Expert in a consultancy firm specialised in advisory services for developing countries, with a focus on the following
topics: agriculture, forestry, energy, and environment (water, biodiversity and climate).
Final evaluation ot the project « Eco-Makala: promotion of sustainable wood-supply to rural populations closed to the
city of Goma », implemented from 2009 to 2013 in the Nord Kivu. Financed by WWF-Belgium (through EuropeAid
funding).
Support to the FAO in assessing the relevance and the effectiveness of adaptation policies and measures related to
agriculture, forestry and rural development sectors in the National adaptation plan of actions (NAPAs) submitted by 18
African countries (out of the 33 African least developed countries). Financed by the FAO.
Forest officer in charge of reforestation activities (projects/studies) including commercial activities, expertise and
technical monitoring within the ONF-I network: Office National des Forêts, ONF Energie, ONF Andina (Colombie), ONF
Brasil, ONF Conosur (Chili), ONF Cameroun, Sylvafrica (Gabon), technical and scientific partners (CIRAD/INRA/etc.).
Technical assistance for the Lafarge group: support in the elaboration of feasibility studies on quarry reforestation
projects for woodfuel production (study of natural conditions; species/growth recommendations; costs/benefits analysis
of the fuel-switch substitution potential). Financed by the Lafarge group.
Electricity Development Corporation/World Bank: Forest management plan for the Lom-Pangar Hydropower Project
(timber and biomass); Design of the exploitation road scheme and elaboration of the environmental and socio-economic
specifications to open new access roads : GPS readings of existing roads/tracks, mapping of the concessions areas
using MINFOF/EDC/WCS data and GPS tracks.Financed by the World Bank.
Technical assistance, the Moringa investments fund (ONF International/Compagnie Benjamin de Rotschild). Elaboration
of a business plan for commercial reforestation projects (timber, woodfuel, agroforestry) in Africa (DRC) and Latin
America (Colombia). Project sourcing for the fund. Financed by ONFI.
UNEP (RisoCenter, Denmark): info-memo and investment plan of the « NovacelSudKwamouth » REDD+ project in
DRC, a commercial, agroforestry and woodfuel production project (makala) on the Plateaux Batéké around Kinshasa.
Economic analysis of the woodfuel sector (+ improved technologies) and cassava flour sector. Technical assistance to
the project developer Novacel. Financed by the UNEP Risoe Centre.
Forest investment program (World Bank/Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Tourism): Opportunity study
for the development of private, commercial reforestation projects, based on agroforestry and woodfuel production
around Kinshasa. Land tenure analysis, technical, socio-economical and organisational needs analysis, private
operators’ identification, integration to the REDD+ framework. Cartography of the supply basin under ArcGIS with
mixed-data. Financed by the World Bank, FIP Committee.
French development agency/Ministry of Sustainable Development, Forest Economics and Environment: Support to the
elaboration of the « National Woodfuel Strategy » and to the restructuring of the National Reforestation Service (in
collaboration with Ernst & Young). Financed by the French development agency (AFD).
