs-Icon in der
Menüleiste. Andernfalls könnten beschädigte Dateien auf Ihrer Festplatte zurückbleiben.
Bei einem Absturz Ihres Computers könnte die Verbindung über DSL aktiviert bleiben.
Schalten Sie in diesem Fall Ihren Computer aus bzw. starten Sie ihn erneut.
• Andere Geräte auf dem USB-Bus könnten evtl. die Datenübertragungsgeschwindigkeit negativ beeinflussen (z.B. Scanner oder USB-Festplatten).
• Wenn Ihr Computer mehrere USB-Schnittstellen hat, so ist es unerheblich, an welchen Sie
das DSL-Modem anschließen.
Wenn das DSL-Modem abgesteckt wird (z.B. wenn der Computer transportiert wird), so sollten Sie es später wieder an den gleichen USB-Port anstecken, da ansonsten evtl. die
Treiberinstallation nochmals nötig ist.
• Falls das DSL-Modem an einem USB-Hub nicht funktioniert, stecken Sie es versuchsweise
direkt an einen USB-Port Ihres Computers an.
• Das USB-DSL-Modem muss nach jedem Trennen und erneuten Verbinden mit dem USB-Port
bzw. bei jedem Ein-/Ausschalten des Computers das DSL-Signal suchen und finden.
Deshalb kann es dazu kommen, dass Sie kurz nach dem Rechnerstart noch keine
Verbindung aufbauen können. Warten Sie einfach ca. 1-2 Minuten, bis die ADSL-LED dauernd leuchtet.
Auch über das kleine Icon in der Menüleiste können Sie feststellen, ob ein DSL-Signal
erkannt wurde oder nicht.

If your computer crashes, the connection via DSL could remain activated. In this case, turn
your computer off or restart it.

speed (e.g. scanner or USB hard disks).

the DSL modem.
Installing drivers & Connection
• First insert the supplied CD into the corresponding drive of your computer (do not yet connect the DSL modem to your computer!).
• If the installation program does not start automatically, open the directory "Drivers" and start
the setup program there in the directory that matches your operating system (for Windows,
this is located in the "Windows" directory).

Maybe the directory names are different with newer versions of the driver CD and
the installation routine may also differ. Pay attention to the text or PDF files available on the CD (if applicable).
• After a short time, the driver reports that you can connect the USB modem to a USB port of
the computer. After connection (connect the DSL modem via the provided USB cable with a
free USB port on the computer), the setup program continues with the installation.

Sometimes Windows detects the new hardware faster than the driver is installed
from the CD onto the hard disk. Then Windows tells you that the hardware is not
installed properly. Ignore this message and continue running the setup program.
During the installation, Windows XP reports that the "Windows logo test" was not passed.
Ignore this message and confirm with "continue installation" (required several times).
Afterwards, the hardware is detected correctly and the installation complete.
A new symbol appears in the menu bar, which serves to monitor the function of the DSL
modem.
If the DSL modem is disconnected (e.g. if the PC is transported), it should be connected again
later to the same USB port as otherwise, possibly, the driver installation will be necessary
again.
• If the DSL modem does not function on a USB hub, try to connect it directly to a USB port of
your PC.
• After each separation and re-connection with the USB port or when turning the computer
on/off, the USB DSL modem has to search and locate the DSL signal anew. Therefore you
might not be able to establish a connection right away after starting your computer. Just
wait approx. 1 to 2 minutes until the ADSL LED stays lit.
You can also tell via the small icon in the menu bar whether a DSL signal was detected or
not.

Setting up an Internet connection under Windows XP (SP2)

Bei T-Online sieht der Benutzername wie folgt aus:
• In the last window, click on to "Make link with the desk top” ("Tick has to be placed”) so
that later you can start the connection simply with a double click on to an Icon on the desk
top. Finally, click on to "Finish”. The connection is set up and the assistant is ended.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• Im letzten Fenster klicken Sie auf "Verknüpfung auf dem Desktop hinzufügen" (Kreuz muss
gesetzt sein), damit Sie später die Verbindung einfach über einen Doppelklick auf ein Icon
auf dem Desktop starten können. Abschließend klicken Sie auf "Fertig stellen". Die
Verbindung wird eingerichtet, der Assistent wird beendet.
• Wählen Sie "Verbindung über eine Breitbandverbindung herstellen, die Benutzername und
Kennwort erfordert". Klicken Sie auf "Weiter>".

• To start, double click on to the connection icon on your desk top and click on to "Connect".

that your connection is "live".

Installation des pilotes & raccordement
• Insérez d'abord le CD fourni avec l'appareil dans le lecteur correspondant de votre ordinateur (ne pas encore raccorder le modem DSL à l'ordinateur!).
• Si le programme d'installation ne démarre pas automatiquement, ouvrez le répertoire
"Driver" et lancez le programme "Setup" dans le répertoire correspondant à votre système
d'exploitation (pour Windows vous trouvez ce programme dans le répertoire "Windows").

Il est possible que les noms de répertoire se modifient pour les versions plus récentes
du CD de pilotes; éventuellement aussi la méthode d'installation est différente.
Observez dans ce cas les fichiers de texte ou PDF éventuellement disponibles sur le CD.
• Le pilote signale après un court instant qu'il faut relier le modem USB à un port USB de l'ordinateur. Après le raccordement (reliez le modem DSL via le câble USB fourni à un port USB
libre de l'ordinateur), le programme "Setup" continue l'installation.

