Food & drink - Places to enjoy!
We have been to some of the places below, others have been recommended to us. There are also some
cards from restaurants on the pin board on the kitchen. Most restaurants serve food from 12-2pm for
lunch and then about 6-9pm evenings. It is also quiet common for restaurants to be closed on Mondays
on Sunday evenings, but do usually open for Sunday lunch. The French are very family orientated so
don’t worry about taking kids into any restaurant they are always very welcome. Check pin board in
kitchen for more ideas.
Fish et Frites 6 - 8.30pm (Le Dorat - Fridays, Saint-Léger-Magnazeix - 1st Tues of Month, Saint Sulpice-lesFeuilles & Lussac-les-Églises - Alternate Thursdays, Liglet - 1st Saturday of Month). Look out for their
signpost on the day of their visit.
For those looking for a taste of home, traditional fish & chips. They usually set up at a village hall or local
bar where you can get a drink and sit down and eat your meal. There is a good mix of both French &
English alike. We suggest you get there early as it is always very busy. There is a copy of there menu in
Tourist Info basket in the lounge/diner.

Places to visit & Things to do
Here a few ideas for some places to visit during your stay at La Maison de Cromac. There are
hundreds more ideas in the tourist information leaflets in the lounge/diner. We have also put
some of the tourist information websites in the bookmarks on the computer.
Lac Mondon - 3 min drive. 2km towards St Sulpice. A lovely boating and fishing lake with heated
swimming pool (Opening : June to Early September: Tuesday to Sunday (2 pm to 7 pm). July and August
: Daily : campers only 11.00am to 1.00pm, public 2.00pm to 8.00pm. Until 10.00pm on Wednesday
and Saturday evenings.), tennis court and bar / restaurant. A great place for a walk and
picnic.
Lac de Rochegaudon, Chaillac - 20 mins by car . Just on the outskirts of
Chaillac is Lac de Rochegaudon which has beach, kids play park, beach
volley ball court, bar, snack hut, life guard patrolled swimming area with
waterslide. There are also pedalos to explore the lake on. There is a nice
footpath round both parts of the lake and plenty of fishing points.
Lac d’Eguzon, Chantôme Eguzon - 35 mins drive. Large lake, with plenty
of water sport activities, swimming lake with beach, small play park, water
slide & restaurant/bar.

Saint-Pardoux Lake is a popular tourist destination in the Haute-Vienne. Nestling within a protected
natural site, this 330-hectare artificial lake is perfect for enjoying activities in the great outdoors - alone,

There is a wide array of facilities with something for everyone: treat yourself to the fitness course, the
acrobatic trail through the trees, the 50 kilometres of marked footpaths, the sailing centre, water skiing
club, or how about a spot of fishing or hiking.
In the summer, three laid-out beaches with lifeguard-attended bathing areas (1st July / 31st August) as
well as packed entertainment programme (fireworks, aquatic show, games and workshops for kids,
