Heat Link ® www.heatlinkgroup.com Propylene Glycol with Molybdate Corrosion Inhibitor Submittal - Page 1 of 2 Job or Customer : Location : Engineer : ❏ Complies with Spec ❏ Alternate Notes : Contractor : HeatLink Rep : Submitted By : Date : Approved By : Date : P.O. Number : Date : Description Glycol freeze protection fluids with built in inhibitors (designed for hydronic heating systems) should be used (do not use car antifreeze). These products are important in extreme climate applications and also in HeatLink® snow melt installations. A side benefit to these fluids is the lubrication/coating they provide to mixing valves and pumps. HeatLink propylene glycol is premixed with molybdate based corrosion inhibitor. A 20% glycol solution will provide the recommended molybdate concentration of 100-150 ppm. Higher molybdate concentrations are not harmful to the system. This product has low toxin levels. Mixing glycol with water alters the physical properties of water in terms of heat transfer rate and fluid friction head. Aqueous glycol solutions are of lower thermal conductivity and more viscous than water alone. When used in hydronic heating, system flow rate and friction head are to be adjusted accordingly. Repeated exposure to skin may cause slight flaking, tenderness and softening. Énoncés de risque : Risque d'irritation légère passagère des yeux. Un contact répété avec la peau peut entraîner une légère desquamation de l’épiderme, de la sensibilité et du ramollissement. Precautionary Phrases: Exercise reasonable care and caution when storing. Mesures de précaution : Faire raisonnablement attention, une bonne ventilation générale devrait suffire. First Aid: No adverse effects if inhaled or ingested. If in contact with eyes, irrigate immediately with water for at least 5 minutes. If contact with skin, wash off in flowing water or shower. Read the material safety data sheet before using. HeatLink Group Inc. Systems with an aluminum boiler or components will require a non-inhibited glycol and molybdate blend optimized for aluminum treatment. HeatLink does not currently offer a glycol or corrosion inhibitor compatible with aluminum components.