Parfois il se peut que Windows reconnaît le nouveau matériel plus rapidement que
le pilote est copié du CD au disque dur. Windows affiche dans ce cas le message
que le matériel n'est pas correctement installé. Ignorez ce message et laissez continuer le programme "Setup".
Pendant l'installation, Windows XP affiche le message que le test logo de Windows n'a pas été
réussi. Ignorez ce message et validez en cliquant sur "continuer l'installation" (plusieurs fois).
Ensuite le matériel est détecté correctement; l'installation est alors terminée.
Dans la barre de menu apparaît un nouveau symbole qui permet de surveiller la fonction du
modem DSL.
• Reliez la petite douille western au dos du modem USB à l'aide du câble de données fourni
avec l'appareil à la sortie des signaux du coupleur que vous avez obtenu de la part de votre
exploitant de réseau.
• Démarrez ensuite le butineur que vous utilisez, l'Internet Explorer par ex. Si vous utilisez
d'autres butineurs, il faut d'abord les configurer avant qu'une connexion ne soit possible.
• Pour quitter la connexion Internet, cliquez avec la touche droite de la souris sur la petite icône dans la barre de menu représentée par deux écrans et choisissez "Couper la communication". Le cas échéant, la communication reste active (également quand vous avez quitté
l'Internet Explorer) et les frais de communication s'additionnent. Après avoir coupé la communication, la petite icône disparaît de la barre des menus.
Conseils et indications
• Lors d'une alimentation via USB, la DEL "USB" s'allume.
• La DEL "ADSL" s'allume en permanence lorsque le modem DSL est raccordé correctement
au câble DSL. La DEL clignote, lorsque le modem DSL recherche un signal DSL.
• La DEL "DATA" s'allume ou clignote lors de la transmission des données.
• Ne coupez jamais la connexion USB vers le modem DSL lorsque vous transmettez des données. Quittez toujours la connexion Internet par la petite icône dans la barre de menu. Le cas
échéant, des fichiers endommagés pourraient demeurer sur votre disque dur.
En cas de panne de votre ordinateur, la connexion via DSL pourrait rester active. Dans ce
cas, éteignez votre ordinateur ou redémarrez-le.
• D'autres appareils sur le bus USB pourraient éventuellement négativement influencer la
vitesse de transmission des données (scanner ou disques durs USB).
• Si votre ordinateur dispose de plusieurs interfaces USB, vous pouvez brancher librement le
modem DSL sur chacune d'elles.
Lorsque le modem DSL est débranché (par exemple lors du transport de l'ordinateur), vous
devez le rebrancher ultérieurement sur le même port USB, sinon vous serez éventuellement
obligé de réinstaller le pilote.
• Lorsque le modem DSL USB ne fonctionne pas sur un concentrateur USB, branchez-le, à titre
d’essai, directement sur un port USB de votre ordinateur.
• Après chaque coupure et reconnection avec le port USB ou lorsque l'ordinateur est allumé/éteigné, le modem DSL USB doit rechercher et trouver le signal DSL. C'est pourquoi il est
possible que, directement après le démarrage, vous ne pouvez pas encore établir une connexion . Il suffit d'appuyer environ 1 à 2 minutes jusqu'à ce que la DEL ADSL s'allume en
permanence.
Vous pouvez également reconnaître par la petite icône dans la barre de menu si un signal
DSL a été détecté ou non .

Installation d'une connexion Internet sous Windows XP (SP2)

La description suivante peut éventuellement fonctionner différemment pour les
versions plus récentes ou des mises à jour des systèmes d'exploitation.
• Sélectionnez
l'"Assistant
pour
de
nouvelles
connexions"
sous
"Démarrage/Programmes/Accessoires/Communication", puis cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Sélectionnez l'option "Etablir une connexion à Internet" (normalement déjà présélectionné)
et cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Choisissez "Configurer ma connexion manuellement", cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Sélectionnez "Etablir la connexion via une connexion large bande qui requiert un nom d'utilisateur ainsi qu'un mot de passe". Cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Entrez le nom de votre fournisseur Internet. Cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Entrez maintenant les paramètres de connexion que vous avez reçu de votre fournisseur
Internet. Veuillez observer si nécessaire les informations que celui-ci vous a fourni concernant l’entrée correcte des données.
A titre de sécurité, pour éviter les fauts de frappe, le mot de passe doit être entré deux fois.
Puis cliquez sur "Suivant >".
• Dans la dernière fenêtre, cliquez sur "Ajouter un raccourci sur le bureau" (la case doit être
cochée), afin de pouvoir démarrer ultérieurement la connexion en double-cliquant sur une icône du bureau. Pour finir, cliquez sur "Achever". La connexion est installée, quittez l'assistant.
• Double-cliquez sur l'icône de connexion située sur le bureau pour démarrer, puis cliquez sur
"Connecter". Si toutes les entrées ont été correctes, une petite icône avec deux écrans
apparaît dans la barre de menu, elle affiche la connexion active.
